Stressed

"Your boyfriend is a—"

"B*stard. I know that." Cracking her fingers, Holly added, "Let him enjoy while he can. We need him for the address so we have to take his tantrums. We will teach him a lesson later."

"Alright, you should go and ask him what he wants to eat."

"Don't worry about that, I'll make dinner for us today. You had a long day, take some rest." Patting Evelyn's shoulders, Holly comforted her. "Don't stress over it okay? We will get through this project together. Look Evy, to be honest, this project is going to be very difficult because of the relationship we, especially you share with Edward. But despite everything, I want you to remember that I will always be there with you, okay?"

"I know." Giving her a hug, Evelyn sighed, "I know I can always count on you."

"Always."

"Girls, I am hungry. What if I die out of hunger without getting the address for you guys?" Rylan shouted from the living room.

"This guy—ahhh only if I didn't love him," Holly sighed before walking out of the room.

…..

At night.

Tossing and turning on the bed, Evelyn took a deep breath before jolting up. Sitting up straight for quite some time, she got off the bed. She had been feeling very uneasy and she could barely catch any sleep.

Glancing at the watch, she groaned and buried her face on her pillow. It was already three in the morning and she had barely slept which meant she would definitely be late for work. She didn't want to get scolded by her boss again who definitely did not like her.

Though she did not like how her boss Davis treated her, she could do nothing but endure it. Yes, she had an option of quitting but Evelyn didn't want to go through the tedious job hunting process all over again.

After tossing and turning a couple of times more, she decided to grab a glass of lukewarm glass of milk.

…..

Kitchen.

"Evy, what are you doing?"

"Hmm just boiling some milk."

Rubbing his eyes, Rylan sighed, "It's 3:30."

"I know, I couldn't fall asleep." Pouring a glass of milk for herself, she inquired, "Do you want some?"

"Yeah, if you have some left."

"I'll just boil some for you, it's not gonna take long."

Walking towards her, he leaned against the counter. "What happened? Why aren't you sleepy?"

Shrugging her shoulders, she answered, "Maybe because I ate a very heavy dinner."

"You barely touched the food." Helplessly shaking her head, he sighed, "Look, I don't know what is going on but if there is anything I can do to help you please let me know. We are like family, there shouldn't be any hesitation between us."

"I know, I am just—" Hesitating for a while, she added, "I am just worried about the new project."

"That one which involved Edward Harris?" When she nodded her head, Rylan remarked, "Well, it's not gonna be easy because Mr.Harris is a very difficult man but I am sure you will find a way out. But if you stress about it this way, you won't be able to focus."

Passing him a glass of milk, she nodded her head in agreement. "I'll be okay by tomorrow."

"Hmmm, you should finish your milk and get some sleep otherwise you will be late again."

Because of some personal reasons and a hectic college schedule, I was unable to update this book. But now I am back as things are getting better :)
