The Rise of a Scholar

"Why should I bow before that man?" asked a kid. "He's a top aristocrat of this kingdom. Kid, we're low class-men, born in lower class families. That's why we have to bow before him," answered the man. The kid became curious to know more. "Can I be like him? I also want to be respected by people," the kid said with an affirmed tone. The man started laughing hearing the kid's talks. "Hahaha. You're good in joking, kid. A low-class can't become a Scholar like them," stated the man and walked away. Determined to become a Scholar like the man described, the kid named Kim Yoon Shik decided to become a respected Scholar like the one he saw on the very first day in the Kingdom capital city. Lost his mother & father; pushed away his lover, the protagonist Kim Yoon Shik negotiated all the difficulties in his path and finally achieved the dream that he had seen in his childhood. ~~~~~~~~ Cover photo is taken from Pinterest so the copyrights are owned by its owner. I was too excited

Ro Sang Pil came to the washroom and told Wang Wook and Sung Tae that Miss Hani had to leave urgently because of certain reasons. Sung Tae who was washing his hands got delighted. "Why is this color not removing from my hands?" Sung mumbled.

"You should have been careful that time. The color is made from various flower extract and roots," Wang Wook asserted.

"Why are you struggling too much to take it off? Let's go. Chan Sul is waiting for us," stated Ro Sang Pil annoyingly.

"I do not like this green color at all. You two shall go," Sung Tae opined while throwing water on his left hand.

"Okay, we are going to the same private room. We will wait for there," Ro Sang Pil stated. Sung Tae hummed while those two went out of the washroom. Sung Tae was busy removing the color in his hand when a man entered there. He was holding a thick stick and hit Sung Tae on his head.

Getting the hard blow, Sung Tae felt a sharp pain in his head. Before he could turn to look, everything turned blurry in front of him and he fell there, unconscious.

Two unknown men came there, tied him up quickly, and put him inside a big carry bag which was made of plant fibers. Two more unknown men were standing outside the door of the washroom, keeping a check that no one would enter there. As soon as the two men came out with the large carry bag on their shoulders, the other two aided them and they left from there.

Park Do Yeong and Park Sunwo entered the gate of the Tea House. Park Sunwo looked at the four men who were carrying the bag on their shoulders. "Sunwo, let's go in," Park Yeong told Sunwo who nodded and the two walked in.

The tea house owner greeted them and called a teenage boy who was a worker there. "Show the junior masters a good table," the owner told the teenager boy.

"Please come this way, junior masters," the teenager boy spoke, showing them the way. As they turned, they saw Chan Sul, Ro Sang Pil, and Wang Wook coming downstairs.

"Did you guys see Sung Tae?" Chan Sul asked Do Yeong and Sunwo who looked at each other.

"Wasn't he with you three?" Do Yeong questioned him.

"Indeed, he was. I think he left without telling us," Chan Sul replied. Do Yeong walked away from there, followed by Park Sunwo.

"Did you see the son of the prime minister, Young Master Tae?" Wang Wook asked the owner who refused and lowered his eyes. The three looked at each other. "Where did he go? Let's check the washroom," Ro Sang Pil suggested. Wang Wook and Chan Sul agreed with him.

Sunwo and Do Yeong had taken their respective seats around a table while a tea house tea server came to them to serve them the tea. She bowed her head and poured the chrysanthemum tea into two porcelain cups.

"Where could Sung Tae leave?" Sunwo skeptically said as he picked the porcelain cup to drink the tea. The tea server then left from there. Do Yeong sipped the tea and put the cup on the table. "How could I know? He does not consider us as his friend. I am more worried about the princess's decision. If her highness won't refuse for the marriage then, I am stuck," Do Yeong anxiously spoke.

"Aigoo, why are you so tensed? Everything will be fine. Lee Eunshi has assured us and the way he has given the assurance, truly shows that he will definitely come up with a piece of good news," pronounced Sunwo.

"Can we three join you?" Chan Sul asked humbly. Do Yeong chuckled and was going to refuse when Sunwo replied, "Make yourself comfortable. It is good to have more people while drinking such a delicious tea." Chan Sul thanked him and gestured to Ro Sang Pil and Wang Wook to take seats.

"So, Sung Tae was with you?" Park Sunwo asked. Chan Sul gave a nod.

"We were here for hearing a story from a very famous storyteller. But then he said he had to go to the washroom and did not come to the private room," Chan Sul replied. "I guess, he did not like the surprise planned by those few Kisaengs," he further added.

Do Yeong looked at him. "Storyteller? Who?" Yeong asked skeptically.

"What was her name? I forgot. Judging by her clothes, it seems the young lady was from a lower class than us. Those Kisaengs told us that she tells beautiful stories," Chan Sul asserted.

"Miss Hani was the name. Yes, her name was Miss Hani," Ro Sang Pil delightfully spoke. Park Sunwo was sipping the tea, splashed it out of his mouth and it fell on Wang Wook's face. "What? Hani?? She was telling the story?" Do Yeong asked with a shocking look. Sunwo also looked for an answer. Wang Wook, on the other hand, wiped his face from the handkerchief.

"Forgive me," Sunwo apologized to Wang Wook.

"It's fine," Wang Wook replied.

"It seems you two know about the young lady?" Chan Sul asserted. The server served them the tea as well and walked away.

"No, we do not know," Do Yeong told a white lie. Sunwo raised his brow and agreed with Do Yeong.

"But you two were shocked to hear that name," Ro Sang Pil stated. Park Sunwo moved his hand in the air. "I was not shocked. There was something weird in the taste inside the teacup and I ended up throwing it. Sorry again, Wang Wook," Sunwo molded the words perfectly.

"What about you, Do Yeong?" Chan Sul queried him and raised the cup to drink the tea.

"I have heard that Miss Hani is famous for her storytelling skills. I wish I could be there. I missed it. Aish, you should have invited me as well," Do Yeong proclaimed and tainted the arm of Chan Sul who was seated on his right. The tea in his hand spilled from the cup.

"Ahh, forgive me. I was too excited," Do Yeong stated and looked for a worker to clean that. Chan Sul drank the tea and put the cup on the table.

"You two came alone. What about Lee Eunshi and Yoon Shik?" Ro Sang Pil questioned them.

"Lee Eunshi has gone somewhere that we don't know and Yoon Shik is in the academy," Park Sunwo replied, and gave him a tiny smile.

"He always studies. He shall also enjoy now. Do Yeong, Sunwo, I don't have any personal grudge against him but you see he sometimes just insults us Sangmins which is unbearable to me," Chan Sul asserted.

"You should not have used his sister's name that day," Do Yeong with exasperation spoke.

"I am also guilty of that. Though, I do not think that Yoon Shik will forgive me even if I will ask for the forgiveness," Chan Sul with a deep sigh said. Sunwo was looking at him skeptically.

"Ahh, Yoon Shik has a big heart. He will forgive you easily," Ro Sang Pil stated, encouraging Chan Sul. Sunwo and Do Yeong looked at each other as they could not believe them saying such things.

"By the way, I heard that some rules and policies are going to change soon for the subjects. Yeong-aa, do you know anything related to this?" Chan Sul asked.

"No, I don't know," Yeong lied to him.

"Strange! Your brother is the one who is going to propose this in the King's court. Did Hyung-nim not tell you?" Chan Sul questioned as he poured the tea in their cups from the kettle.

"Hyung and I hardly talk about his work when we meet. But how did you find out?" Yeong asked with an inquisitiveness.

"Father is also supporting Hyung-nim that's why I know," Chan Sul replied and told all of them to drink the tea.
