Working together (1)

Author's note: this is from Sergio's point of view

Waking up with the scent of Moonflower surrounding me was surreal.

Mental images of Calista calling my name breathlessly flashed in my mind, and I was hard as a rock and ready to serve her a morning dose of ecstasy.

Last night was fantastic. Calista was totally into it. She was hotter and more passionate than ever before, caressing, gripping, and pulling me closer like it was never close enough.

The best part was that I told her she was my mate. No more secrets.

Calista had questions, of course, she did; she probably couldn't grasp how much that meant to me, but she didn't freak out, and that was important.

Unfortunately, my happiness didn't last long.

Calista was not there, her absence was tangible, and my heart tightened.

Did I misread her?
