The Story Begins

This is technically a rewrite of the 1st chapter since it felt rushed not only to myself, but to some of my readers (I'm talking about you, camo), so I've decided to completely rewrite it and turn it into 4 separate chapters.

Our hero's story begins in the Village Hidden in the Mist, where an adult Sarada Uchiha (Leaf Village) is with her husband, Shirane Dorobou (Mist Village), in the Mist Village Hospital. Shirane, while helping Sarada stand, approaches the counter. The receptionist looks up, and her eyes widen.

"She's ready to pop. Quickly, follow me. We need to get her to a room as soon as possible."

Shirane helps Sarada to a room, followed by their 1st son, Inaga. They get her onto a bed, and call for a doctor. As soon as he walks in, he goes off.

"Why are her legs not up?? I can tell just by looking at her, that baby is coming...today. Get her legs up and supported."

The nurses look at him for a second because of his small outburst.

"TODAY! NOW!"

They quickly bring in the required equipment, and get Sarada hooked up and ready for childbirth. Once she's all hooked up, a more skilled professional walks in. She had helped deliver Inaga 7 years ago. This professional is none other than Sakura Uchiha, Sarada's mother, and wife to Sasuke Uchiha, Sarada's father. She quickly gets in front of Sarada.

"Alright, Sarada. You've done this before. Let's just hope this one is as easy as the last."

After 3 hours of labor, and endless screaming from Sarada, Sarada gives birth to a baby boy, which her and Shirane name Namaru. Since they gave Inaga the last name Dorobou, it was decided that Namaru would have the last name Uchiha. Sakura hands the new born baby to Shirane, and a tear of joy rolls down his face, same as when he first held Inaga. He smiles and hands Namaru to Sarada. Sarada looks down at Namaru, and he finally opens his eyes. As soon as he opens them, Sarada looks a little concerned. She turns to Shirane, trying to get his attention.

"Shirane?"

Shirane turns around, looking at Sarada.

"What is it?"

Sarada gestures to the infant in her arms.

"I think there's something wrong with Namaru's left eye."

Shirane, clearly confused, walks over to the two to look at his child.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

Shirane looks down, and he sees it too. Namaru's left eye is completely black except for white rings in it similar to the Rinnegan. He, immediately, gets concerned.

"Want me to get Sakura?"

Sarada, with her free arm, thumps Shirane upside the head.

"Duh."

Shirane walks outside the room, rubbing his head, and looks at Sakura.

"We need you to see something, Sakura. Nobody else, just you."

Sakura nods and turns to walk back into the room.

"Okay?"

Shirane leads Sakura back to the room.

"There's something up with his right eye. It looks weird."

Sakura looks at Namaru's eye and sees it, too.

"What do you - OH, CRAP!"

One of the nurses pokes her head in at Sakura's screaming.

"Is everything alright?"

Sakura, frantically, shoos the nurse away.

"Everything's fine, just please leave. We need privacy."

The nurse excuses herself, shuts the door, and leads the other nurses away. Once they're gone, Sakura turns back to Namaru. Shirane can't think of anyone who would know about Namaru's condition, so he turns to Sakura.

"What do you think, Sakura? Do you know anyone who can tell us anything?"

"The only man who can tell us anything is Sasuke. I will have to try to call him, though. He's just always on the move to help keep the Ninja World safe, so he probably won't answer."

Sarada looks at her mother, worried, and speaks.

"Well, it probably wouldn't hurt to try, mom."

Sakura gives Sarada a calming hand gesture and replies.

"You need to rest Sarada. Myself and Shirane will sort this out. You sleep."

Sakura picks up a nearby phone, and calls Sasuke. *Ring* *Ring*

"What is it?"

Sakura, relieved Sasuke picks up, begins explaining the situation.

"Sasuke! We need you at the Mist Village hospital quickly. Sarada just gave birth to her second child, but, well, there's something wrong with his eye. We don't know if you could tell us what's up with it or not?"

Sasuke, sounding as emotionless as always, shuts down Sakura.

"Take it to Naruto. I'm busy."

Sakura, getting upset, tries to reason with her husband.

"But, Sasuke-"

Sasuke hangs up the phone.

