The Silver Esper [Stopped]

[Mature content] There are depictions of violence/gore and abuse towards characters. There is also swearing as well in this story. __________________________________________________________________ People with abilities, powers of which normal humans can not use. Monster's, freaks, people have called those with these abilities with such names, but there is one name that became attached to them eventually, Esper. The strongest of all abilities is physic, an ability that makes nearly anything possible for a skilled user. Sent to another world similar to her original she lives as Avalon Kanze a girl with rocky blood relations. Living in a country that didn't exist in the other world Niahurii, she is forced by her blood relations to join the military as a man. Unwilling, but the deal they strike is the only reason for her doing so. Avalon's lazy days in the military begin to change when that man appeared. Plans begin to change, new conflicts and allies begin to arrive. Can she keep her identity a secret or will they learn the truth? But most of all can she keep her darkest secret, the truth about her 'disease' and condition from everyone. __________________________________________________________________ "I can't believe they are forcing you to do this just to cut ties with them. How ridiculous since they've never treated you like family." "There is nothing I can do but to do this... as a man. On the bright side, we get to see the inner works of things here so we can use the useful points." "How can you be so optimistic when they are sending you to a suicide unit." "I've already died once and experienced true hell on earth. This is honestly child's play in comparison. So I see no reason to be afraid." Avalon sighed as she tightened the bandage around her chest. "Besides this world is behind in comparison. My ability will ensure I survive. So don't worry once it's all said and done. We will no longer stand for them. I will change this world from my 'home'. So dear brother be ready for the 2nd coming of Raijia's Silver Esper."

Crumbling Rock

Lukas decided to see how the recruits were doing, he could tell the Roan was likely going to have a good time if 'he' kept up his current pace. 'He was watching everyone's attempt before him and has adapted it seems. You won't notice it at a glance but he clearly has planned it out. Shane… he was right that his twin was special.' Lukas thought as he watched Roan go through the course.

Avalon was nearing the top of the rock wall and was reaching her hand up above her to grab the ledge. As she reached for the ledge with one hand grasping it her second hand began to go for it when suddenly her footholds begun to crumble but she didn't have a chance to do anything before that completely broke out from under her. She let out a scream as her feet begun to dangle in the air and only one hand was holding her up. But she could tell this hold wasn't going to last she was originally reaching for a sturdier hold with her other hand when she noticed the poor state of the one she was using.

Avalon's gaze sharpened as she noticed that what she was holding onto was cracking away from the wall. The area was quite large that she couldn't see and immediate holds nearby were too dangerous to just jump and hope to find one. 'Damn… will I need to use my ability?' Avalon hissed as her arm begun to tremble slightly.

She could hear people's surprise around her that the wall had crumbled underneath her. She didn't freak out as that would cause more issues and will likely cause the ledge she was holding onto to fall faster. "Stay back! The ledge I'm is about to collapse!" Roan growled as she gripped tighter and begun to look around to see what she might be able to do.

Avalon looked behind her and noticed not too far away was a rope climb that was only slightly lower than the rock wall she was currently on. She did a quick physics calculation in her head to see if it was possible to do what she was planning. But before she could double-check the ledge begun to crack even more 40 seconds after that the footing underneath her collapsed. She placed both feet against the wall as she clicked her tongue.

"I got nothing to really lose here." Avalon sighed. Then the ledge broke as soon as it did Avalon let go and pushed off with all her might sending herself away from the wall. She spun around in the air making her stomach face towards the ground. She continued on course for the rope and as soon as her fingertips of her right hand touched the rope she grabbed it tight then grabbed it with her other hand.

The rope swung forward and it began to slide through her hand causing it to burn but she didn't let go. She continued to hold on and she stopped herself from falling. Blood trickled from her hand but her face wasn't pale in the slightest rather her eyes danced in excitement. She couldn't help but smirk slightly as her heart raced from the excitement of this life and death situation. But even after that, she wasn't about to give up and begun to climb the rope.

Out of everyone that witnessed the sight Antonio was the only one who wasn't surprised or really feared for Avalon's life in the situation. He's known her for so long and is well aware that she's hard to kill… also knowing her personality she was going to finish the course even after what just happened. He just crossed his arms and let out a sigh. The shard of rock had hit the ground and broke into pieces to many's surprise.

