Mental struggle

Gregor stopped thinking for a second and lifted his sword above his head, he dashed toward the beast that wouldn't judge his last prey meaty enough to be worth his time.

Just like the other villagers, Gregor was far from being ready for the assault, but he did step forward when he noticed it wasn't as big as he thought, seen from a closer range.

He and a dozen of men were fighting against the wind, like Meryl had planned it. She was alone and calmly walking to the beast that was still devouring the raw meat with chunks big enough to choke on it after every bite.

Meryl was limited in time, her energy was nearly depleted from the time she spent as Chloe and now that she was using her energy to mess with tens of people, she felt how important was the toll and her capacities diminishing.

She held her hands together while the bone-crushing noises entered her delicate ears. The melody made her nauseous, her fingers shook to the memories she had of Daniela and her husband.