*Click*

"Ugh. He just told us to take him to Naruto, and that he was busy. Then he hung up."

Shirane gives a disappointed sigh before replying.

"Well, if he's not going to help, let's just -"

Suddenly, a portal opens, and Sasuke walks out of it. Sakura is the first to say something.

"I thought you said you were busy?"

Sasuke looks at Sakura almost as if he's trying to stare into her soul.

"I was, but realized Naruto wouldn't have been able to tell you anything since he knows nothing about Dojutsu."

Sarada decides to butt in.

"Do you think it IS a Dojutsu?"

Sasuke looks at Namaru's eye.

"Definitely. And from the looks of it, it appears to be permanent. I'm surprised he wasn't born dead since a Dojutsu uses up way too much chakra, chakra a baby definitely would never have. Unless this Dojutsu only drains chakra when it's used, and not when it's active, but that kind of Dojutsu doesn't exist. To be fair, we've also never seen this Dojutsu, either. It could be unique to only him like a Mangekyou Sharingan is to its owner."

Sasuke takes a closer look at it.

"We'll have to see what it's capable of in the future. I suggest you all move to the Leaf Village so you will have the protection of Naruto."

Suddenly, Sasuke disappears. Shortly after that, the power completely goes out in the entire building, and a man wielding a giant needle runs into the room.

"Shirane, we're under attack."

Shirane turns around, quickly, freaking out because his wife and children are in danger.

"By what?"

The man with the giant needle responds, kind of freaking out, himself.

"A Tailed Beast. More specifically, the 6 Tails."

Now, Shirane is visibly confused as he questions further into the situation.

"Why would it attack? It's always been peaceful toward us."

The man shrugs with a response.

"I have no idea, sir, but we need to stop it. Lord Kagura (He's still alive in this book) is out there right now with the other 4 Ninja Swordsmen and his sword, Hiramekari, fighting it off. We need you and your sword."

Shirane nods and walks toward the other side of the room.

"You got it."

Shirane grabs his sword, Kubikiribocho, the Executioner's Blade, and follows the man out of the room running toward the exit. Sarada goes to stand, but Sakura shuts her down.

"Mom, I need to go help."

Sakura stands adamantly, not planning on moving any time soon as she shut down and of Sarada's hopes of helping.

"You just gave birth. That is a no."

Sarada sighs, but accepts what her mother says, knowing she's right.

"Fine, but, keep the kids safe."

Sakura nods.

"I will, Sarada. I'm going to go run them home, right now. Let's go, Inaga."

Sakura picks up Namaru, and runs out of the building, Inaga right behind her. Once outside, she looks up to see Shirane weaving hand seals from on top of a building.

"Wood Style: Silent Strangle Jutsu!"

Beams of wood rocket out of the ground and buildings, and wrap around the 6 Tails, completely immobilizing it. Shirane, then, weaves more hand seals.

"Mud Release: Muddy Water Wall!"

A wave of mud is sent toward the 6 Tails like a tidal wave, completely covering it in mud. Shirane jumps down to the other 6 Ninja Swordsmen, and together they weave hand seals...a lot of hand seals...in perfect unison, and all shout the jutsu together.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

7 Water Dragons fly at the 6 Tails, and hit it, weakening it tremendously. As a last resort, it charges and launches a Tailed Beast Bomb, however, it's going directly toward Sakura and the kids. Sakura prepares to be incinerated, but Sasuke appears in front of her, and repels the Tailed Beast Bomb with his Six Paths chakra-infused Susanoo. The Tailed Beast Bomb is returned back on the 6 Tails, and upon impact, it is knocked out. Sasuke turns to Shirane.

"Quickly, seal that thing before it wakes up."

Shirane, visibly confused, can't think of anything or anyone to seal it in.

"But into what or who, Sasuke?"

Sasuke looks around, and only sees one candidate.

"As much as I hate to say it, seal it away inside Namaru."

Both Sakura and Kagura Karatachi have something to say about it.

"We are NOT sealing that thing inside my grandson!"

Kagura nods before agreeing with Sakura.

"Agreed. It would be disastrous to seal it away in an infant."

Sasuke begins to looks frustrated.

