Chapter 7

In a certain shopping district, many people had their attention caught by a certain person, that person had a really radiant smile on the face that made the person's beautiful appearance look even more dazzling to both boys and girls of many ages

That person was Yuriko who Takeru accompanied as they walked with their arms intertwined, and the reason for her dazzling smile was the fact that she was going on a date with Takeru

"Ah!"

But then she remembered about one important thing she ended up overlooking

"? What's wrong, Yuriko-san?"

"… I forgot to plan where to go for our date"

"… Do dates have a planned route?"

"They have, don't they?"

"Hm?…"

"Huh?…"

The two looked at each other, and then they looked away as they made thinking faces. Needless to say, they both had zero dating experience and this was the first date they ever had

"Well… … … Do you have somewhere you want to go, Takeru-kun?"

"Huh? Me? Well… Hmmm…"

Takeru whose first line of thought was broken, went back to thinking, this time on whether he needed something

"I need to buy new glasses as spares"

"I see, then let's go buy some"

"You sure?"

"Of course!"

"… Okay, then let's get going"

"Great!"

Now having a destination, they once again went back on walking, after some minutes they arrived at a glasses shop, in there Takeru immediately began wearing some of the glasses in display

"*Wear a pair of glasses*… Nope *Switches to another pair of glasses* … Nope *Switches to yet another pair of glasses* … Nope"

Yuriko who didn't need to wear glasses could only watch Takeru going through the glasses without taking a liking to any of them. Then out of boredom and wanting to help a little, she began looking at some of the glasses on display

"…" <He doesn't appear to like these designs… Neither this one… Or this one… … … It's surprisingly hard to choose glasses, huh>

As Yuriko went over the glasses, she noticed one that caught her attention, it was a pair of glasses with only a bottom frame

"…" <Wow, so these glasses do exist outside of anime and mangas>

"Are you interested in those glasses, Yuriko-san?"

"! Ah, Takeru-kun. Did you finish choosing new glasses for you?"

"Yes, I found these ones"

Takeru showed Yuriko the few ones he had picked, and when she saw the glasses he had picked, she could only think of one thing

<They all look old-fashioned> "They look to be a perfect fit for you"

But she still said something nice

"That's right, how did you try these glasses?"

Yuriko showed Takeru the glasses she was holding, and Takeru picked them up as he looked at them, then he removed his glasses and tried the one Yuriko handed him

"… Nope"

"I see…"

"…"

As Yuriko made a slightly dejected look, Takeru looked at the glasses she handed him, and then looked at Yuriko. She who had her eyes closed, noticed something touched both sides of her head, and then she felt something being placed on her nose

"…"

"…"

Yuriko noticed the pair of glasses she had handed to Takeru was now being worn by her, and that it was Takeru who put it on her. Due to that unexpected move from Takeru, Yuriko stayed silent due to the shock she had received as they both looked each other face to face

"… Yuriko-san?"

"Ah! Y-yes, Takeru-kun?"

"Those glasses look good on you"

"! T-thanks…"

Yuriko who could feel her cheeks getting hotter, raised her head, making use of her being taller than Takeru to hide her blushing cheeks from Takeru. While Yuriko was distracted in her thoughts, Takeru asked one of the clerks to prepare the new glasses for him

"Hmmm… Could you also get a pair of those glasses with fake lenses?"

"For your girlfriend?"

"It… It's not like that…"

Takeru looked away as he slightly blushed, as the female clerk left with a satisfied face after seeing what was in her eyes an innocent couple being embarrassed

Some minutes later

"Here are your glasses, and it'll be this much"

"Thanks, here"

"Thank you for your preference"

After he got the new glasses and paid for them, he turned and went towards Yuriko, who had already taken off the glasses Takeru had put on her and was now looking at some of the glasses to distract herself

"Yuriko-san, I'm done here"

"Ah! Okay"

And they both left the store together, but after doing so Yuriko noticed that something was wrong

"…Hm?… Wait, did you pay for the glasses, Takeru-kun?"

"Yes, I did"

"*Pouts* But I said I would be the one paying"

"Yeah… But I paid for them so deal with it"

"… Pfft! Ahaha!… What's with that answer? I can't stay mad at you like that"

"Yeah, yeah… Also… For you"

"? Is this…"

Takeru handed Yuriko a glasses case without looking at her, which surprised her in a good way

"It's those glasses you showed me…"

"You bought them as a gift to me?"

"Yeah…"

"Can I ask why?"

"Because I thought you liked them"

"Fufu, are you sure it's not because you wanted me to wear them again?"

When Yuriko said that, she emphasized the "you" as she referred to Takeru, while Takeru who noticed what she meant and that she noticed his true reasons for buying those glasses, began to feel embarrassed, so he hurried his steps to hide his blushing and angry pout from Yuriko by staying in front of her

"! I-It's not! Hmpf!"

"Haha! Sorry, sorry… But, I really liked your present, Takeru-kun"

"T-thanks"

Yuriko who had also hurried herself went to Takeru's right and hugged his arm again as she thanked him for the present with a beautiful happy smile, which made him look to the other side to keep his blushing face hidden from her

"Ah! I just remembered that there's a famous pastry shop near here, do you want to go there, Takeru-kun?"

"! Yes, let's go there!"

"… Sure!" <He must really like sweets>

Yuriko was momentarily surprised by Takeru's excited response, to which she correctly assessed as him having a sweet tooth. So with his agreement, they both went to that pastry shop

"C'mon dude, get a grip of yourself. Just because Nanami-san right now is on a date with another boy, that doesn't mean anything for your chances"

"Of course it does! I had to use an entire year to just get to the point of talking to her alone in a room and to call her by her given name!"

"Wow… You're more hopeless than I thought"

"Hey!"

The two dudes talking were Daichi and Yamada, the two had gone out of their homes to buy some mangas and hen-tais

"Anyways, you don't have anything to worry about, mate. You still have the advantage of knowing Yuriko for around a year, so just ramp up your efforts to get her or… Actually, just deal with your cowardice already really"

"Shut up… Also, can you get back that photo you gave me? I haven't been feeling like dying from my lack of sleep"

"Wait… Don't tell me you have been doing it every day?"

"… Yes…"

"Well, sure I can get it back, just bring it to me on Monday, but…My man, if you only had the same amount of courage to talk with Nanami-san, as you have for doing that, you would probably be doing that with Nanami-san herself already"

"Please don't put those ideas in my head"

"Fine, fine. Anyway let's have some sweets at that super famous pastry shop your sister asked us to buy something for her"

"*SIgh* Sure, whatever"

"The bill is on you though"

"Fuck you, Yamada"

And little did Daichi know, that he was about to regret agreeing to go to the pastry shop at that time
