[ Seraphina's POV ]

Calm down, Kiera.

She was trashing under my cloak and her claws dug into my arm.

I wanted to scold her, but then I remembered she was a baby. A hungry baby. And I just ate her breakfast.

I was a bad mother.

Kiera, dear. Listen.

'What is there to listen to? You promised and it didn't happen. And it's not the first time!'

She was right, but… Oh, Geez. I was out of excuses.

Let me fix this.

I opened the door and peeked outside to see two guards in the hallway.

"Hey, you!" I shouted. "Jarsey has a task for you. One of you should fetch Grosk, and the other should come here." They didn't move. "Why are you just standing there? You know Grosk, right? He came here last night with me and two other guys. Hurry up unless you want Jarsey to lose his patience."

They exchanged glances and did as they were told.