"Do either of you see any other option? Obviously that thing is wanting to attack the Mist Village. If you, Lord Kagura, want to keep your village safe, you'll let this happen."

Kagura says nothing, but Sakura is pretty dead set on not having her grandson become a Jinchuuriki.

"I won't allow it Sasuke."

Sasuke, very set in his ways, will make sure it happens one way or another as he fires back at Sakura.

"Too bad, Sakura. I would literally fight you about this, so unless you think you can best me in combat, you'll shut up. You may be strong, but you have nothing on my Sharingan."

Sakura looks away, defeated, before Sasuke turns to Shirane and speaks.

"Shirane. Let's do this."

Shirane summons a sealing altar, and Sasuke places Namaru on it while Shirane weaves a few more hand seals.

"8 Sign Seal!"

The 6 Tails is promptly sealed within Namaru with no resistance as the beast is knocked out. Sakura grabs Namaru and Inaga and hands them off to Shirane, who takes them home. The next day, Sarada is allowed to leave the hospital and return home, where Shirane fills her in on what happened. She is not happy, whatsoever.

"You WHAT?!"

Shirane tries profusely to defend himself.

"We had no choice but to seal it in him."

Sarada is showing no signs of cooling down any time soon as she continues screaming at Shirane.

"Why? Because he's an infant and has no say in the matter?"

Shirane, realizing that Sarada is right, tries to shut down the argument,

"Actually, yes. Nobody else wanted that thing sealed away in them, so our last option was Namaru."

Sarada, still mad, punches Shirane and he flies through the wall behind him.

"Ugh! The last thing I wanted for any of my kids was for them to be a Jinchuuriki. No one should have to go through that. But, I guess what's done is done. Let's just hope, for your sake, he never has to use it's power."

Shirane stands up and brushes himself off before continuing to speak with Sarada.

"Sasuke mentioned we should move to the Leaf Village so we have Hokage Naruto's protection, but I don't know."

Hearing Shirane mention the Leaf Village, Sarada visibly calms down a little as she responds.

"I think we should. That way, you can see the Village I grew up in. Plus, it would give me security to know we have the protection of Naruto. He won't let anything happen to us."

Shirane nods and gives in to Sarada's wishes.

"Alright then, but I'll have to clear it with the Mizukage."

Sarada, seeming a little excited, begins speaking as if she knows how the Mizukage's brain works.

"I doubt he'll say you can't. Regardless, I'm moving home, so if he won't let you, then you'll have to visit when you can."

Shirane begins to turn to leave as he tells Sarada one last thing.

"You go ahead and start packing up. Hopefully, I can join you."

Shirane immediately leaves to speak with the Mizukage. Upon getting to him, Shirane gives his request, to which the Mizukage is fine with.

"I don't see why you can't. Just know, I'll be calling you frequently for missions, so don't think is a vacation away from your responsibilities to this village or to the Seven Ninja Swordsmen."

Shirane shakes his head and confirms that it is, indeed, not a vacation.

"I don't think of it as a vacation at all, Lord Kagura."

Kagura looks pleased as he dismisses Shirane.

"Good, because it isn't. Now, go pack."

Shirane hurries home to find his stuff is already packed.

"I told you he wouldn't say no, Shirane. Let's go."

As they travel to the Leaf Village, they get ambushed by a ninja. One of them look at Sarada, who is holding her newborn child.

"You're Sasuke's daughter, aren't ya? Time to die."

Before the ninja can move, he's already being trapped in a water prison by Shirane, and electrocuted by Inaga using the Lightning Ball technique that he learned from Sarada. Since the ninja was in the water prison, the electricity was enhanced, and he was killed instantly. They leave his body there, and finish making their way toward the Leaf Village, where they are greeted by Naruto.

"Sasuke told me you guys were coming. Welcome back, Sarada. Welcome, Shirane, and kids."

Shirane bows and acts formal in front of Naruto.

"Thank you, Lord 7th. It is a pleasure to be welcomed here to your village."

Sarada slugs Shirane in the arm and scolds him.

"Quit acting like a dork, Shirane."

She turns to Naruto and continues speaking.

"Do you have a place set up for us, Naruto?"

