A rising problem

The twins stared at Glitch with terrified eyes as they held each other protectively.

Seeing that and the fear and incredible wariness in their eyes, Glitch felt an incredible disconnect from the trusting eyes that they used to see him with.

At least the slight tinge of bravery in them couldn't be mistaken.

'I forgot this is the past.'

Silently grinding his teeth he glanced at them before behind him and gestured towards them.

"Come here!" 'My throat hurts' "The mad scientists who captured us is preo- distracted by good guys and we should leave!"

Hearing those words the one with reddish hair spoke up. "How do we know you are not lying?"

"I'm the same as you see?" 'It still hurts' He grabbed his shirt and pulled it down to reveal the scar mark around his neck.

Wincing slightly at the pressure he has put on his brand new voice box, the unfamiliar feeling sending tiny waves of pain through his neck.

'Holy hell I want some water.'

Pushing through the pain he spoke again while anxiously looking backwards.

"Come on! We have to move before-!"

[Leaving so soon my pretties?] A mechanically modulated voice came from above before a giant mechanical spider fell from above.

The mechanical eye turned towards Glitch and the twins as the mechanical limbs adjusted themselves from the fall and pushed it off the ground.

[You can't do that yet, we still have so many-!]

The machines words were immediately cut short by a dark blade striking up straight from the ground.

Slicing apart the machine as it wasn't covered in a multilayered powerful alloy made from monster metal, the black knife cut straight through the motherboard and short circuited the mechanical beast.

Falling on its side now that the servos weren't trying to balance it, the machine froze in place.

"Yeah yeah old bast- Oh my throat."

Feeling his voice break and turn a notch quieter he glanced at the twins who were staring at him dumbfoundedly.

"Let's get out of here." Gesturing towards the doorway the twins absentmindedly nodded at him despite the quiet voice.

"Ok" x2

"Good"

Nodding towards them Glitch glanced at the empty hallways, the echoes of battle still resounding from somewhere far away but was definitely nearer than before.

Slinking out of the doorway, the twins soon followed.

Generating a small black blade hovering above his palm he glanced at the twins and slowly moved forwards.

"Hey you"

The pale haired one stared directly at Glitch while being supported by and supporting her sister.

"What is your name?"

"What?"

She shrugged off her sisters arm as she slowly limped towards him.

"I said what is your name."

"I don't know but what are your abilities? The ones the soul record told you?" He clarified.

"Don't turn the conversation around and just tell me your name, it's not hard."

'Oh it really is' Pausing in his steps he continued his previous words. "My powers are Space manipulation, what did the soul record tell you yours was?"

"I said what is your name!?" Shouting out in an outburst that even surprised herself, she nevertheless glared at Glitch.

"Umm..." He popped his lips. I"sn't right that you tell me your name before you ask for mine?"

Her eyes barely flickered at the logic as she spoke "My name is Glacia (Gla-shia) and that is my sister Ignia" She pointed at her red headed sister before staring at Glitch.

"Now what is your name?"

"Umm..." Hesitance filled his face as he stared at his former comrades, a myriad of thoughts sparking through his tiny head.

'Should I tell them?'

In this world much like many others, a name was important.

A name would serve as the basis of your existence because things without a name wouldn't be remembered.

A name would have many associative meanings from your appearance, capabilities, personality and skills.

If you didn't have a name but you imprinted your existence into someone's mind, they would assign a name to that figure.

But in this case with the twins who used to be his past teammates of the Heavenly Hall he hesitated.

Recalling the words that the devilish woman had said about the twins being killed by drowning in lava and being frozen in a glacier respectively.

They had died by themselves without anyone remembering their names and most likely believing in them as the heroes they were before now only recalling them as villains who betrayed humanity.

But in any case, the question remained.

Should he tell them his real name and risk them getting hurt in the future? Or should he let them be oblivious and let them live a life they wouldn't have if they got involved with him.

Silently mulling over the question, the black spike flew through the air while tracing a black aura cutting straight at a small camera embedded in the side of it.

