As the group makes their way through the dark corridors of the abandoned research station, they come across a group of rogue scientists who had been hiding there for years. The scientists, who had been conducting illegal experiments on genetic engineering, had been hiding from the authorities for years.
"You need to leave this place now," one of the scientists says. "They'll come for us soon enough, and we don't want to be caught in the crossfire."
"But we need your help," Kira says. "We're trying to find out what happened to our genetic modifications."
The scientist looks at them, his face softening. "I see. Well, I might be able to help you. Follow me."
The scientists lead the group to a secret laboratory hidden deep within the station. Inside, they find advanced technology and equipment that they have never seen before.
"This is amazing," Marcus says as he examines one of the machines.
"This is where we conducted our experiments," the scientist says. "We were trying to create a new breed of humans, ones that could survive in any environment. But something went wrong. The experiments went too far, and we lost control of our creations."
The group listens in shock as the scientist tells them about the horrors of their experiments. They realize that the modifications they thought were a gift may have been the result of something much darker.
"But can you help us figure out what happened to us?" Kira asks.
The scientist nods. "I believe I can. But it won't be easy. We need to access the main computer in the station to find the answers we seek. And we'll have to be careful not to attract any unwanted attention."
The group nods in agreement, and they set off to find the main computer, determined to uncover the truth behind their genetic modifications.
As the group makes their way through the station, they come across a group of mercenaries who had been hired to protect the station from intruders.
"What are you doing here?" one of the mercenaries demands, pointing his weapon at them.
"We're looking for answers," Kira says. "We need to access the main computer."
"The main computer is off-limits," the mercenary says. "Only authorized personnel are allowed to access it."
"We understand that, but this is important," Marcus says. "Our genetic modifications are tied to this station, and we need to know what happened to us."
The mercenary hesitates, looking at them with suspicion. But after a moment, he lowers his weapon. "Fine. I'll take you to the main computer. But you'd better be telling the truth."
The group follows the mercenary to the main computer, a massive machine that takes up an entire room. The mercenary enters a code on the keypad, and the door to the room slides open.
"Go ahead," the mercenary says. "But remember, we're watching you."
The group approaches the computer, and Kira begins to type in a command to access the system. But before she can do anything, an alarm blares through the station.
"What's happening?" Marcus says, looking around nervously.
"It's the authorities," the mercenary says. "They've found us. We need to leave, now."
The group starts to run towards the exit, but they are met by a group of armed officers. The mercenaries fight back, but they are outnumbered. Kira, Marcus, and the rest of the group are forced to retreat back to the laboratory, where they barricade themselves inside.
"We need to figure out a way to escape," Kira says, looking around at the group. "And we need to do it quickly."
