Raiding a Dungeon

Rin spent three days at home with his family enjoying their company and also the sweet natural fragrance and beauty of the environment. He would have loved to go hunt some beasts but they were very rare in this parts which made it safe for living. It had been more than a decade since a sacred beast was spotted near the village. The last time it happened, it was rumored than an unknown legendary knight with unrivaled skills and capabilities appeared and slayed the sacred beast in one go. Everyone begun to praise and worship their savior until he became a tale told by mothers to their little children and fathers to their sons. Rin felt he had spent enough time at home had decided to return back to the capital to increase his stats and raise some money for home.

As for his sister Rose had decided to remain back at home and take care of things back in the village. But she promised not to slack off,Because now a days, the rise in the number of powerful sacred beasts were threatening. If a moment came where there all decided to make a raid, then humanity itself might face extinction. So Rin said good bye to his parents and his friends and took off back to Raven Hill.

Back in the academy, Rose Silver was still the leading knight of the academy. The Sacred Knight's where abouts were unknown but facts revealed that he was a student of Raven academy. If not how was he able to register for the tournament. A knights ranking was shown at the entrance of the academy. Horizontally displayed holographic images displayed the strongest knight in the academy from the right to moving to the left, so before one entered the academy, he or she's eyes would definitely fall on the knight's ranking. Rin's name was nowhere to be seen on the ranking list. That showed how weak Rin was seen in the eyes of everyone however Rose Silver had trained persistently and gone on several hunt raids to make sure she was never humiliated like she was before. Memories of her defeat continued to play over and over again until she couldn't even have a good rest. She finally held her sword invertedly and pierced it through the skull of the beast.

Current Rank: Primary Knight

No artifact or beast soul acquired.

"What in the world?" A few days ago she was a level eight primary knight and now suddenly she had leveled up two levels ahead. She could now evolve into an aristocrat knight. Rose smiled at her sudden achievement.

Also on that afternoon, Rin was in deep need of money,, so he decided to go online to check if there were any private hunting raids he could join. Since he was still a student of the academy, he couldn't join a raid given by the hunting association but he could join a private hunting party. Immediately, a message suddenly popped up below his eyes so he scrolled down and opened the message. It read:

"Is any hunter out there, we are in deep need of a hunter right now, rank doesn't matter."

Rin immediately signed up and asked for the location. Luckily for him, the location wasn't that far from where he was. Some minutes later, Rin arrived there and met them them waiting for him.

"Glad you could make it. I'm Lee wayn." He introduced himself.

"I'm Rin" He replied. Lee wayn immediately made a quick appraisal of Rin's appearance from head to toe. He had his sword tucked at his waist and his bow and some few arrows at his back.

"He looks prepared but he's still a rookie." He said to himself, and to confirm he decided to ask him of his rank.

"Level six Primary Knight" Rin replied.

"Well that's okay, it's not like we want you to fight or anything. Just carry our bags and do what I tell you. When we're done with the raid, we'll share the money equally with you."He replied. Rin nodded and then they all proceeded into which appeared to be a dungeon. Inside was dark, so one of them lit a flame from his battle gear and brightened the room. Lee Wayn and his party were all numbered eight. They all looked like they knew each other well and had been hunting together for quite some time.

"Hey Lee, don't you find this odd. We've been walking for a long while now and we haven't even come into contact with a single monster." He asked

"Yeah. I've been wondering the same thing. We have to stay on our guard."

"Right boss" They all replied. Rin was impressed by their communication and

corporation. No wonder were considered an excellent hunting party. As they walked, one of them let out a loud yawn of boredom.

"Shhh! Have you forgotten we're inside a dungeon. We have to stay as silent as possible. " That was true. Rin thought while following from behind. Probably the reason why they hadn't yet faced a monster was because, it hadn't yet spotted them or it was just waiting to pounce on them like a predator.

"I think we should prepare for a fight." Said Rin silently

"Why, do you sense something ahead?" Asked Han

"I don't sense anything either." Added Ryan.

"Anyway we should all be on our guard." Ordered Lee Wayn.

Suddenly after Lee finished his sentence, a black ant about the size of a cat rustled towards them very quickly. They all gripped their weapons tightly. Luckily, Lee Wayn sliced it in one go and killed it. They remained still wondering where it came from.

"Hold it! I can hear something coming towards us." Said Lee wayn. No one could hear the sound, but later it became louder and louder until they could all hear it. When they could finally see what was coming, their eyes widened up. It was a massive swarm of black ants. The sound of the ants legs hissed on the ground noisily until the ground begun to shake. They all moved together on each other like a wave in the ocean. From everyone's assessment, they could all swear that they were more than a thousand rumbling towards them. Lee Wayn placed his shield forward and created a barrier around all of them.

When fighting against monsters such as these types that formed large groups, the breaking down of the team's formation would mean death for everyone involved. Lee Wayn suddenly felt a chill down his spine.

"Fire! Fire! Slow them down."

Swish, Pow!!, Boom!! The burnt spider bodies fell down one after the other without no end.

"Healers Support Larry and Wei Shen!! The rest of you, follow me!" Lee Wayn released the barrier and jumped towards the spiders and begun slicing them violently while the healers helped Larry and Wei recover their strength. They all fought together and watched each other's back. Rin was amazed once again. Their trust in each other and their communication was truly a sight to behold. There was no need too even help them so he just stood behind holding their bags as he was ordered. Before Rin had realized, all the ants were dead. The ground was now soaking wet with their bodies and blood.

"Good work everyone. Lets go ahead." Said Lee Wayn.
