The Super Mech System

As humans conquered the solar system, faster than light travel became a sought after ability to facilitate humanity’s expansion. However, upon achieving this, humans accidentally formed rips in space-time that opened up special Pocket Realms. These realms housed special planets similar to Earth, but they possessed hostile environments and dangerous, supernatural beasts with special abilities. Within each beast was a special crystal and as humans harvested these crystals, they utilised its special properties to construct the special synthetic life-form known as the ‘mech’. These mechs were nanotechnology suits, that bonded to a human host and acted as a thin, highly useful suit when activated. Technology advanced at rapid pace following this discovery, as mechs could provide humans with oxygen in low oxygen environments, heal injuries, amplify speed and strength by hundreds of times and much more. Humans soon created the genetic score that represented how easily a mech would bond to them as a host and how effective that symbiotic relationship would be. Those with higher genetic scores were lauded and rewarded for their talents, while those who weren’t as lucky were forced to settle at the bottom of society. Born into a small, working-class family, Alonso was born with an appalling genetic score of 0.11. As a result, he lived on mech-less, even past the Mech Adoption Age of 14, because it was too dangerous to let his body bond to a mech. However, he, gains a unique power, the super mech system. No longer powerless, he can now accomplish his dream of becoming a mech combatant! Although, he must navigate the challenges and obstacles of the insanely competitive mech combatant academy.

The Terrakin

Alonso evaded the initial punch but was forced to block the second that came his way. The punch caused the leaves beneath them to flutter, and Alonso was sent sliding across the ground.

The golem came stumbling forward and threw down its arms forcefully. Before it could hit Alonso, he grabbed its arms and stopped it right in its tracks.

The two beings struggled to gain the advantage over the other in a clash of raw strength, and there was little movement for a few seconds.

Under his stained glass vice, he gritted his teeth hard to try and overpower his adversary. His mech started to vibrate louder than usual and it was clear that it was being driven to the maximum of its abilities.

However, this golem gained the upper hand then kicked him in the chest as his arms were forced by his side.

Alonso felt nauseous after receiving such a heavy blow, but he didn't let the attack distract him.

Although he was clearly outmatched in terms of strength, he believed he had superior speed.

Voom!

Alonso dashed forward at speeds reaching even 70 miles per hour in a flash. His deduction was correct, and he had caught his opponent off guard.

Bam! Bam!

Using his superior speed and technique, he managed to play his cards well and land a few attacks.

It was tough trying to break down a being made of pure stone but that didn't stop him. The golem possessed true power and even in the off cases that it landed a shot, it would do some serious damage.

It wasn't long before his mech had incurred some concerning amounts of damage.

"Mech Damage: Moderate."

His system called out, upon receiving another blow to the head.

'Already? This beast is just too powerful. It might even be strong enough to rip this damn mech off me.' Alonso realised, just about evading another attack.

However, as he stepped back, he stumbled over some uneven terrain and began to fall. The golem then grabbed him by his head while in his tumble and dragged him along the ground to then slam him into a tree.

The golem shouted and vehemently slammed him into that same tree again then continued and continued bashing his head into the bark until the tree had been damaged almost up to its centre.

"Mech Damage: Severe."

His mech started to twitch lightly, and he could feel it malfunctioning in places. It would suddenly tighten over a part of his body, and his senses were fading fast.

Those heavy blows to the head had disoriented him, but he somehow remained standing.

'I have to be a mech combatant. How could I die here?' Alonso asked himself.

There was no option for failure. Nobody and absolutely nobody was going to stop him before he was done. He still had work to do, and his journey was not going to be cut short!

Alonso roared at the top of his lungs to fuel himself with fury.

He leaped forward with immense speed and unleashed a wave of full power blows onto the golem. Subsequently, he revealed his heat slash attack and began repeatedly using his heat slash with ferocity.

It easily began to shred through its body, and molten rock soon started being ejected from its body. The towering beast growled upon receiving these attacks and screeched in agony.

"Power: 25%."

This message brought Alonso to a sudden halt, and the golem stumbled to the ground before dying.

The molten rock that oozed out from its wounds solidified and the fight was over. Alonso dropped onto his knees and then fell to his hands, exhausted, and battered.

His Basic Repair System was not going to be doing much for him, and he just used the last of his energy to retrieve the beast crystal from inside it.

Looking for the beast he had faced on this realm's mirror of the MechAtlas, it was named the Terrakin. Much to his surprise, this Terrakin was also labelled as a Tier 5 beast. If that was a Tier 5 beast, he wondered what even just a Tier 4 would be like.

What he knew for sure was that he would be totally overpowered by one now. His grind was no where near over.

It was safe to say that he was not doing much any longer. To save himself the danger of a possible Terrakin or spider dog attacking him, he used his mech to climb the vertiginous trees to rest.

Finding a relatively large branch, he simply looked over the smaller trees to ahead to look at the view. There was a large forest that surrounded him, but there were also grasslands too. It was a beautiful, dumbfounding sight, and he was almost pulled back into reality once he felt the vibration of the incoming aircraft.

He slowly returned to the area where he had met the other warriors, and they all had various different appearances. Some looked just as healthy as they were when they arrived, but others were even more injured than Alonso was.

Thanks to his mech, his injuries had gone through some significant healing and he wasn't bleeding anywhere. The pain he felt had also diminished greatly, then the crowd of warriors were gathered back into the aircraft.

There was also another FTL Outpost located on the planet. There were about 8 outposts on the planet that were operated by numerous different people. Since it was in a totally different realm, the bulk of the work done for these outposts' operation were handled by robots coupled with artificial intelligence.

This allowed for outposts to be manned by as little as 50 people at any one time.

Just like before, the aircraft was hurled right back into the main realm and it was currently above northern Sago.

It took around 4 minutes for it to arrive back near the skyscraper where the dungeon fighters were collected, and their day had come to an end.

Alonso made sure to not reveal his beast crystals while still in the company's grounds, and he decided to reveal them in a corner of the city out of the eyes of people.

Beast crystals could be sold for decent prices, and he opened his system as he revealed them all.

'How do go about selling these on the market?' Alonso asked.

"The user will have to create a MechMod account. Upon creating an account, the user will also have to link credit card details to manage transactions."

Alonso anticipated a rather tedious process, but he was happy to know that he was able to copy over a large volume of the needed information from his mobile phone.

[Cost for MechMod Account: 200 Credits]

Alonso was disheartened by this large introductory price. He simply didn't have 200 credits to cough up but as he continued to stare at this panel with a look of dissatisfaction, it vanished.

[Account Created!]

It seemed that his system had somehow managed to bypass this paywall and he as stunned. If the system could do things like that, he wondered if he could use that ability to bypass payments for items that he wanted on the MechMod Market.

[Choose Account Username]

Alonso didn't place too much thought into this and decided to just use the first things that came to mind for him.

[Super_Mech_ADV_101]

He named his user account after his system and also his initials, ADV for Alonso Del Valle.

Upon finishing this last step, he was given full access to the MechMod Market.

Just below this panel that detailed his account statistics, was a large panel of various hot items that were up for grabs. There were items like special fire manipulation modules and beast crystals.

There were also entire mechs up for grabs, from people killed in war and other things.

He then searched up how much it would cost for him to sell a spider dog beast crystal. Much to his surprise, he found that a single one of these crystals went for 70 credits.

To get rid of his own as soon as possible, he wanted to place them on the market for just 55 credits. He could go for about 65 to maximise profits but he too impatient to wait for a buyer to purchase them.

'I want to sell this item.'
