Side Character

Maya rested her chin on her two hands and smiled, enjoying the sight of seeing her Miss act childish. Just then the buzzer rank and Maya rushed to get food.

"That's burger and fries. We'll order more if we need." She offered one to Aisha and started opening the other for herself.

Like a child, who had seen the burger for the first time, Aisha copied Maya's action. She opened the wrapper and then ate the burger in the exact same way Maya was eating. Then dipped the fries in the mayonnaise, right after Maya, tasting a food completely different from the one she was always offered.

While she was busy eating and looking around, Aisha spotted a girl sitting opposite them, reading a book. It was named "Romeo and Juliet". The book she had been looking for and had been hoping to read.

"Maya, do we have a library here?" Aisha asked Maya, who was very much enjoying her burger.

"No, we don't." She replied, munching on the bread that was still inside her mouth.

"How is she reading a book then?" Aisha asked pointing at the young lady sitting behind Maya. Maya immediately pulled Aisha's hand down and whispered, "Miss, you can't point at someone in public." Aisha looked puzzled. "It is considered rude." Maya tried to explain the reason. Aisha nodded and Maya let go of her hand.

"That book. Maybe she bought it for herself."

"We can buy books?"

"Well, of course we can. Do you want to buy it too? Miss?" Aisha replied to it by nodding her head excitedly.

Maya quickly finished her burger, filling up almost all of her mouth with it. She pulled Aisha out of her seat and they rushed out of the cafeteria, downstairs, in the corner of the second floor was a renowned bookstore, that had every genre of book.

When Aisha entered the shop, for a while she was confused and had no idea where to go first to look for the book she desired. She blankly stood at the entrance, blocking the way of a few others who wished to enter. The attendant who came to attend to her could see the excitement and joy on Aisha's face.

She politely asked Aisha to make way for others and her needs. Aisha delightfully asked for 'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Pride and Prejudice'. The classic novels that very few look for nowadays.

The attendant asked them to follow her to the classic section and pulled out the two books, then placed them in Aisha's hand. Her eyes sparkled at the sight of two medium-sized books.

"Romeo and Juliet was written by the great William Shakespeare. It is a play of love, devotion, sacrifice, and separation. On the other hand, Pride and Prejudice was written by the literary genius Jane Austin. This book again is about love but also shows how hasty decisions can cause many differences between two lovers and how one must accept those. This is the original version and might be difficult to understand if your English isn't that great but I also have the simplified versions of what you want. "

" No. I'll read these. Shall we buy them then? " Aisha said.

Love and relationships are out of Aisha's understanding. How to maintain them and cherish them was something she had forgotten in all those years. Thinking that the book might help her with some relationship advice, Aisha bought them but then again after hearing the description from the attendant, Aisha had come to a rather hasty conclusion that the books might just not be very interesting.

They exited the section and were heading to the counter for payment when Aisha, who was lost in her thought bumped into some stranger who was rather known to her. The books fell out of her arms and clanked to the floor. She bowed to reach out to the when her eyes fell on the man, she had bumped into. A handsome, young man. His eyes were blue like a deep ocean and his hair black as a blackhole. His skin was tan and his body was tall and huge.

After picking up the books, Aisha stood there, in front of him with the books in her arms, lost in the memories of her past life. She knew this man. He was none other than the man that she had killed not once but twice. A side character of Aisha's life. A character that made Aisha regret to death and wanting to kill herself over and over again. Someone who popped in her mind during her last moment. Aisha's greatest guilt.
