SUMMONED TO THE PALACE

When Xiao Jun said he would return late, Qianru assumed he would come in the middle of the night, however as it turned out. He had gone for three days straight without any news.

Even Liu Wei didn't know where his master had gone, or he just didn't want to tell her about Xiao Jun's whereabouts. Qianru couldn't figure it out about that, since she was clueless about what her husband was going to do.

However, it had been three days and Qianru couldn't catch even single news about him and this made her worry.

Not only that, two days ago an imperial eunuch was sent to the inn to summon Xiao Jun to enter the palace, but because the person, who he was looking for wasn't there, he must return with empty hand.

But then, yesterday the same eunuch came to ask for Qianru to stay in the palace, because all the representative from the other two countries were staying inside and it wouldn't be good for representative from Azura to stay in the inn, lest people said The Emperor of Rockstone Kingdom was bullying Azura.

Despite of the eunuch persistence, Qianru still insisted to stay, with reason Xiao Jun was not there and she couldn't decide the matter without his consent. After all The Emperor Mo Qian Yuan didn't issue a decree, so she could handle it just fine.

But, the fact about Xiao Jun absent, bother her greatly. If it was Azura, she wouldn't be worry of him like this. But, they were not in Azura and it was confirmed that Xiao Jun had a target mark on his head.

Today, another invitation came from the palace, but this time it was intended for Qianru, when she heard about this, she couldn't help but frowned.

"Who has invited me?" Qianru looked at the envelope in annoyed. Why people from the palace couldn't give her a day of rest? They were literally summoning Xiao Jun and her every day since the moment they had arrived.

"This is coming from the crown princess Zhao Tianqi, my lady." Jinse said, she was the female attendant that was close to Qianru and had been following her for years.

"The crown princess?" Qianru's frown deepened. She didn't even bother to look at the contents of the letter and directly ordered Jinse to read it.

"This mentioned the crown princess Zhao Tianqi invited my lady for a tea while enjoying the blooming lilies in her courtyard." Jinse explained. "The carriage is waiting outside."

"How persistence." Qianru kneaded her forehead. "There is still no news from Jun whereabouts?"

Despite she had known the answer, but she still felt a pang of disappointment when Jinse shook her head sadly.

"I will enter the palace." Qianru stood up and was about to change her dress.

"But, my lady. Prince Xiao Jun doesn't allow you to go out from the inn." Jinse reminded her.

Upon hearing that statement, somehow Qianru felt agitated. "I am not a prisoner and if I don't allow to step out from the inn, he should be here to talk with all of those people who insisted for him to come!" She raised her voice that made Jinse lowered her head in fear.

Qianru wasn't someone who used to shout at other people, but when she did, it was frightening.
