Chapter 36- Did I just get a disciple?

A young man could be seen walking down the street holding the hand of a younger teenage girl as she chatted away excitedly. This girl was naturally Ling Ljng and Itachi was here to see what she would awaken as her first magic.

Yesterday, they had completed a relatively simple extermination job where a small group of monster was hiding in the city. Much less now, even if it was when he first awakened, he could have easily killed them with just his soul weapon. It was simply a few minion rats hiding around which would be petrified in terror with just a glance from him.

*Sigh "Am I even allowed to enter your school?" He asked in an exasperated manner. The high school she was attending was probably one of the best in China with many children of prestigious families attending. Still, to Itachi they were like little children who at the most, were novice tier magicians. To be fair however. By the end many would likely be mid tiers since the wide range of magic tools and other training would be very beneficial to their development.

"Of course, everyone else will likely bring their family. If any one asks I will just say your my brother. It's almost like you don't want to be here" she said grumpily with her expression immediately lifting when she spotted the gate "Time to see all stupid idiots I have to deal with all year" she said not exactly quietly earning a few glares from the surroundings

*Sniff 'They grow up so fast' he thought nostalgically reminded of his own school days. "It would probably be best if you don't mention you are a master hunter since the attention would be annoying" he said quietly to her as she couldn't help but nods in agreement

"I know, any words used on these people would be waste of time" she said arrogantly causing Itachi to laugh "If I didn't know any better I would say we are related" he said poking her before they made their way inside the gate.

"Sigh is this a college or a high school" he said playfully looking around the large modern buildings complete with a large training ground and many other facilities

His thoughts were cut off by a haughty voice "Look at this bumpkin" it said mockingly

He turned to see a young man wearing golden silk robes walking to school with a middle aged man he guessed to be his father. 'I guess rich school equals bratty children' he though sighing at this world he lived in

Before he could respond to that incredibly antagonistic comment, Ling Ling immediately ripped in to this guy to a point Itachi began to even feel bad for the naive kid "Bumpkin? What does that make you? My brother could kill you with a finger, your weak dad over there with a slap. Go back to whatever shit hole inbred clan you came from to spare me the effort of killing you" she said scorchingly while the poor kid looked like someone had just kicked him in the nuts

"Y-You" he muttered looking to his father for support who looked quite angry. "Do you know who I am? I am Dong Li" he said regaining his courage as he waited for them to look intimidated

Ling Ling only laughed "They don't even have a Half forbidden mage in the entire clan, yet you act so haughty? Get out of my face before I exterminate you're clan along with you" she said arrogantly which he roughly translated to 'Itachi will do it for me since' she seems to forget she had yet to even awaken. *Sigh 'why am I getting dragged into this? I have much better things I could be doing right now' Itachi thought looking around with a bored look

The kids father looked like he was about to say something before he finally led his son away throwing over his shoulder the words "I don't have time to talk to children" in a cold voice "I hope you don't regret your choice in the future" he threatened moving

"Should I just kill him in case he tries to attack you later?" Itachi said confused at his choice of options at this point while Ling Ling just looked at him annoyed "And spare me the fun of making his life a living hell every day?"

*Sigh 'So young yet so sadistic, they grow up so fast' he thought not sure whether he should be concerned or proud.

Walking down towards the classroom he noticed Ling Ling getting many looks especially from the boys. Not very surprising considering her long beautiful hair and her jade like silky skin, but he wasn't going to say anything because her ego was already inflated enough.

The classroom was quite large with a modern style similar to a college seating, but on a much smaller scale. Everything was quite nice with nice wooden desks that rose at each level giving those behind a clear view of up front. Their were two different staircases and a few students were already seated with some having parents with them and some not. A few nodded over as they sat down on the bleacher type seats. In the first row waiting for a few moments for the class to finally show up.

Itachi was curious to say the least since he had no idea what she would awaken, so he wondered what the little adrenaline junkie would get.

Finally the teacher arrived who Itachi sensed was surprisingly a high tier which is quite uncommon for a simple magic highschool teacher.

He had a normal speech of we are happy to have you all yada yada yada which Itachi pretty much ignored before finally they got to the good part. A few were called up including that one annoying guy from earlier.

The school has specialized awakening crystal balls which could increase the chance of awakening a certain element, so he naturally chose fire since the Dong clan was oriented towards fire just like the mu was towards ice especially since he recalled they live right on a dormant volcano.

Sure enough he awakened fire shooting a triumphant smirk over and Itachi could read him like a book. 'I Awakened fire which is considered one of the strongest next to lightning I'm soooooo cooool'.

Fire may be one of the most destructive elements, but all the elements can be better if used right which he had seen many cases of. Still, many would be disappointed with awakening water and light forgetting how strong they truly are later on.

Anyway, soon It was Ling Ling's turn and she sauntered up to the front. She didn't even bother to request a specialized one which confused many with a few thinking she was dumb, but he knew she didn't really care.

