The Cabin

After crossing over the river using the bridge of tree vines that my illustrious new friend had made, we walked the rest of the way to her cabin or at least that's what I thought it'd be. The Cabin was less of a cabin and more a treehouse.

"I've never seen something as cool as this before," I said as I stepped closer.

Directly in the middle of the cleared area was one Gigantic tree, it's roots with big enormous as looked as if the spread out in every direction. I'd probably even wager that all of the trees in the forest are connected to it through the vines, but that isn't the cool part. You see, directly in the center of the tree is a big house that looked as if it was carved into the tree using tools or some other option.

I looked back at Auriel as she smiled at me.

"I thought this was going to be a cabin," I said to Auriel who grinned before looking at me.

"All I said was "my home" I never gave specifics, that's so I could see your face when you finally saw it!" She exclaimed as she walked up to me.

I stood to the side of her with my hands in my pockets as I laughed a little, I've liked our interactions so far, she seems like a normal lady albeit a little weird.

"Well, let's stop standing around like scaretoe on a stick and get into my home," She said but like every other time up until now confused me.

"Scaretoe?" I asked myself, albeit a little confused.

I watch her place her hand on the ground and mumble something, before moving her hands around in a circle.

"Open," Auriel says and a stairway from the ground to the treehouse center opens and just like last time was made out of tree roots and vines. After she does that I walk up to her and place my hand on her shoulder as she smiles.

"No matter how many times I see that, I'll always think it's cool," I said.

"That's because Plant Magic is the coolest magic, now, up we go!" she exclaims while pointing onward.

I find it a little funny that someone as pure and maiden looking as her is actually someone who's a loud and outgoing type of individual, rather than a quiet one. Though I guess it's just one of the wonders of meeting people and find out more about them.

Auriel starts walking up the stairway and I follow her, as we walked I saw that we were obviously getting higher and higher as the tree staircase passed the other trees. It was safe to say that from this point of view you'd be able to see pretty far without having to leave you home and from all directions too.

"This new world is something out of a fairy tale," I thought to myself as I walked, "I never would've thought that I'd be in a place like this but I'm glad I am," I finished.

As we reached the very top or center of the tree, we could see out over the entire forest even without a telescope. The forest itself looked so different from the center of the tree, I could see the river that flowed through it and something I hadn't noticed before which was that all the treetops are different colors.

After sitting for a moment I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked back to see Auriel, she looked like she was at peace as I was. And just like me, she sat on the edge of her porch as our feet dangled over the edge freely, without a care in the world.

"So how do you like the view from up here?" she asked softly.

I look at her and grin before looking back out at the forest.

"It's really beautiful up here, I guess I can see how you've lived here for thirty years," I said as the gentle breeze flowed through the air.

"Yep, at the end of the day the peace I experience here has always been something I've enjoyed," she said as she leaned forward a little bit.

I started to get curious about the world I was now inhabiting so I looked at Auriel who's hair was over hear nice ears.

"What's the world called that we inhabit anyway?" I asked and she turns to me.

"You really don't know anything about this place, do you?" she asked back and I shook my head.

Auriel laughs and leans back.

"I thought as much but I just thought my eyes were wrong, I couldn't believe it what I was seeing," Auriel starts, "See, this world is called Uchū and it's full of all kinds of magical things like myself," she finishes.

I looked at her and she looked into my eyes as hers glowed green.

"Back in the forest, how did you know I was telling the truth?" I asked her as she looked at me.

"What?" she asked.

"Back in the forest you said I was telling the truth, how did you know?" I asked her.

"Well it's very simple actually, I have an ability that allows me to see through deception and solve things. I can usually tell if someone is lying or hiding something, I can even find hidden pathways and read ancient tablets, I can see through all deception. This is called Truth Seeker," she said as she closed her eyes.

"Sounds like really useful ability to have, but what about that stuff with the trees? How were you able to do that too?" I asked and she yawned.

"Magic. Everyone on Uchū has regular magic that can be learned by anyone and special Magic that's unique to themselves, this Magic can't be taught. My regular magic allows me to control plants to a high level whereas Truth Seeker is my special magic," She finishes.

"Wow, that's something super cool. I wonder if I could learn it?" I asked.

"Of course you can, you just need the right teacher," she says as she lays down.

I joined her as I laid down with my eyes closed and think to myself.

"The right teacher, huh?" I asked again.
