Finally, going home. To a bigger bed, to my future wife, to my family. Nikki and Charles are here to pick me up, they are packing my things while I sign my discharge papers.
"Well, Mr Forsythe, if you feel any pain, you don't understand, or you feel something is wrong, don't hesitate to call," Doctor Khumalo says.
"Thank you, Doctor," I reply, and he leaves the room.
I look over at Nikki, and she's already smiling at me. She comes to me and wraps her arms around my shoulders.
"Ready to go home?"
I smile, "You know it, baby, can't wait for some tasty food."
Nikki giggles and kisses my lips gently.
"Come on, you two, let's get going. You know how your father doesn't like it when you're late," Charles says as he picks up my bag.
I chuckle, the joke still lives.