Naruto nods as he responds.

"Sure do. I had a place constructed right outside the walls of the Hokage mansion."

Sarada looks very confused as she questions Naruto.

"But if you just learned a couple days ago that we were coming, how did you get the place built so fast?"

Naruto gestures to Yamato, who is actually standing nearby.

"Yamato built it using Wood Release."

Shirane forms a smirk across his face.

"I know Yamato well. That's how I got my Wood Release."

Naruto looks confused at this comment.

"Huh?"

Shirane, noticing Naruto's confusion, explains himself.

"Oh, I copy element-based Kekkei Genkai through battle experience. That's MY Kekkei Genkai."

Naruto, somewhat pleased, but wierded out, continues speaking.

"Huh. Alright, then. Welcome to the Leaf Village. I'll go ahead and show you guys to your house."

Naruto has them follow him, and when they reach the house, they find that it's quite large. On one side of the door, is the Uchiha Clan Symbol, and on the other side, is the Dorobou Clan Symbol.

"Was there really much of a purpose in you having a place this large prepared for us?"

"Nope, but I wanted it done, anyway. Go ahead and make yourselves feel at home in there. Tour the place, get unpacked, and starting tomorrow, Inaga will attend the Leaf Village Ninja Academy. You can pick up right where you left off from when you were in the Mist Village. You'll just get taught more about what you were already learning, and to a greater extent. Our teachings are highly effective."

"Yay...Can't wait another second..."

Shirane had had enough of Inaga's sarcastic attitude.

"You knock that attitude off right now, young man. You should feel privileged to live in the Leaf Village. I know I do."

Naruto just chuckles.

"Don't think of it as a privilege. To a Hokage, the village is my home, and in my home, everyone's welcome, because everyone's my family."

Shirane bows again.

"Thank you, Lord 7th."

Shirane leads Inaga and the others into the house, and they get busy unpacking. Over the course of the next 3 years, they get very settled and have tried starting a new life in the Leaf Village, but with Shirane constantly gone on missions for Kagura, it doesn't work out as well as they had hoped. Namaru is currently 3 and Inaga is 12, and a Genin. Sasuke wasn't there at all, not even for Inaga's graduation. Shirane tries to be home as much as possible, but all the travelling to the Mist Village, since Kagura refuses to just call him, and has him come in for a briefing on his missions, is a huge hassle. This scene opens with a curious 3-year-old Namaru.

"Mom, am I ever gonna meet grandpa?"

Inaga just shakes his head.

"You don't want to, Namaru. He's a rude man, even to mom. Plus, I doubt he would even know who you are."

Sarada interjects.

"You definitely got my attitude, Inaga. You want to meet your grandpa, Namaru?"

Namaru nods as he responds to Sarada's question.

"Yeah. It's not fair that Inaga has met him, and I haven't. Was he even there when I was born?"

Sarada gives Namaru a kind smile and answers his question.

"Of course he was-"

Inaga interjects, rudely, and cuts Sarada off.

"Only to look at your left eye so we could determine what it was."

Sarada, furious, screams at Inaga.

"INAGA! THAT IS ENOUGH! ROOM! NOW!"

Inaga stomps off toward his room. As he does so, Namaru asks his mom about what Inaga had said.

"Is that true, mom?"

Sarada hangs her head and replies.

"Well, yes, but-"

Namaru cuts her off, himself.

"So he didn't even care that he had another grandson."

Sarada hangs her head and tries to raise Namaru's spirits.

"If it helps at all, he wasn't there for Inaga's birth at all."

Namaru thinks to himself for a second and shakes his head.

"Regardless, I still want to meet him. He's my grandpa, and he should know I exist."

Sarada puts a hand on Namaru's shoulder.

"He knows you exist. He was there the day you were born."

Suddenly, there's a knock at the door. Sarada opens it to find Naruto standing there.

"I, uh, walked up and...heard...Namaru...wants to meet Sasuke?"

"Yeah. He doesn't think it's fair that Inaga has met him, and he hasn't yet."

"If you want, I can tell you where he is?"

Namaru screams from the background.

"Where? Where is my grandpa?"

