Chapter 5

The next day Vael woke up early and left the mansion, Lavinia had been bothering him about going to the exploration together and since he was not on the exploration team he decided to just avoid her. Although he would love to hear more about her life on Earth it was clear that she was getting attached and that was something Vael needed to avoid. He had seen his mom giving birth to at least 7 different half-siblings after him and how miserable she was with each of them. It was like she didn't even want any more kids but somehow she ended up being pregnant. Vael had no plan for procreating, he didn't give a fuck about the king's order or their low population, he didn't have anything interesting in his life until he heard about a different planet and met its people.

Vael followed the faint yellow line that appeared after he gave some mana to the crystal. It was going inside the castle, he looked up and saw that two large gates had appeared on the golden walls, they were open and many other people were going inside the castle.

As he passed the gate, he found himself in the same hall from before, he carefully looked around and saw several gates. The yellow line was going in one of the gates, he followed the line and after 5 minutes he arrived in front of the gate. He was right on time. He pushed the gate and found himself in a big garden. There were several hundred chairs and tables and more than half were occupied. He moved towards the middle and sat on an empty chair.

"Nice to meet you, I am Vaelorian." He spoke to a guy next to him.

"Alex," the guy nodded and shot his hand forward.

Vael looked at his hand in confusion. 'What does he want?' He thought and with both hands, he grabbed his hand.

"What are you doing? Don't you know how to shake hands?"

"Of course I know," Vael shook his hand vigorously with both hands.

"You are a weird one. Just leave it." Alex quickly withdrew his hand.

Vael observed his surroundings and saw two people shaking hands, 'so that's how they do it,' he nodded in understanding. He glanced toward Alex and saw him talking with a girl next to him. He sighed and turned his gaze back to the front stage. After 15 more minutes King Maximus made his way to the stage, everyone quietened and looked at him.

"I am going to teach you for a month, you have to make sure that you are extremely dedicated and focused because you are going to spread this knowledge to the rest.

Before we begin I would like to tell you about some basic stuff that everyone must know." King Maximus spoke and started levitating, he took out a crystal and showed it to everyone, "This is called a mana crystal, it is currently empty which means it is nothing but a rock. Now what's so special about this rock?" He waited for some seconds before continuing, "This rock can contain mana, and when crushed the mana is going gush out. Now before I explain any further than this, let me tell you about the elements. There are five main elements, fire, water, nature, air, and light. These elements are found in the mana stream or simply mana, when you breathe you take in all these elements but you can only use those elements which your body can digest, which means your affinity."

King Maximus took in a huge breath and blew it, everyone's eyes widened when they saw smoke coming out of his mouth. "I took in mana, refined it, and blew out the impure mana, this is the most basic breathing technique and for this to work you must know how to circulate the mana inside your body."

"Damn this is really hard," Alex grumbled and took in several large breaths. "Well I don't think I can learn this, I am just gonna use the system and level up."

'Level up?' Vael frowned when he heard another new term, he carefully looked around and saw almost everyone had a problem with what King had just told them, but fortunately for him, it was the biggest teaching and blessing. Up until now he never blew out the impurities but now he had a general idea about how to exhale.

King Maximus also noticed a confused and pained expression on everyone, "As I was saying earlier mana rocks can contain mana, if you fill this rock with pure mana then you will be able to use it for several basic purposes, they can be turned into projection crystal, communication crystal, and even a high explosion bomb. If you compress your mana into a very tiny ball and fill the crystal with these balls then it will create a huge explosion when crushed. Now the question arises where do we get mana crystal? The answer is you have to make one and only the mages with nature affinity can make one. As for affinity, it depends only on three factors, the first factor is your nature, the second factor is your bloodline and the third factor is luck. Since Earth didn't have any mana, you will get your affinity based on your nature and luck. It is possible to have affinity to all 5 elements but it will make your life harder."

Maximus paused and let the information digest. Apparently, he saw many people trying the breathing technique but no impurities were coming out of their mouths, he frowned at the sight and fell into deep thought, "Alright, I am going to teach you a very simple spell today, make sure you practice it enough because that spell will build your foundation. I call it mana bullet, you have to compress your mana, as much as you can and then release it. It's not as easy as it sounds because it relies on your ability to circulate mana, try to circulate your mana to the tips of your fingers and slowly release it through your pores but make sure to compress it otherwise the mana will be wasted."

"Man, what the fuck is this! You are not even making sense, how can we sense our pores? I can't even sense the mana gathering in one place!"

"I made a mistake joining this class."

"Just give us the spells damn it."

"Yeah the system will teach us better, all we need to do is feed the spell to it. I have intelligence stat at 8, I think I can learn basic spells now."

King Maximus was speechless as he heard the grumblings and complaints. What he failed to understand was how they will learn spells when they can't even control the mana? And what were they talking about?

Vael listened to the complaints around him, he was really irritated because he had an enlightening and it was interrupted. Under the table was his hand and on the tip of the index finger was the small mana bullet that he had formed on his own. He was about to form another one when a particular statement piqued his interest.

"I know what the King is saying, I mean think it like this, the mana is basically the air, when we breathe we take in air but our body only needs oxygen so we breathe out carbon dioxide and other gases. I think it works exactly like this but we are having trouble because we never thought of exhaling that oxygen through our fingers from the pores!"

Vael turned to the source of the voice and saw a girl explaining it to her friend who was listening intently. He turned back as he fell into thought.

"This will be it for today. Please practice and think carefully about what I have said and we will meet again tomorrow at the same time and same place. Tomorrow you all will get checked for your affinities and receive a simple basic spell of that type." King Maximus spoke and flew away.
