Chapter 4: Rise of The 10th Prince

Augustus was born to the Royal Concubine. Hence, he had a right to inherit the throne of his father but he was the 10th in line since their empire did not have a history of Queens.

A fact that has greatly affected his chances,to add insult to injury his mother is from another continent. Hence he doesn't have any family to support him.

Augustus believed this would be very ideal for his plans and growth as an emperor. He didn't wish to become like the emperor's he read about in novels who had little power to expand and rule their empires compared to the officials and nobles.

Augustus's Mother was a princess from another continent. Her father and his grandfather were sworn brothers in their adventurous days. Hence how their children married each other despite being from two different continents.

His Mother was a Royal Concubine and the 3rd wife of his father. In the Harem of the king, it's lead by the Queen followed by 2 Royal Concubines and 5 Concubines. Lastly are 10 more wives to finish with nearly 20 mistresses.

Augustus now aged 6years old was standing in front of his father. His father was a warm man who treated his children with love till the talent test. One which he can't be blamed for.

The universe needed you to be strong to survive. He couldn't waste time on talentless people.

The Royal family had a tradition where they test their children's talent at the age of 6 and they can start their cultivation journey.

Augustus was in a group of 20 other children who were mostly descendants from other branches or his cousins. He stood out as he stood at the front and wore the main family's uniform. It showed he was a direct descendants of the king. One who could one day be king too.

Augustus was believed to be the most talented among his siblings. He had created feats unheard of in their continent.

Augustus could walk in 5 months and talk in 8 months. He was a quite kid who cried when he was hungry or yelled when he wet himself and needed someone to clean him in the early days. Later on he would ask for food or tag at someone's clothes to attract attention and point at his stomach or his diapers.

He started his Royal classes at the age of 3 and had the Royal teacher as his private teacher since his father believed him to be worthy teaching. This lead to unnecessary gaining of attention from his brothers and other wives.

He knew that the tallest trees get hit by the strongest winds. His experience in novels told him that in the Royal palace unless you are the king you can't relax and put down your guard.

He had also started his basic training and the basics of the sword. He was trained by the Captain of his mother's guards. They were from his mother's kingdom which was also a level 5 kingdom.

The captain approved greatly of the Prince. As he knew the boy was hardworking and extremely talented in martial arts and combat. He could only use the word,Monster.

The Prince got the basics to the master grade. His sword could be coated with a tiny about of Sword Qi on it. This showed his immense talent in the way of the sword.

It was not like the kingdom did not have someone who could use sword qi. They did but what mattered was his age. When he first used sword qi he was at the age of 5.

When the people heard about this everyone was shocked people belief. Many started called him the next king. Cause they never had a Prince this talent in their kingdom's history, wait the whole continent never heard of such a talent.

All Holy ranked sects had sent an envoy to try and get them to be their holy son. However to everyone's surprise he rejected them bluntly saying,"After birth I was a Prince."

Those words were enough to declare his determination to complete for the throne not cultivation. Many thoughts his words were rubbish and bluffing of a 5 year old. He maybe talented but he didn't have anyone supporting him since the many other's had a massive head start.

The 9th Prince was at the age of 24 while the first Prince was 48 years old. He would need more than talent to catch up. His father had once come and asked him to join one sect and grow up to be a sword protector but he refused.

His father's action were met with mixed feelings from him and his mother. It was evident he didn't want him to compete with his siblings but become a sword protector of the king and kingdom.

He was steady fast in his cultivation and the war game. He spent the first two years doing nothing but sleep, eat, cultivate and enjoy the war game.

After he started his lessons and basic training he didn't not even stop as he knew the key to success was consistency.

He looked around the hall and saw it was crowded. He could see some of his older siblings were here already. His mother was seated on the stage giving him a reassuring smile.
