The Playful Eagle 16: Versus The Eagles! Part 7

I kept staring at him from the ground, I just couldn't move. Was it because of fear? Was it because of embarrassment? I have to get up, no matter what I do! I have to show him, I have to show Jiwoo he can always count on me!

"Since when.." I said and slowly started to get up.

"Did I.." I continued and started to walk up to him, he put his guard up.

"..TAKE THIS AS A JOKE?!" and jabbed him right at the stomach, he blocked it just before I landed the hit.

"You're a quick one, eh?" Danial said while looking down at me.

I looked up at him, I could feel how stale but serious my face was, my only priority this moment was to finish this. I will..

"..BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF YOU!!" I shouted back, took another step in and went in for a spike to his liver.

He quickly took a big step back and dodged my attack.

"But you're still not as quick as me!" he said and took more and more steps back. There was a great distance between us. I kept breathing, this is tough..

I looked down at my gloves, they were still just an ordinary color, how do I awaken them?

"Stop focusing on your goddamn Jinni!" he shouted from a far.

I looked up at him with confusion.

"This battle is about strength, and strength only! Worrying about your shitty Jinni won't show me your true strength!" Danial shouted.

Maybe he's right, maybe I should stop focusing on my Jinni, maybe that's how it awakens.. I looked up, everyone was eagerly standing and waiting for us to fight, well I won't let them down!

I bent slowly down my knees, to make it look like I was getting into a fighting position, I was staring right at Danial's eyes.

"NOW THAT'S MORE LIKE IT!!" he shouted while laughing.

I started taking big and quick steps towards him, getting my punch ready, however he was also running towards me at the same time. I did my best to focus on him, however a mind of me could still not get rid of my Jinni out of my head.

Just as I was going to punch him, he punched my fist. I could feel the blow from our fists colliding against each other, it was like a strong wind. I quickly jumped back and so did he.

"Better.." he sad.

I kept my vision on him.

"BUT STILL NOT ENOUGH!!" he shouted as he ran back in and punched through my guard.

This time I didn't fall to the ground, but I got a serious punch to my chest.

"When I fight, I want to see 100%.." he said while quickly jumping to me.

"..FROM BOTH FIGHTERS!!" he shouted and punched me right on my cheek, making me fall to the ground.

Shit! I have to be just as fast as him! I can't let him keep messing with me!

"I am showing one hundr-" I said before getting interrupted.

He jumped towards me and landed right in front of me, both his legs were next to each side of my body while I was on the ground. He bent down slowly and got close to my face.

"You are simply a mere puppy, you don't have knowledge about this world, nor the knowledge of how to fight" he said with a serious tone.

His face was right in front of me, and I could only feel him. Everyone who are watching just suddenly disappeared, could this be his spiritual energy?!

"You think you can tell me what is and isn't 100%? How about you try to actually give a proper shit to this fight!" he said and slowly backed off.

He kicked me and made me roll only a little and started walking away, I quickly stood back up. I had trouble breathing, however I kept standing up, jumping back and forth while having a boxing stance.

"This.." he said.

"THIS IS MORE LIKE IT, CHANT! KEEP CHANTING EVERYONE!!" Danial yelled with all he had while looking at the crowd.

He looked back at me, his smile becoming more and more creepy the bigger it gets, revealing his sharp teeth. However, this time I didn't feel any fear from looking at him, this time it was different!

"I am expecting more from you! You have boxing gloves, big muscles and even growing a beard, I am expecting to see a real man!" he said while looking at me with the same smile.

Slowly I started to grow a smile too.

"Oh you'll see more than a man!" I said with a smile on my face but a serious look in my eyes.

"THEN SHOW ME IT NOW!!" he shouted and ran up to me.

He was going in for a punch to the stomach, just before he was going to hit me I quickly dodged him and hit a hook on his liver. Just as I landed my hit he jumped away out of pure reaction.

He looked back at me, I kept staring at him, my eyes were wide open looking and focusing on him.

"Hmph, I wasn't expecting you to increase this much in speed!" he said.

"You are underestimating me!" I replied.

He started to run up to me again, this time I had my guard up. He tried to land a hit on my face, but I guarded it quickly. His punch was far more powerful than before, to the point where he was pushing me away from him.

"However, you're still struggling!" he said with a smile.

From the little opening between my arms I looked at him in the face, his expression changed quickly, it wasn't the same cocky one he had, he jumped back quickly.

"It seems.." he began.

The crowd kept chanting however Danial's voice was louder even if he wasn't shouting.

"You're close to 100%, and I promised to show you something in return!" he said with a smile.

I kept staring at him, without replying to him.

"Get ready for a real fight!!" he shouted.