'Can it be considered plot armor, if it was never written' Itachi thought with an exasperated look seeing the ball turn a mixture of gold light orange and gray as everyone else reacted in shock

"The Sound element as the first" the teacher said in astonishment as Ling Ling removed her hand looking quite happy with herself. While not impossible, it was very rare to awaken a rare element like that as a first. Normally, you would awaken one of the 7 basic elements as your first with higher chances of a rare element at mid or high tier. 'I guess I'm quite similar though with the space element' he thought since that was also a rare type element that he awakened at novice tier.

'Well good for her' he thought watching her walk back with a happy look. Mainly specializing in soul attacks, it could completely negate defenses and it was very strong. It was safe to say when competing with her classmates, she could have them clutching their head in pain from one attack with little ability to defend after the class could connect their starpath and they began training.

Itachi sighed as he saw her stick out her tongue at the newly awakened fire mage before walking back to him. 'not even flicking him off, if you go the sadistic route you have to do it properly' he thought discontentedly

"I awakened the Sound element are you proud of me" she said with a victorious look causing Itachi to groan "All luck no skill, I'll have you know I connected my first Starpath in only an hour, talk to me after you beat that" he said disdainfully causing her jaw to drop.

"You cheat" she exclaimed loudly causing many to look over before she calmed down

He smirked "many people keep calling me that" he said with a grin.

The rest of the awakening ceremony passed shortly before they were released. They would officially start classes tomorrow on magic studies, and today was just an awakening day.

They left the school and he found it quite comedic that any guy who tried to talk to her was instantly shot down "as much as a double standard it is for me to say this, you should try to at least make friends with some of your classmates" he said watching her ignore everyone

"I don't need them I got you" she said grabbing his arm affectionately as a few teenagers nearby shot him a glare 'jealousy truly is the dragon that slays love under the pretense of keeping it alive' he thought wisely turning sage like for a second before he realized she was pressing his arm against her chest 'yikes no bra' he thought a bit panickedly looking around for help but nothing came to him.

Pulling away would hurt her feelings so I guess there is no better option than to just let it happen...

Finally, he turned to face her and she proceeded look up at him cutely effectively playing dumb "What is it?" she asked with a straight face, although through the minute muscle twitches at the corner of her mouth he could tell she was holding back a smile. "I'll tell you what, if you promise to at least try to meet other people, I will let you see my super tier awakening" he said as her eyes lit up

"Really, you really will?!" She spoke excitedly clutching his arm even tighter against her chest 'Shit' he thought shooting glances around as he looked for FBI-kun

Finally he got his arm free "Yes I will just relax a bit" he muttered looking at her sweet smile as she looked up at him 'Since when did this innocent girl turn into such a vixen?!'

The pair walked through the front doors of the Shanghai magic association walking up to the front desk.

"I'm here for an awakening" he said to the attendant as the attendant looked up

"Name of appointment?"

"Itachi"

"Alright 24th floor suite 2405"

She said and Itachi and Ling Ling moves up the elevator stepping out quickly finding the right room number.

He was let right through by the assistant since he had already paid online before he was greeted by the same guy he had awakened with before but luckily he didn't seem to recognize him.

"Ahh is this an awakening for the young miss?" He said questioningly looking at Ling'er standing beside him

"No just me" he replied calmly

"Alright what element are you looking for sir?"

"Hmm I guess the water element" he said lazily as the man looked very surprised that's one of the least requested elements yet this guy wanted it

"Are you sure" the man asked cautiously since that wasn't a very popular pick

"Yeah whatever it doesn't matter" he said unconcerned since he didn't really need one in particular. It is almost like playing the lottery

Itachi requested to awaken unsupervised which the awakener agreed to since it was quite common for people to want to hide what they got. That left Itachi and Ling Ling alone as she watched on excitedly curious to see the elements he would get.

He placed his hands on it as he went into meditation feeling his whole mindscape come into view. Purple, black, green, golden, many colors flew by signifiying his other elements as a familiae surge of energy from the special material triggered a reaction in his mindscape.

He felt a force of attraction pulling him forward as he was pulled through space. He closed his eyes as he felt a deep sense of nature like he had a connection with it. It felt peaceful like meditating in the woods with nothing, but the calm sounds of nature. Opening his eyes in his mindscape he viewed a dark green nebula brimming with vitality.

He enjoyed that sensation for a few moments, before he was pulled away once again as he knew he would find out his next element. Soon, he came in front of a strange nebula. Almost like the space element it had a silvery glow, yet it seemed so different. Instantly his mind felt refreshed like it had undergone an awakening. That's when he realized he had gotten the rare psychic element.

This amazing element had many amazing abilities including telepathy soul attacks, and an astonishing magic sense that can scan a large area. Also, he could influence the minds of others including increasing fear or anger in a target in the later tiers.

You could also use it to influence magical beasts influencing them over time in a process called taming.

