Chapter 2

"Home, sweet home." Muna squealed happily.

Crystal's house was cleverly tucked away in the secluded depths of the Talon forest, surrounded by a towering canopy of trees.

The mansion was constructed with rich, white, intricate carvings; the exterior reflected timeless elegance.

Inside, the interior was a blend of lavish furnishings, while plush carpets cushioned every step, lending a sense of warmth to the space.

Crystal stepped into her white and sisilver-themedoom, pulled back the heavy black hoodie and cascades of her long, lustrous white hair spilt out gracefully and fell to her waist.

"Urghh! Cryssy, you are so dirty." Muna said while making sounds of disgust.

Crystal rolled her eyes, took off her cloak and black clothes and stood in front of her exquisite white mirror.

She was truly dirty, as she had smudges of dirt all over her from rolling on the forest floor with her target earlier.

She looked at her unusual features with a small, sad smile. They often reminded her of home—the Mortimer pack—before the attack, as her mother often said that she was born dead but the moon goddess breathed life into her so she came back to life with distinct features.

Her white hair and silver eyes were not the only unique things about her. She had a beautiful, glowing skin texture and was also tall with a very feminine, curvy body.

Her wolf, Muna, was pure white and bigger than most male wolves.

Crystal was unusually fast and also possessed a healing aura where a soothing, rejuvenating glow came from her hands to heal wounds and ailments of both werewolves and other creatures alike.

"My baby girl was touched by the goddess." Her mother, Luna Fiona, would always say with a pleasant laugh.

Above all, she had rarely been beaten in a fight. Well, this particular physical feature could also be attributed to the training she got from the brotherhood, Crystal thought with a shudder.

Thoughts of the training temple where she grew up after her pack was wiped out made her grimace, as they were partially responsible for how she had turned out.

"Uhh, smelly adult female still here." Muna reminded Crystal with a sing-song voice.

"Alright, alright, I am heading to the bathroom now!" Crystal said and stepped into her bathroom for a quick bath.

She was tired from the sleepless night she had, thanks to the nightmare and her mission that morning.

She stepped into her room after her bath, threw on a delicate chemise and smiled at the warmth from the candlelight casting its soft glow.

Even though she was always clothed with heavy black cloaks and hoodies and could take down any werewolf in the blink of an eye, Crystal loved being in touch with her feminine side; she loved looking and feeling beautiful, and that's one of the reasons she would laugh so hard when she thought about how people addressed her as male Chris.

It was her joke on the world.

With white hair cascading down to her lower back and a serene expression gracing her features, she made her way to her study room to check her telegram for messages, as she usually received assassination texts from clients through cyphers.

She replied to some of them and ignored others but the coded message waiting for her was one she could not ignore; it had the royal seal of an alpha, which meant one thing: the target had to be someone important, either another alpha or someone with a commensurate rank.

"Finally!" Crystal said with twinkling eyes and lips curled in a sly, mischievous grin as she looked at the message because she knew that the target would not be alone.
