Colors and Cores

Raven walked into the basement of the church, thinking about safety routes to take to get to his safehouse he prepared, he was not much of a talker, but he was a planner. At first when he heard he had to be responsible for a girl he barely knew, he didn't really like the idea so much so that he dreaded meeting her, but after meeting her just for a short while he came to like her, she brought out motherly instincts in him which he didn't even know he could feel "could men could have maternal instincts?" , he was pretty much confused.

He walked in upon Evans and Damien and then noticed something was off about the both of them, his first thought was something had happened to the girl, which made him panic. 

"Is something wrong with Athena?" Raven asked as he rushed to her cell, but she looked the same as before he left so he concluded that she was alright. He glanced at the other and raised a brow at them while crossing his hands. 

"What happened now?" 

"Nothing, Damien's just worried, but it's all good" Evans said while standing up before glancing down at Damien and extending an arm to Damien to lift him up, while Raven could tell Evans was brushing him off, he said nothing. 

'We should talk, about what we'll do after we leave here and also the powers or abilities we gained, because according to Athena's dad we'd have powers, most of us will after the red moon, so gather around" he continued while walking to Athena's cell and sitting down before resting his shoulder on the iron bars of the cell. 

"Since Damien isn't aware, Athena's father basically asked us to look into our inner body and try to visualize what we feel, it's complicated and i can't explain it perfectly but once you look into your inner self you'll understand" 

Raven and Damien both nodded before coming to sit next to him, forming a small circle Infront of Athena's cell, while sitting they closed their eyes and did as Athena's dad had instructed them into knowing their abilities earlier. According to him, most of the people would notice it when they're in a life-threatening situation, so at the beginning of the apocalypse, most of them would discover their abilities, but there was a different method to know and that is looking for the core within your body, normally a human would not be able to do this but the red moon had altered their bodies so now it was possible, according to him all they had to do was concentrate and try looking at their inner bodies which was surprisingly not difficult to do. 

Evans opened his eyes he waited for the two to open their eyes before speaking "i have four cores- Red, yellow, gold, and brown.

"I also have four- green, blue, light blue, and purple" stated Raven.

"Black, silver, purple and grey" Damien said.

Evans had a weird look in his face when he heard the color of Damien cores "Dude, were you training to be assassin or something?" Damien just looked confused.

" Coming down to business, Athena's dad said it was possible for one person to have two to three cores, one is relatively normal and it's the most common, two is also normal, three isn't rare but four is rare, he doesn't know who will end with how many cores or what color of cores the person would have because it's spontaneous, meaning it depend on the person and the most prominent emotion in his/her character before the red moon". He said before unconsciously taking out three bottles of water from his space and passing around, then drinking before he continued. 

Damien felt that his worldview was collapsing but he kept quiet because if Evans showed him his secrets, then that means Evans thinks he's trustable, Meanwhile Raven had a tiny smirk on his face. 

"Now coming to the colors of core to know what your powers are, the deeper the shade of color the stronger your ability is, now Red is fire which is obvious" 

"Blue core indicates control over water or even over a water body, but there's also an advantage that is the ability to produce water from collecting molecules in the air". 

"A light blue symbolizes mastery over ice only". 

"A green core symbolizes nature manipulation, those with this core can control plants, and heal others and themselves, the greener the core the better while a brown core means earth manipulation". 

"Grey core symbolizes a space; each space varies according to different cores" This sentence made the whole of Damien's face to light up causing both Raven and Evans to roll their eyes.

"A black core would be shadow manipulation/poison, poison is the common one the core breeds while shadow manipulation is the rare one and no you're not a necromancer Damien". Damien instantly deflated like a balloon.

"Purple core would be telepathy/mind control, this ability has a hybrid which is emotional manipulation or seduction/charm while black would indicate shadow manipulation/poison. 

"Indigo would be Telekinesis"

"Orange core which symbolizes energy manipulation, basically absorption of energy from the surrounding and converting it into yours, it's one of the strongest but you have to have the ability to absorb the energy, store and convert while also maintaining it, while having this type of core is good it can be the death of the user" Evans said with a smug look on his face.

"Say Raven, do you think Evans can absorb energy from the surrounding and convert it without killing himself?" Damien asked Raven with a teasing look on his face.

"Nah, i don't think so, that guy is brash, no wonder he got all this cores that basically goes boom" Raven said with a thoughtful look on his face.

"That guy is sitting right in front of you, and yes i can absorb the energy and Raven I am not brash" Evans said while gritting his teeth.

"Ah- he's here, I wasn't aware, sounds like it's a sore topic for him" Raven continued in a sing-song voice, seeing Raven like this they both burst into laughter.

"Okay okay enough of you guys teasing me, yellow core indicates control over electricity manipulation including lightening" Evans continued

"Silver core indicates time manipulation, so now you all have an idea of the color of cores you have and what abilities you also have" 

"Seems like both I and Damien both have purple cores, which is strangely weird" Evans seemed to have thought of something then said

"Maybe one of you guys have an indigo core, try lifting something up with mental power, it should be easy, just connect with the core you want to use, and the power would come naturally" Both Damien and Raven lifted their hands in opposite directions and tried to move a tiny rock, at first nothing happened until the rock in Raven's direction twitched a little and moved about 3cm off the floor before dropping back down, while Raven had sweats on his forehead.

"There we have it, Damien is telepathy while yours is Telekinesis" Evans stated before standing up and moving to where he dropped his bag, he fished out his laptop to use. 

For the next two days, they used their abilities in the deeper part of the basement while the world was progressing into chaos, Athena slept. It turned out that Damien had control over time, telepathy/mind control and poison. In the evening of the third day, all three of them gathered in front of Athena cell with the intention to break the lock since they did not have the key with them, Raven used his telekinesis to bring the key on Athena's bag to Evans, it was relatively easy since he had practiced moving objects. Evans grabbed the key and opened the cell door, as soon as the cell door was opened all three rushed in to check up on Athena, they saw that she looked like she was asleep which was worrying, they wondered if she was in a coma or if her body was still adjusting to her seal being opened. 

"I am still worried; she looks like she is asleep but how can, we be sure?" Damien asked 

"We should take her to see Micah, he'll be able to tell what's wrong" Evans said 

"He would be able to tell, but the question is can we trust him?" Raven, the rational one in the group of three asked. 

Who is Micah? Damien asked.