Avalon who has climbed to the top pulled herself up and stood on top of the bar. She carefully walked back to the pole and stood on it. Looked at her slightly bloodied palms then tapped her foot. Without a second thought, she broke off into a sprint racing across the metal bar and jumped off the other pole sending herself towards the rock wall in which she made it too and gripped tightly to some holds and begun to climb up like it was nothing. Ignoring the pain in her hands she made it to the top then took the zip line down and completed the course.

Antonio held out her gloves to her which she took without much of a word panting slightly with a slight cough. Blood dripped to the ground from her hands and fingers. She looked at her hand with a bored expression. She moved her fingers a little causing more blood to appear from her wounds on her palms and fingers. 'Can still move them so that's good.' Avalon thought as she looked at her hand. Her stomach then growled she groaned slightly and placed her arm on her stomach. "I forgot I also haven't had breakfast. I'm hungry."

"That's what you get for not eating a proper meal since breakfast yesterday." Antonio muttered crossing his arms with an exasperated sigh.

"Well… it's not like I'm gonna die from being hungry… I can go at least another 12 days."

"You are not starving yourself."

"I wasn't saying I was going to, I'm just saying I could go another 12 days." Roan huffed glancing over at Antonio was a neutral expression. More blood dripped from her fingers and she frowns slightly but more out of annoyance than anything. "You think I'd be allowed to wash my hands? There's defiantly stuff in the cuts." Roan muttered.

"Do you even have any bandages right now?"

"… no, I don't. I use the last of them a few months ago after Ryan got badly cut."

The first to snap out of it was Capt Klein. "How are you so calm after what just happened?"

"Is there a reason not to be?" Roan asked with an eyebrow raised and her head tilted slightly.

"You almost died!"

"So what? Is there a reason for me to be afraid of death?"

"How-?"

"… would you fear something you're well accustomed to? Something you've experienced?" Roan sighed with a looked of boredom.

Avalon looked at Antonio and leaned against him her arms slung around his shoulders. "Tor can I have some bandages, please?" Roan sighed looking at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Seriously? Get your bloody hands off me your going to get your blood all over my clothing." Antonio huffed pulling her arms off his shoulders.

"Aaah! Jerk! I can't put my gloves on like this. I don't want them to be filled with blood." Roan exclaimed trying to guilt-trip Antonio, though that wasn't going to work.

"Ah whatever, I guess I go without bandages and go enjoy lunch." Roan sighed with a wave of her hand she walked off. The only reason she did that was the instructor earlier told them after the last person went (Avalon/Roan) they were dismissed. Avalon, went over to the smaller fountain and turned on the water and begun to wash the dirt off her hands. As the dirt begins to clear she was able to see the damage that was done to her hand from the rope and rock wall. "Well, they shouldn't need any stitches at least. But this is some damn nasty rope burn." Avalon mumbled looking at her hands as the dirt and blood were wash to the ground.

Avalon let out a slight sigh, before standing up she then turned to be face to face with a man. He grabbed her wrist before frowning slightly at the sight of her hands. He held on to her hand and turned around and begun to take her somewhere.

"H-hey! Where are we going?"

"The infirmary. Your hands need to be treated." he replied curtly.

"There's an infirmary here whoah." Roan gasped a little surprised.

"Captain, what are you doing here?"

"There was an incident during training with the new recruits, and this one got injured."

'So he is the captain of the unit like I thought.' Avalon thought to herself as she looked at (Lukas) the man in front of her.

"Go on show them your hands." He ordered Avalon just nodded and held out her palms.

"Oh my, that is something. What did you do."

"It was mainly the rope though the rock wall also had a part at tarring my hands to shreds."

Avalon was then pulled over to a bed and forced to sit down as the medic went and grabbed some disinfectant. She sat quietly as the medic treated the wound with the disinfected winching slightly when it initially touched the skin. Avalon then looked over at Lukas. "Something the matter captain? You look as if you have something on your mind… that you wish to ask me?" Roan asked tilting her head slightly.

"Does it not hurt?"

"Well, sure it hurts. The nerves in my hands are screaming out in pain from this. But I just ignore it. There is no real reason to scream out. No point to it at all. Besides, there are more painful things in the world than this." Roan chuckled slightly with a slightly dark look on her face looking down at her hands with a slight smile. "This is honestly nothing," Roan added as she looked at the peeling skin that was around the burn area.
