The Syrinxes & The Queen Bee

A lonely girl was deceived into being captured by a race of powerful winged mages to give birth to their kids. The hated fate of their Queen Bee was complicated by the appearance of other more powerful magicians who flew to their colony from another planet. Intro  Welcome to the universe of syrinxes - winged vampires, a multi-gender community. For two thousand years, powerful magicians have been in an endless war with the flesh-eaters Zirux, who outnumber them, so they recruited mortal people to help, colonizing 22 planets and forcing women to give birth to half-breed offspring for the needs of the war. The story begins with the first book, The Syrinxes of Zaria. The action takes place on an abandoned colony seven years away by space ship from the main stronghold of the planet Xantari, ruled by five ancient Archons.

In the morning Kamily dared to leave her hiding place and found out the syrinx was not nearby. Taking a wicker basket she went to the forest to find some food.

"Have you decided to take a walk? - Kamily turned around and stared at the flawless beauty of Lariel holding a bunch of colorful fruits.

He smiled not taking his eyes off her.

"I picked up something to eat for you."

He put fruits in her basket.

"Thank you!" - she said embarrassed. — Why are you still here? I thought… "

"O-o, common! I'm not going to bite you… — he grinned with white sharp teeth. — I promise…"

"I can't be sure… just do not trust you."

"So I decided… you would be my bride! You are so cute!" - his eyes started flashing.

"What!? — widened her eyes. — No!"

"Yes-yes, you like my bright appearance, your words! You admire my look, so why not? We can be a family…"

"I'm a human and you are not! Vampire!" — shout Kamily frowned.

"Ha-ha!"

"Go away!"

He seemed not listening her protest and grimaced derisively as he paced around the girl.

"Let's make a new dress! It doesn't suit for my bride at all, it's so dull."

Kamily perplexedly began to examine her long brown robe. She did not expect to hear such an unflattering assessment of her clothes. It was the only decent dress that she and her mother made from woolen fabric bought in the village. They had to work hard for a roll of this. She shot him an offended look.

"The blue is perfect for your black hair and enhances your eyes color, - he slid his gaze over her slender figure. - You inspire me to be creative."

"What are you going to make your dress out of? I don't have any fabric."

The handsome drew his index finger in the air and a long thin blue ribbon appeared from under it. He grabbed it with his other hand and ran his finger along it - the tape expanded.

The girl was dumbfounded in amazement as she watched the cloth being added out of nowhere. Gradually he built up a large whole canvas.

"What is this, some kind of magic? - Kamily rushed to touch the shimmering fabric applying it to her body not believing it's real.

Lariel smiled contentedly.

"The magic of the invisible flame. I always make my own clothes and all the necessary things. Still need to cut… stop! Do not move!"

He began to measure the girl with deft movements with a thin tape and transfer the measurements to the spread canvas. The absence of a knife did not prevent him from cutting the fabric along the marks, his long claws were sharp enough. Threads were also not needed: the edges of the patterns miraculously connected with each other, and soon the tailor wizard was holding a finished long, seamless dress with sleeves in his hands.

"I have never seen such a beautiful dress and so quickly sewn," - Kamily could not hide her admiration.

"Try it on!"

The girl jumped with delight, picked up her dress and ran into the house.

When she came out in a new outfit Lariel approached her with a beaming gaze.

"What a beauty you are, Kami! Let me do your hair."

In a wink of eye her hair was combed and styled by his deft fingers.

"Why do you know how to sew woman's dress and comb the hair, you don't see women? - Kamilliya asked suspiciously.

"I can make an outfit for any creature according to the figure. In addition, all my brothers have long hair and everyone can take care of it.

Lariel sat down on the grass and stared at the girl. She carelessly spun in place, dancing and admiring the shimmering of fabric, not noticing how his eyes were burning with a lilac flame.

"Won't it melt on me?" - Kamily hesitated, laughing.

"No, be calm, it will be worn for a long time."

All day long, the syrinx entertained the girl by creating various objects out of air: pretty shoes, a lovely mug, an elegant carved table with a chair and other household items.

He reveled in her delight watching her bounces and squeaking, clapping her hands at each new thing.

"How is this possible? Such a beauty! You are a great mage!"

She ran up and in a fit of feelings hugged the winged guy by the waist. He delighted with her reaction gently embraced her.

"But you're stinging!" - she screamed discovering a slight tingling of invisible needles on her skin.

"Ha-ha, not deadly! My flame… You'll get used to it, my bride!" - Lariel grinned not letting go of her.