Naruto steps aside, and Sasuke comes into view. Sarada looks puzzled as she stares at Sasuke before speaking to him.

"Dad. What brings you here?"

Sasuke, as calm as ever, looks at Sarada and responds.

"I'm just stopping by on my way through. The ninja world isn't safe yet. I know we've supposedly beaten the Otsutsuki, but there will be others. There has to be. Until then, I'll be staying in the village for a while between missions."

Sarada, still confused, questions Sasuke further.

"But I thought you were on a mission to find yourself?"

Sasuke nods with a response.

"I finally have. I'm, for one, the head of the Uchiha Clan, and a protector. For a time, I was an avenger, but I have atoned for my actions and come to terms with what I did in my past."

Sarada thinks to herself for a moment and speaks again.

"I really don't know your past, myself, Dad."

Without missing a beat, Sasuke stops Sarada dead in her tracks on her thought path with something rude.

"And you never will. You don't need to know what I've done. I've also told Suigetsu, Jugo, and Karin to tell you nothing. My past is none of your concern."

Sarada kinda pouts like a 5-year-old.

Sasuke looks over Sarada's shoulder, and sees Namaru on a tall stool reaching for the cabinet with the cookies in it, and the stool is beginning to tip.

"Not today."

In an instant, Sasuke uses his Rinnegan and swaps Namaru with a wooden toy block, and Namaru is on the floor.

"What happened? My cookie!"

Sarada moves to the side, and Sasuke walks past her, slowly toward Namaru. Namaru looks to see Sasuke walking toward him, and just sits there in total silence and fear. Sasuke reaches for Namaru, cups Namaru's face in his hand, lifts Namaru's face up, and looks at his eye, activating his Sharingan to see if it would tell him anything...and it did...when Namaru's left eye shuffled to mimic Sasuke's Sharingan down to the last tomoe. Sasuke was shocked for a second, and thought to himself.

'Maybe his eye can copy other Dojutsu?'

Sasuke, then, decides to test his theory by trying the Rinnegan (no tomoe), and sure enough, Namaru's eye turns into the Rinnegan from the Sharingan. Sasuke stands up and steps back. A second later, Namaru's eye reverts back to "normal," and he passes out. Sarada was talking to Naruto during all of this, but turns around as soon as she hears the thud. She sees Namaru lying on the ground, and Sasuke standing over him. Sarada runs over to Namaru.

"Is he okay? What did you do?"

Sasuke, remaining calm, answers Sarada.

"I didn't do anything. Not intentionally, anyway. I just looked at his Dojutsu with my Sharingan to see if it would tell me anything."

Sarada looks at Sasuke questioningly before asking what was on her mind.

"Did it?"

Sasuke looks down at Namaru as he answers Sarada question.

"You sure are full on questions. However, yes, it did...as soon as his eye turned into a 3 tomoe Sharingan as if it had copied mine, and the Rinnegan, as well, when I tried it."

Sarada, now fuming, screams at Sasuke.

"WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU TRY THE RINNEGAN?!"

Sasuke looks at Sarada as he calmly responds.

"When he copied my Sharingan, I was led to believe maybe his Dojutsu can copy other Dojutsu. That's why I tried my Rinnegan, and when I did, his eye shuffled straight to it from the Sharingan, and changed back to normal a couple seconds later. Even if only for a brief second, I think he has permanently prematurely unlocked those Dojutsu. I think his eye can copy Dojutsu and, possibly, Dojutsu abilities. Probably not Mangekyou, just because each Mangekyou is user-specific. Because of this, I am naming his Dojutsu, the Kirokugan.

"If what you say is true, and he permanently has these other Dojutsu unlocked, then that makes him, essentially, stronger than me, and he's only 3."

"You have your Mangekyou. You could still beat him in the future."

"Not if he learns how to master his Rinnegan. I'm screwed at that point. Plus, if I use my Mangekyou too much, I'll go blind. That's the last thing I want. A 3-year-old with that much power and no means to control it is dangerous."

"Only if he knows too early that he has it. Plus, you have Sakura's Hundred Healings seal. You can heal your Mangekyou, and prevent it from fading."

Sarada feels a stir in her arms, and looks away from Sasuke and down to find Namaru is waking up.

