A ball of blue flames condensed in front of Derek's sword, and then it shot through the air towards his enemy. Only Nefar was already prepared for it, because before the ball hit him metal from every corner of the ship flowed towards him and in an instant formed an armor around him, the ball hit and exploded in hot red flames but Nefar was unscathed. Derek turned to watch another cloaked figure he had seen with them before standing there with a cane in his hand.
"Mage!" he shouted to Isanna to warn her and moved to attack him but Nefar got in his way in an instant.
Isanna and Ester were fighting toe to toe, now Isanna knew how Ester was keeping up with her, a mage or maybe even two were providing her support. Isanna's sword grew yellow and it cut through Ester's sword like water but the next moment the metal melted back into the sword and it was back to normal.
"I see you are finally getting serious, " said Ester.
"You should pray not, " she said and slashed her sword straight down and sent an arc of energy at her, it cut right through the floor of the boat, but Ester dodged it by swirling around. Isanna was waiting for that and pushed a large amount of air in front of her to create a vacuum which pushed her forward with tremendous speed. Ester just as she turned expecting Isanna's attack threw daggers at her, Isanna dodged them barely and slammed into her with both of their swords clashing into each other.
"Let me teach you what happens when I get serious, " said Isanna. Ester was expecting her to do something with her sword and so she moved aside but at that instant, Isanna's fist came from under their swords and skammed in the bottom of her jaw, sending a couple of her teeth flying upward.
The mages acted quickly and began to heal her but Isanna kicked the crouched woman in the stomach and then with the hilt of her sword in the back of her neck. She went down with a thud and fell unconscious, she turned to the mages who were supporting her.
"Heal her all you want now, she is not waking up soon, " she said and went for the mages next.
Nefar's eyes were growing crazier and crazier as their fight continued, he was also getting bigger by the second, his blows getting stronger. Nefar's affinity was his own body, he was a strange strength type, Derk had countered this ability of his in the past by relying on the loss of speed that he had as his mass grew bigger. But he had gotten better now and was maintaining his speed it also had to do with the mage who had a very good eye and covered all the openings that Nefar was leaving in his defense. Every time Derke moved in for a sure strike, the mage would attack from the sides, it was hard to keep track of the two.
Nefar was now twice his size, his sword just as big but then a very fortunate thing happened and Isanna came to join the attack. As expected she went for the mage having taken care of two others just before, she wasn't expecting much fight but she was wrong the large cane the mage was holding was powerful and he knew some very terrible spells.
When Isanna reached his range she suddenly grew still where she was standing she couldn't move her body and then she was blown away into a side wall with great force, her armor took the most of the damage.
She kneeled where she was and placed her sword on her arms like a small canon, it glowed yellow like before only the light grew around it like metal and turned into a gun from which a light bullet blasted through and hit the mage he tried to stop it, but Isanna wanted to end the fight soon, so she pulled all her force into it, and it blasted through the defenses he put and shot straight through his body from one end to other. The man gulped blood out of his mouth and fell straight down on the floor.
Nefar knew he was going to end up just like that soon, his anger at being defeated by Derek once more was too much, and he went out of control, mana inside him turned into explosive power and he exploded with a great roar. The roar was heard clearly by everyone on the other boat and they all looked at each other in fear, the leviathan let out a slow rumble but it vibrated through the very heart of everyone, it was like a volcano waking up. Derek and Isanna knew what was coming they needed to get out of there, they ran for the hole and jumped through it, Nefar followed crying but he was too big to fit through the hole. Isanna was too exhausted to create the air bubble again and Derek wasn't sure he could take them away alone. But then something grabbed them from behind and took them away from the ship as fast as possible. They looked back alarmed to see it was Fiona, and she had somehow controlled several large fishes to act as their rides. They made as much distance from the ship as possible, because the next moment a mammoth-sized leviathan with unnatural speed had attacked the ship, in a few seconds the whole ship was turned to rubble. The fishes ran away frantically, Fiona had to force the fishes to stay calm and take them away from the leviathan and back to their own ship.
Mary had ordered full blast to the ship, and Ron had protested hard because he thought they were still in the ship, but as they were about to reach the glacier a large wave hit the boat, it spilled water on the deck, and when the water flowed away three bodies were laying on the floor. They all rushed to help them up.
"I am fine, I am fine," said Isanna.
"Me too," said Fiona.
"What happened?" asked Ron.
"Nothing, everything went according to the plan," said Derek and moved away like he had just taken a shower and was now going to bed.
"That was according to the plan?" Fiona asked appalled.
"Don't worry that's his way of saying you did great," said Isanna.
"Marty now get us out of here," said Isanna.
"As you order madam," saluted Marty but they were already turning around the glacier and the leviathan and the ship were out of sight now.
