UNEXPECTED PERSON

It didn't take a long time before the female servant returned with a box filled with the things that Qianru's needed.

Without wasting time and words, both of them were heading toward Xiao Jun's courtyard in silence.

The wind blew once again as Qianru shivered in cold, she was always very sensitive with cold weather ever since she was little.

The moment they arrived at Xiao Jun's courtyard, Liu Wei, Xiao Jun's right hand person, knelt before her. "Greetings to Princess Qianru."

Qianru waved her hand impatiently, excused him. "Where is Jun? Is he still awake?"

"Master is in his bedroom and still not asleep yet, however, Master said not to be disturbed at this time." Liu Wei lowered his head to hide his trouble expression.

"He is injured. Has he treated his wound?"

"About that…" Liu Wei knew that Xiao Jun was injured, but he adamant to not let anyone to come near him, not even him was allowed to enter his room. Hence, he didn't know if his Master had treated his wounds or not.

"You don't know right?" Qianru guessed it. "Let me in, I will just look at his wounds, after that I will go."

"But… Master said…"

The uneasy looked on Liu Wei's face made Qianru compromised. After all she didn't want to trouble him. She didn't have the confidence to bother Xiao Jun too. It still wasn't clear what Xiao Jun felt about her.

"How if you tell him about my visit, if Jun doesn't want to be disturbed, I will go." Qianru advised. At this point, her fingers had turned cold. If she must have to stand longer than this in this cold corridor, she would get in trouble with her health tomorrow.

"Yes, yes… this subordinate will do as Princess said." Liu Wei bowed his head down and retreated.

Four guards who were standing at the corridor let him slipped passed them as he disappeared at the corner of the corridor.

"Princess Qianru, should I prepare a bowl of soup also for you? You must not have eaten." The young female servant looked at Qianru's pale face with worry.

"I am fine." Qianru replied without averting her eyes from the corridor where Liu Wei had disappeared.

To be honest, Qianru didn't feel well, she felt restless while waiting for Liu Wei returned. The feeling was unbearable, she was swinging between her concern about Xiao Jun's condition and her struggle to prepare herself for another disappointment.

Time was ticking slowly, Qianru felt like she had been waiting for eternity, but still there were no signs that Liu Wei would return. The only sound that she heard was the sound of the wind that blew between the leaves.

Qianru lowered her head with hope that had dissipated, she gave herself a bitter smile. The four guards who were standing in front of her watched how their Mistress tried to compose herself when she turned away and kept her head high in order to not let her tears fell, like the noble lady she was.

However, it didn't take her far away before she heard someone footstep approaching her with steady pace.

It should be Liu Wei who came.

With that in mind, Qianru turned around to face the answer that he brought, whatever it was, at least Xiao Jun still answered her.

However, the person who was standing behind her wasn't Liu Wei.

It was Xiao Jun himself.

Qianru was stunned. She looked at the man, who she had known for almost her entire live, was standing there with furrowed between his brows.

"Don't you want to come to see me?" Xiao Jun asked her.

He took a long time to come out, because he needed to clean up his wound first. He didn't want to startle Qianru with his bloody face and stained of blood all over his clothes.

The injuries didn't do any damage on him, but Qianru would definitely terrified by the sight.

"I thought you don't want to see me." Qianru lowered her gazed to hide the tears that brimming in her eyes.

"Why I don't want to see you?"
