Chapter 4

"Vael wake up,"

Vael slowly opened his eyes and saw Lavinia looking at him excitedly. "Let's meet the people of Zephyrion!"

"What?"

"I heard two people talking that we are gonna get a tour of this place and then we will be aggregated into groups and help with several things!" She spoke excitedly.

Vael inwardly frowned as he heard this, though he never mingled with anyone and was always isolated and tangled around his own thoughts but still due to extremely low population many had remembered his face and he didn't want people from Earth to find out that he was not one of them. He was really fascinated by them and wanted to know more about Earth and it wouldn't be possible if they knew that wasn't one of them as they wouldn't talk to each other that freely in front of an entirely different species.

"Are everyone going? I was thinking of lazing around today." Vael buried his face into the pillow and mumbled.

"Hahaha yes! We have to go come on. We can fool around later." She grabbed his hand and started tugging.

Vael got up and looked around, almost everyone was awake and they had started talking with each other, forming groups of likeminded. "Let's go," he spoke and Lavinia excitedly led the way.

After an hour everyone had gathered in the hall in Celestal Haven again, but this time with King Maximus were several Elders of the city. King Maximus flew above the podium and immediately everyone's voices nulled and they looked at the king.

"As I told you yesterday, you all are going to be divided into different groups and you will learn about various things here, for example, we need to establish a currency again so we are going to need assistance from those who are well-versed in that aspect, but for that, we are going to need gold and silver and that job will be of the miners but for safe mining we will also establish an exploration team which will consist of skilled fighters. We will also need to restore law and order and all of those who want to help with that will be interviewed by the Elders. The teams will be as follows," Maximus took out a crystal in broke it, a large projection floated into the air.

Agricultural Team: cultivating the land, planting crops, and establishing sustainable food sources for the growing population

Medical Team: Focusing more on healing magic. Light mages are preferred. 

Mining Team: Gathering various gemstones and mana stones. Gold and Silver are a priority.

Central Administration Team: making and controlling the currency, establishing the governing body, and controlling the distribution of land. Only nobles preferred.

Exploration Team: comprised of mages and fighters, take back the continent of Celestara and map the farmable places. Many other important responsibilities will be revealed by the King after selection. Extremely dangerous and life-threating situations may occur so higher rewards. (join at your own risk)

Law and Order: they will be responsible for maintaining peace. More information will be told by King.

Education and Training Team: they will be personally taught by the king and the elders and later on they must pass the knowledge to everyone else.

Supply and Logistics Team: Oversee the distribution of resources among others and divide efficiently, the key to the treasury will be handled by them. The final selection will be made by the king.

Engineering and Technology Team: This was formed on a special request for Li Han and he will oversee the team. Experimentation with mana will be done here.

Construction and Transportation Team: building homes, bridges, and carts for smooth transportation

 "I will give you some time to decide and adjust, meanwhile I am going to inform the rest of the people. It's not compulsory to be on the team but I will appreciate your help." Maximus spoke and flew away from the hall.

"This Li Han again, stealing the limelight."

"Just when did he get the time to talk with the King?"

"I am going to be on the top"

"Looks a pain to be on any team."

"Exploration looks good, to be honest."

Vael heard some of the comments in the suddenly lively environment. He looked at the projection again and fell into deep thought.

"What are you going to choose Vaelorian? I really like the agriculture team!" 

"Uhm I don't really know." Vael shrugged.

"Tell me!"

"The exploration team." 

Lavinia widened her eyes, "That's literally the most dangerous team!"

'She's so nosy' Vael thought and smiled at her. "I want to explore." 

"I will also take the exploration team then."

Vaelorian looked at the projection again, the team that's best suited for him is the Education and Training team because he doesn't have the so called 'system' and couldn't afford to go in the wild without even a basic fighting spell. All he could do was circulate the mana but that didn't give him any abilities. The second best team was the Engineering and Technology team because it was related to one of the topics he was most interested in, and that was Earth. He was not sure how but since Li Han got permission to lead the team that meant that he was gonna teach something interesting that had already gained the favor of King Maximus and experiments with mana were something he had never even thought of doing and the idea was really exciting. 

While he was in his own thoughts King Maximus came back, "Alright now you can move freely and explore the city of Aetherholm, remember to make up your mind and tell the elders about your decision. You have till tonight. We are very helpful in nature so feel free to ask anyone."

'I really hope people for us to live and work together. Hopefully, they all will get along, they must! According to what I have felt the tides have turned and those bastards have started taking our territory.' Maximus sighed as these thoughts popped into his mind.

"I have opened the gates, you can explore now." Maximus flew out of the hall, towards the chambers.

Vael quickly moved away from Lavinia and made his way towards one of the elders. Several hundred people were already in a line. Vael peeked behind but didn't see Lavinia, he exhaled the breath he had been holding. The line moved quickly and soon it was his turn.

"I would like to be on the Education and Training Team, on Earth we used to believe that knowledge is the greatest power one could have," Vael spoke proudly.

"Your name?" The elder spoke professionally.

"Vaelorian Silvercrest,"

Elder frowned for a second before maintaining his poker face, "Take this crystal, it will inform you tomorrow about your destination."

Vael took the crystal and left the hall. His thoughts were in turmoil, he shouldn't have told the elder his real name but he had to because Lavinia knew his name and by looking at the expression of the elder he was indeed a bit suspicious. 'Well, there's no going back now. Might as well learn something now.' He exhaled when suddenly he remembered something, didn't the King tell them that their education would begin after a month? Does that mean that he is giving priority to the people of Earth?