"What happened? I remember seeing funny, but nothing else after that."

Namaru looks up at Sasuke.

"Who are YOU?"

Sarada intervenes and looks down at Namaru.

"This, Namaru, is your grandfather, Sasuke Uchiha."

Sasuke looks down and makes eye contact with Namaru, and Sasuke's eyes widen. Namaru's Kirokugan looks different, now. It, now, has 2 tomoe in it, both of them white. Sasuke quickly gets over his shock, and gives Namaru a nod, deciding not to point out the change in the eye.

"Well...grandpa...can I ask you a question?"

Sasuke sighs and responds to Namaru.

"Make it quick."

Namaru thinks about what he's going to ask Sasuke. Once he finally decides what it's going to be, he asks away.

"Do you ever think about your family while travelling, because it seems to me that you don't care."

Sasuke's face softens into a more somber expression; one of mild sadness.

"Of course I do. My family is all I think about. Sure, I'm not always here to help, I'm still helping in a big way by keeping the entire ninja world safe. You'll understand someday."

Sasuke looks at Sarada.

"Is there a room set up for me anywhere?"

Sarada nods.

"Yeah. Since Mom, yet again, collapsed another house, she's been staying here with us. You can sleep with her. Last room on the left at the top of the stairs."

Sasuke suddenly disappears, and reappears in the room in front of Sakura, tapping his foot on the floor to make a noise. Sakura is currently reading. She looks up, and nearly drops her book in shock.

"Sasuke! You're home! How long are you staying this time?"

Sasuke, still calm and monotonous, responds.

"For a while. I have atoned for my past actions, and believe the Ninja World is safe enough to return home for the time being. I'll be going on normal missions with other Jonin."

Sakura thinks to herself for a second before responding.

"But, Sasuke, you're still a Genin, technically."

Sasuke nods with a response.

"You're correct, but I'm far above the Jonin of the village, so I will be assigned missions with Jonin, and quite often, even Anbu Black Ops. Now, if you'll excuse me..."

Sasuke, slowly and quietly steps toward the door and opens it, to have Sarada fall to the floor through the open doorway.

"Sarada. There's something I need you to do when Namaru becomes 5."

Sarada stands up and questions her father.

"What's that?"

Sasuke continues.

"I need you to start teaching him a Jutsu that he must master before entering the Ninja Academy."

Sarada, still confused, questions Sasuke further, getting annoyed that he won't just tell her.

"What Jutsu is that?"

Sasuke answers, however, it seems he wanted to confuse Sarada more.

"The Fire Ball Jutsu. If he hasn't mastered it by the time he's allowed to enroll in the Academy, then he won't be allowed to enroll at all until he has. It would've been the same for you if I was here, which I apologize for."

Sarada begins looking a litle frustrated as she half-way fires back at Sasuke.

"The fact that you weren't here is fine, but you wanting Namaru to learn the Fire Ball before he can enroll is ridiculous."

Sasuke shrugs and continues.

"It is an old requirement amongst the Uchiha Clan; one I'm bringing back. I had to do it, and now he does, too. Originally, it is taught at an older age, but if I can learn it at 5, so can he. So I want you to start his training."

Sakura goes to speak, and Sasuke quickly silences her and faces Sarada again.

"Am I clear, Sarada?"

Sarada hangs he head in defeat.

"Yes, sir."

The next few years fly by. Sasuke and Shirane are both off on missions (separately), so they aren't home very often. Namaru is currently sitting in his room reading, when Sarada walks in.

"Namaru, I need you to come with me outside."

Namaru looks up from the book in his hand.

"What for?"

Sarada gestures toward the door, not wanting to tell him just yet.

"I'm going to teach you something."

Namaru, although confused, gets up and follows Sarada. She leads him out of the village to an opening. That opening has a small dock over a large lake. (Sound like a familiar location?)

"Stand back, Namaru."

Namaru takes a step back, and Sarada weaves a few hand seals: Snake, Tiger, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger.

"Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu!"

Sarada spits a fireball out of her mouth over the lake. She keeps the jutsu going for a few seconds, then releases it.

"Namaru, I'm going to teach you the Fire Ball Jutsu."