Since he was at this point already on the 8th mental layer, he could feel that affecting his psychic element reinforcing his mind and he began to see the world much more clearly.

His senses increased a bit and he could tell this was going to be a very useful ability.

Suddenly he was dragged into his next awakening, but it felt a bit off. Instead of feeling like he was awakening through the crystal, he felt like he was forcibly unlocking something inside of him that he had always had as he underwent some sort of change. It was sounded weird, but he could best describe it as unlocking an achievement like some sort of hidden limit inside of him broke.

He almost jumped in shock when instead of one element, he received Water, Ice, Light, and Earth respectively.

Finally, he opened his eyes for real taking in the awakening room as he stared at the wall in shock 'why would I gain all the basic elements all of the sudden' he thought as he tried to go over all the possibilities. From what he could remember, unlocking all 7 basic elements was attributed with the full Spell Tier, but somehow he had gotten it way earlier. He must have fulfilled some requirement to get this, and the reasons eh could think of was maybe it had something to do with his triple awakening talent?

Whatever, I can figure it out later. He stepped down seeing Ling Ling as he became a bit nervous 'How much did she see' he thought wondering if she had seen all 6 different elements. He was prepared to act all surprised if he got a third element since she already thought he only awakened 2 each time, yet this time he came away with an astonishing 6. He now had all 7 basic elements, along with Shadow, Chaos, Space, Plant, Healing, Psychic, and Summon.

"Wow, you awakened Plant and Psychic" Ling Ling shouted as he breathed a sigh of relief 'Since the awakening orb didn't cause it, it didn't change color to reflect what I got' he thought as she continued on "As expected of you, two rare elements in one go" she said excitedly practically jumping up and down

They left the agency as she continued to chat on about all the cool things about those elements which Itachi already knew "And you can talk inside peoples heads!" she said passionately

Finally Itachi turned to her with a bit of sadness in his tone "I really enjoyed hanging out with you, but I need to train to prepare for the big finale" he said seriously since he had alot he needed to do. If he had to guess, the Holy Court would likely use the Mu clan incident to criminalize him likely using his demon element as a bonus to try to sentence him to death. He already had a few plans for that, but for now he had so many things to work on.

The energy surge he had gained from awakening 6 elements was massive, but he would have to raise them up higher for them to strengthen demonization even more. Also, he had to practice fusion since he would almost be able to double his attack power if he could use it right. Now that he had the tool, all he needed was time in patience before he would be able to do it on his own perfectly. In simple terms, he wants to have a slice of life, but wuxia enemies keep holding him back so he had to go on a training arc.

As playful and immature as she had been acting, Ling Ling was truly very advanced for her age and she immediately became quiet at this. How could she be dumb enough not to know what he is talking about? Part of the reason she had been acting so flirty was because she knew he would leave soon and she didn't want to have any regrets.

Gathering up her courage she looked at him seriously "I want to help" she said not wanting him to leave her "I may not be strong individually but me and old Bao still have a lot of weight in the association also..." she paused at this last part hesitant over if she should say it or not "I know this is selfish of me, but can I come with you to train" she said hopefully as Itachi looked at her thoughtfully not immediately rejecting it

After a few moments he responded making up his mind "In a few weeks to a month, I will start helping you depending on when I have a chance however, I will teleport you here and back so don't think you are skipping school" he said making this decision for several reasons. One, his space element would break through soon and he could tell his teleportation would increase the amount of distance he could travel, so he could teleport here and back wasting little of his time. Two, having her cultivate nearby would help her greatly without distracting him too much since it wasn't much of a bother with his unique effect on his surroundings when he cultivated.

Three, she needed instruction along with interaction with the others her age in order to grow so he wanted her to continue to go to school everyday. Not to mention the side factor of enjoying the speechless looks from the teachers when they saw how much progress she had made.

'that will be a fun parent teacher conference' he thought since he already thought of her as family since he knew old Bao would enjoy the peace if he helped out.

"Are you sure" she muttered shocked not expecting him to accept "You don't need to force yourself to" she said a bit self consciously since she knew he had a lot going on

"Nonsense, it will not be much of a bother at all" he said reassuringly before raising his finger "but...." he paused "you better be able to cast novice tier magic or I won't teach you" he said as her face turned resolved "I will meditate every chance I get" she said determinedly raising her fist in the air. Most people will take around half a year to be able to line up their star path and cast magic. Some geniuses however can do it in a lot less depending on how talented they are. Itachi may be asking a lot of her to try to get it that quick, but it was important for her to work hard so this would drive her to improve.

She ran down the street turning back to face him as she neared the corner "I Won't Let You Down!" she shouted about to run away before she paused turning back around with a mischievous look on her face "After all, you are my Master!" she said laughing as she turned away and ran around the corner. Her laughter continued to be heard for a quite a while as she ran away leaving Itachi standing their dumbstruck at what he had just witnessed
