Lex and Silika continued walking down the street and stopped at the massive northern gate, which was taller than the city. As they got closer, the Gatling Skyguards started firing while the Steamtanks outside the wall also fired their cannons.

As they neared the gate, a soldier halted them but soon recognized they were Runners and allowed them to pass. Beyond the entrance, a nightmarish scene unfolded.

Steam tanks unleashed a relentless barrage, firing nonstop, while Steam Cannons launched volleys of shells into the advancing Swarm.

When the couple saw this, they sighed, but Lex smiled before talking to Peri. ''Hold on, girl. This will be fun.''

Dashing ahead, Lex drew his Gearhearts and targeted the approaching horde. Charging the weapons to full power, he unleashed a barrage of rapid fire.

The luminous mana bullets resembled a million stars cascading down, their radiant glow illuminating the surroundings beyond the city walls.