Walking farther into the industrial complex Glitch felt compelled to answer and opened his mouth.

"Umm... Glacia, Igni..."

Luckily, before he could answer, several hurried footsteps of metal on metal followed by brief gun shots arose behind them.

"To the side!"

Hissing to them, he quickly opened a small side closet where a similar room to the ones they were in was located.

Quickly sneaking inside Glitch closed the door behind them and moved his hands to create a several sharp black spikes hovering around them.

Hearing the footsteps which were thudding their way slowly reach their position, Glitch held his finger to his lips.

Hearing the footsteps stop right in front of the doorway, the black knives in the air quietly hummed as they slowly spun in the air.

A tense silence fell on the trio as Glitch stared straight at the doorway, ready to launch the series of black kives into whoever was unlucky enough to be in front of it.

"Hey."

A whisper from the side attracted his attention.

It was Ignia.

"My power is fire creation."

As Glitch slowly took in that information, the door slowly slid open.

Tensing silently, he calmed down upon realizing it wasn't the machines belonging to the Mad scientist that he was so wary.

It was in fact the militia that had come over here in the first place to bust them.

Seeing the militia in their fully equipped mechanical armor which would provide them shared details from everyone Glitch silently smiled.

'Okay good, now just to put on a show.'

Throwing the black spikes immediately at the militia a pained shout was heard as the man in front immediately collapsed.

With the black blades sinking straight the armor and going past it, Glitch moved his hands again and caused the blades to fly forwards.

Quickly reacting a blue shield appeared and cracked underneath the black blades which slammed right into them and burst into black particles.

"Enemies!...?"

Shouting loudly the silver plated militia stared through their blue visors on the masks with confusion.

One of the soldiers muttered from behind the cracked blue shield slowly healing itself "Kids...?"

---

"Yes commander, the mothe-" The guard glanced at the three children besides him before changing his words. "-rFricker was worse then we thought."

He kept his hand on the side of his helmet while nodding his head along every once in a while.

"Yes sir, there are a thousand and counting victims being recovered from the lab."

Glancing at the children, a hover car slowly neared him, naturally moving away the back of the car opened and blocked the mans view of the children.

Peacefully sitting on top of a battery crate, the twins slowly nibbled on an army ration while Glitch just stared vigilantly at his surroundings, blade at the ready to pierce whoever was near.

Stopping besides them the box like cars back opened and a soldier covered in the same gear as the others albeit slightly more scratched appeared.

"Hey kids, orders from above I'm going to transport you guys to a safe place, Hop in."

Gesturing to the back of the open police vehicle, the box like car dully hummed in silence as the door was swung wide open and accepted the three unsuspecting kids into the,

Taking a look around, the steel guard naturally slinked back into the car as it began hovering off.

And as the steel guards bustled around basecamp with various plans in mind, it didn't take long before someone noticed something off.

"Captain! The kids are gone!"

"What!?"

---

As he laid back and rested against the steel hull of the transportation device which hovered its way to the special care orphanage for the gifted.

A question rose on his mind.

'Actually, isn't this the wrong way to head towards the gifteds orphanage?'

Besides passing straight through the various checkpoints which was the same as before, the path they had taken when outside the camp was different.

At first Glitch thought this was normal as his memories might be slightly foggy.

But when the gigantic walls shadow was cast on them, that question immediately rose.

'Aren't we just going to the wastelands?'

With that question ringing in his head, the hovering automobile puttered its way through one of the many entrances and outside of the steel walls.

Glancing outside of the steel hull in a hope to take a glance at the outside, the barred windows slammed shut.

Seeing that he stared questioningly at the man who was besides them.

Seeing the question the man smiled comfortingly and spoke.

"Don't worry kid, we're bringing you somewhere safe-"

'Well that is full of bull shit'

Having those thoughts Glitch slowly prepared to split apart the soldier alongside the driver before they could get to far.

"Hey kids?" The guy in the back smirked as he grabbed the handle rests tightly.

"You might want to hold on tight."
