Chapter Twenty Two

Caleb P.O.V

As we walked to meet Aidan's siblings, there were butterflies in my stomach. I'd never met them before, just like I'd never properly met his mother, and now I was going to be telling them that I'd gotten pregnant by their youngest brother. I just pray that they'll be as calm about it as their mother was, or I don't know what I'll do.

We moved at a slow pace, knowing we had plenty of time to get there since we had set off early. After breakfast with Riley and Jordan, Aidan helped me get ready, so we were ready quite quickly compared to usual as I'm already struggling to move more than I did in the first trimester. Once we were both ready, we decided to set off straight away so that we could get a table for everyone.

"Are you feeling any better than you did earlier, my love?", Aidan asked, holding my hand tightly in his. I nodded gently, resting my head on his shoulder and wrapping my free hand around his arm as we walked. He chuckled and kissed my forehead, allowing me to cling to his arm for the time being.

We continued walking for a few minutes until we reached the cafe, and then stopped outside the door, each of us taking a deep breath before we went inside. I reached out a shaky hand to grab the handle and pushed it open, letting Aidan walk in first before walking in behind him, my other hand resting on my stomach.

Spotting a slightly larger table that was close to the back of the cafe, we head straight towards it and take the seats closest to the wall, Aidan being on the outside and me being practically in the corner. I bounced my leg up and down on the floor, my hands tapping the table in a rhythmic pattern, but my leg was stilled by Aidan placing a hand on my knee.

"Calm, love. You need to calm down, a higher blood pressure is bad for you,", he cooed in my ear, offering a comforting smile in my direction.

"I know, I just... I'm scared. I know your siblings are supposed to be nice, but what if they just view me as the freak their brother knocked up? I've never met them before, and I don't want them to hate me so quickly,", I ranted anxiously. He shook his head and placed a hand on my cheek, his thumb stroking it softly. Leaning into his touch, my eyes stared into his, and I seemed to calm down almost instantly.

He opened his mouth to speak but was cut out by a few sets of footsteps getting closer to our table. Turning away from Aidan, my eyes collided with four pairs of blue ones, their owner's faces all slightly resembling my boyfriend. Three of them were boys, but one girl with shoulder-length, curly black hair caught my eye. She wore glasses and, by the looks of her clothing, she seemed to be a businesswoman, possibly a teacher.

She was the first to step closer, reaching a hand out for me to shake. Offering a smile, I took her hand in mine and shook it, repeating the action for the other three boys. They gladly shook my hand, telling me their names as they did.

"Hey, Aidan's boyfriend. I'm his oldest brother, Grayson. Nice to meet you, man,", the one with brunette hair that had been shoved into a messy ponytail - whose name I now know to be Grayson - introduced himself. Next was the female that had previously captured my attention, and she introduced herself as Judy, followed by the brother who looked the most like Aidan, and he introduced himself as Aidan's twin brother, Ethan. Last was the one with a scar on his left eye and his raven hair styled in an undercut, who I soon learnt was Toby.

"It's nice to meet you all! My name's actually Caleb, but the title of 'Aidan's boyfriend' is fine too,", I laughed nervously, fiddling with my hands under the table. They all laughed along, and the butterflies I had been feeling for a while subsided, and I felt myself sink back into my chair a little more. "Does anyone want a drink? I'm paying,".

"It's alright, you don't need to pay for us. We invited you here, the least we could do is buy the drinks!", Judy assured. "I already know these idiots' normal drinks, but what can I get you? Do you want a coffee?"

"No thanks, I'm not supposed to be drinking it,", I replied nervously, rubbing the back of my neck. She sent a confused look my way, prompting me to explain. "It's just a medical thing,", I lied, knowing Aidan would want to wait a little longer before telling them.

"No worries! I'll get you a hot chocolate?", I nodded and thanked her before she walked off, leaving me at the table with the four brothers who seemed to be communicating without words. It wasn't long until Ethan turned to face me, a smirk on his face.

"So, Caleb, is there anything our dear brother hasn't told us yet?", he cocked his head to the side and his smirk grew wider. Gulping, I shook my head and looked down, trying my best to act normal. "Oh, come on. No need to be shy, we'll probably be your brothers-in-law at some point!"

"Don't pressure him, idiot. He doesn't need you stressing him out. Besides, we'll tell you when Judy gets back,", Aidan intervened, rubbing my back to calm me down. The three brothers sceptically nodded and broke into their own little discussion of what we might be telling them. To no one's surprise, however, none of them considered the idea of pregnancy, most likely as we were both men.

A few minutes later, Judy returned with a tray of drinks in her clutch, and the boys immediately reached for their drinks and took a sip. The ravenette girl merely huffed and rolled her eyes before smiling again and placing my drink in front of me. I thanked her again before taking a small swig of my hot chocolate and savouring the taste.

It stayed quite quiet at our table as we all began drinking our beverages, but then the attention was turned towards me as Toby remembered what Aidan had said previously. "So, loverboy,", he smiled, looking at his brother. "You did say you would share your news with us after we had our drinks, so do you care to share?"

"Honestly, I almost forgot about that,", he chuckled, setting his mug down on the table. "You're probably going to find this pretty shocking, but please try to stay calm,", they all nodded and looked between the both of us curiously. "To put it simply, you're gonna have two nieces or nephews in about five months,".

It took a few seconds for his words to click, but when they did, the four siblings' faces lit up almost immediately. I rubbed my bump softly, smiling at how happy they appeared to be with their younger brother's news.

"Are you both serious?", Judy gasped, looking towards me and scanning my body. I shrunk back into my chair, feeling uncomfortable with her staring, and she seemed to notice as she quickly averted her eyes and flushed a light pink. "Sorry,", she muttered, but I only smiled and shook my head.

"It's alright, I'm just not used to staring. And yeah, we're serious,", I grabbed my bag and pulled out a photo. "Here's the ultrasound if you wanna see,", I slid it across the table to her, and she grabbed it quickly before staring lovingly at it and tearing up slightly. "Oh god, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry!", I panicked, arms in the air slightly.

She wiped her eyes and smiled at me goofily before handing the picture back and looking at her brothers. "No no, you didn't upset me. I'm just happy one of these four idiots is finally settling down since none of them has had children yet,"

"Neither have you!", Grayson laughed, walking over and sliding an arm around both mine and Aidan's shoulders. "I'm happy for you both, and I'm sure I'll be the favourite uncle,", he smirked.

"We'll see about that"
