Revered Magus Chapter 48 - Explosive Potion

Rio closed his eyes before thinking of the best thing to make that could get him a lot of spirit stones, before he came to the conclusion of making the explosive potion, which had the same effect as the explosive pill, however like the former, this potion can make a peak mage master rank breakthrough their limit and reach the Magus realm

Not everyone is able to reach the Magus Realm since there are conditions required in the process to break through, there are various factors such as talent, resources, and also luck, this potion adds 50% to the possibility of breaking through to the Magus Realm

'Something like this is very rare to find, to the point where you can't buy it with money, one would need various connections and call in favors just to obtain one glass of explosive potion, and here I am about to make and sell it to the highest bidder' Rio scoffed with a grin and prepared to start making it

Although Rio had the knowledge, he had never attempted this, so who knows how long it will take for him to actually refine it.

After making sure everything was set and prepped he started his first attempt

'Okay, countless failures open the path to inevitable success

'Firstly, Grind the Weed Pepper mixed with Kobold's Tear until it turns into a green paste

Put the paste in a tube and close it 7 Merman scales crushed and grounded until density-like sand mix with fresh grounded Regal Blossom and put into another tube add griffin spit to the tube and swirl creating a purplish amethyst color

Whilst swirling slowly and gently add mana to the mix making it lighte-

*Boom*

A small explosion happened inside the tube causing it to break and spill the purple liquid

*Mtchee*

'That's frustrating, I'm still on the easy part yet and it failed, calm down, failure is the path to success Rio thought as he kissed his teeth

After five more tries, he managed to successfully imbue his mana into the mixture turning it into a mauve shade of purple

'Okay, the next step needs swiftness' Rio thought as I took the first cylinder tube open, whilst ignoring the green mist and aroma leaving the tube.

He quickly, yet gently poured the purple mixture into the green paste and quickly closed, it whilst swirling it waiting for the correct reaction to happen before he started the next step

As he twirled it started foaming and bubbling which made him squint his eyes with a light of hope then it turned muddy grey. The glint disappeared and a solemn expression plastered on his face

"No matter, just start again," he said before continuing

About three hours passed before Rio got the reaction he wanted, the mixture fizzed and bubbled and revealed a navy blue color which made him jump for joy, of course internally, he was still as focused as can be, making sure nothing went wrong the last second

After Rio was sure the mixture stabilized, he put down the tube and took off his equipment before walking out for some fresh air

Although he's a mage master now meaning he could go for at least a week without sleep, this wasn't physically draining for his body, it was rather mentally draining, and the fumes he had been intaking hadn't been helping

Rio went to make himself a mind-cooling cup of tea and went upstairs to the balcony, where the cool breeze could hit his face

Whilst he was enjoying the tea Rio closed his eyes and pictured every step he did, when he succeeded compared to when I failed, Rio had tried and failed at least 100x

Although Rio couldn't find the difference in what he was doing, he was currently on the second to last step of the refinement and had to focus

After an hour break, Rio went back to the basement…or should I say lab now? He went back to the lab and resumed refining

Get a Roc egg and crack it, the egg was around the size of an adult-sized fist so the yolk in the egg practically filled up one whole tube, so, Rio took out lizard man feet web and gently inserted it into the tube with the yolk increasing the height of which the yolk was rising after he stuck 3 inside and the yolk was about to touch the top, he sealed it and waited,

To Rio's knowledge, the chemicals in the web feet will slowly spread and affect the yolk turning it into a greenish yolkish liquid, but the process of this is rather long, however, over-contamination will ruin the egg yolk, and the time duration is different depending on the web feet and yolk, so Rio thought it was best to stay and watch it

After around an hour passed and Rio deemed the yolk was ready, he poured the now green yolk into another tube, but this time the yolk's volume decreased a bit, not too much, but for someone like Rio who was focusing on every little detail at the moment, this 1 cm was very obvious

Rio took out a glass conical flask put a small amount of hippocamp's saliva and used it to grease the entire flask before putting it on a low-heat

After that, Rio unplugged the two test tubes with the navy blue mixture and green egg yolk and picked them up in each hand, looking at them made Rio look like a mad scientist

'This step is really fragile…' Rio thought as he steeled his mind

*Breathe in, Breathe Out*

Rio slowly started twirling both of them, the dark blue potion on his left hand, clockwise whilst the green yolk on his right hand anti-clockwise with his mana traveling the same direction and same speed as his twirling

Whilst watching the green yolk for an hour he practiced this on water, he had 2 water in a tube and tried to do this, was very difficult at first but he got the hang of it eventually

It was like rubbing your stomach and patting your head at the same time when you first do it, everything is disastrous and your hands won't listen to watch your brain trying to tell it

Instead, it was like his mana wasn't trying to cooperate with me at first, however, after a couple of tries he got the hang of it until he was confident to put it to real use

So now Rio was slowly injecting his mana in the same rotation as the two mixtures, after confirming his mana was successfully spinning with the potion, Rio poured both the potion whilst rotating into the one flask lubricated flask simultaneously

mixing both the dark blue liquid and green liquid into the flask making a turquoise liquid start gradually filling up the flask, the liquid lost its fluidity and started to slightly clump up, not to the point where it felt like an egg but also not to the point where it was a mailable as liquid
