The Awakening

She tucks the book under her pillow and calls it night for that day . The next day she wakes up and finds herself alone . She had thought either Daisy or Naira would wake her up but there was no one .' Where are they ?'

She steps outside only to find herself alone in the middle of the forest . The village had disappeared overnight . As soon as she places her foot outside the house , the house behind her disappears too . Now she was all alone , lost in the forest .

She walked for what felt like an hour and realized there was something on the tree behind her . She turns around to have a look at it , but whatever it was dissapears . " Hello! Who's there ? I know you're in there , show yourself ." At this point Scarlett's voice sounded more like a plead than an order .

Scarlett turns around and takes a step forward only to realize she had stepped on a snake . She starts running as the snake leans forward and follows her to bite her . She kept running until she reached a dead end and that was it , a moment she could have never imagined . She was going to be bitten by a snake and die of poisoning . The snake comes forward to bite her as she slams her eyes shut and just like that the snake penetrates it's fangs into her skin .

" Ahhh....." Scarlett wakes up to reality . " What happened ? Daisy heard you scream ." Naira rushes into the room with concern all over her face ." Nothing , it was just a bad dream ." She takes a deep breath in as she realizes it was just a dream . " Wait ! Scarlett ! Have your eyes always been red ? "

This question shook Scarlett to the core . Her eyes have always been hazel , not red , never red. She rushes past Naira to the washroom to see if it was a joke . But no , it wasn't a joke , her eyes had really turned red . What Naira had forgotten to mention was that Scarlett's wine red hairs had also changed color , they were black now .

She was horrified . What was happening ? What's wrong with her eyes and hair ? She ran to Naira and asked her what was going her . " It's your transformation . This means your awakening has begun and soon you'll have tapped into your powers . As soon as you completely transform , you'll be back to your normal form ." The woman's emotions were written all over her face , she was very happy . For the first time since Scarlett has met her , she saw her soo happy .

But how long was this transformation going to take ? How long would Scarlett have to be stuck in this new form ? She wasn't very fond of her new look , it made her look gothic .

She started the day with reading the book her parents had left behind for her . She read every single detail that was mentioned and made a note of the important points in a little journal that she had brought with her .

The following days , all she did was train herself . She tried to summon her powers but nothing would happen . Slowly many things about her had changed .

She felt more aggressive than before , she would blow up on anyone for small reasons . She also grew a huge tattoo on her back overnight , which she noticed in the shower next day . It was a pair of wings , but not just simple wings , they were huge . Even though the tattoo just covered her back , we could tell from the design that the wings were very huge . The tattoo covered her whole back .

She had started feeling very hot these days . She couldn't sleep with a blanket on while the others slept with comforters . Naira and Daisy found it absurd too .

A few weeks passed by and Scarlett had reached the last stage of her transformation . Today she was going to turn into a Unix , her supernatural form . Everyone in the village was excited . They all gathered at the catacombs near the village and prayed to the gods and goddesses to shower their blessings on Scarlett .

Soon Scarlett arrived in a Red dress which symbolized the phoenixes and waited for her transformation . Everyone indulged themselves in small talks , food and entertainment . A few minutes later everyone heard Scarlett scream at the top of her lungs .

She was transforming . Her bones were being restructured . A pair of wings started growing on her back and she let out an agonizing scream as it tore apart the skin on her back . After a lot of pain and screams , she had fully transformed . She had eyes as dark as the universe . Her fur was violet with black streaks. She was very smiliar to a Phoenix and at the same time she wasn't .

She looked like a majestic creature out of a fairytale and at the same time she looked like a powerful evil creature . Everyone was awestruck by her size , she was huge . Even phoenixes weren't as huge after transformation .

After being in her supernatural form for more than an hour , she was able to transform back to her human form . As soon as she landed on the ground , she lost balance from being in the form of a creature for so long .

As soon as she gained her balance , she found herself on the ground . In just a second Daisy had hugged her so hard , she didn't realize it made her fall to the ground .

They both chuckled . " It was amazing , Scarlett. You just swept everyone off their feet . The way you flow, it was so majestic . Your fur looked so shiny as if someone had conditioned them ." Daisy stopped and laughed at her remark of Scarlett's fur being conditioned . Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at her remark too .

They made their way to the place where food was being served . There Naira was waiting for them with open arms . They ran to her and gave her a tight hug . " I'm so proud of you , Scarlett . You were amazing out there . Your parents would have been really proud of you . I wish they were here to see you . Eat up , it's your celebration . Don't miss out on the delight those humans eat . I don't know what it is , it was Daisy's idea to get them but they're amazing and cold."

Naira walks her way to the other villagers while Daisy was laughing . " Ice cream , that's what she meant . No one here has ever tried ice cream . I know chocolate-chip ice cream is your favorite , when I bought them I realized everyone in the village deserves to taste them too . It tastes like heaven so I bought every box of chocolate-chip ice cream in that town . "

Scarlett was very grateful . She had thought after her parents no one would really consider her likes and dislikes but Daisy seemed to really care about her . Hell , she even went out of Zeldia to buy her favourite ice cream while it was dangerous . Her eyes were filled with tears and she pulled Daisy into a hug . Daisy opened her mouth to ask why she was crying . " Happy tears , don't worry ." Scarlett reassured her before she had the chance to ask the question .

" I have stocked your whole refrigerator with things that you like , so do I get like a bonus hug for that ." They both fell to the ground laughing as they couldn't hold it in anymore .
