James is a Bounty Hunter, offer him enough money he'll do anything if it means getting paid. He is currently on his way to his next Bounty. Some of the sand from underneath his hover bike splashes upwards from the immense speed he's going.
This Barren wasteland is all James has ever known, all he's ever seen, nothing but sand and dunes as far as the eye could see.
James finally arrives at his destination. A small town in the middle of nowhere. James parks his bike and enters the local tavern, a few of the people in here he can recognise. James sits down and orders himself a drink.
As James was having his drink he sees his target walk into the tavern, her name is Sami, she runs a bandit group that's been giving his employer a lot of trouble recently. He watches her closely waiting for his time to strike.
Sami orders a drink and starts to walk over to James's table, "This'll be easier than I thought" James thought to himself. Sami sits down at James's table with her drink in hand, "I've never seen you before, you new around 'ere?" she said trying to act friendly, "Yeah, I'm just passing by, I just need a room to stay for the night than I'll be off tomorrow" James replied finishing his drink.
"We don't get cuties like you often, where you from?" she asked, "Nowhere important, Just a small town" James takes his helmet off. He places it on the table and takes out a piece of cloth and starts to clean it.
Sami watched him but was mostly fixated on his face, she couldn't look away. "Wow, he really is a cutie~" she thought.
Sami finishes her drink and says, "Well I'd better be heading off it was nice to me-" "I'm sure one more drink wouldn't hurt" James interrupted. James ordered the both of them another drink.
An hour later, many drinks were had and Sami was leading James to a room. As they entered Sami was already all over him too drunk to care.
Sami starts to undo James's Shirt, James picks her up by her ass and she wraps her legs around him. They lustfully kiss until James backs the kiss, "Turn around for me~" He whispered in her ear.
Sami giggled, she got off him and turned around, suddenly she heard a clicking sound and her heart was filled with dread. She recognised that sound, she recognised that sound all too well. Her face was that of a petrified child, she knew what happens next and had no way of stopping it, she had been played and she accepted that.
Sami chuckles softly to herself before getting a bullet straight through her head exiting through her eye. James holsters his pistol and walks over to the dead corpse, he grabs her necklace and takes it off as evidence of his kill.
"Nothing personal Sami, just business" he says before walking out of the room. As he exits he sees people looking at him in shock, he knew this was gonna happen, the entire tavern must have heard that gun shot.
James walked casually through the hallway and went back down stairs. He saw Sami's henchmen and other bandits aiming their guns at him, James just continued to walk down as if nothing happened.
"Don't take another step!" one of the bandits yelled. James raised an eyebrow at him and chuckled, James quickly drew his gun and disarmed all of them before they could even blink. They all look at him in surprise while holding their hands in pain.
James walks back to his table and picks up his helmet, he holsters his pistol and finishes the last shot on the table before putting his helmet back on. James starts to walk out of the tavern until he hears someone running towards him. James turns around and the bandit throws a punch at him, he easily dodges it, the bandit continues to throw punches but none of them land. James dodges to the right, grabs the bandits wrist and kicks the back of his knee causing his leg to buckle, he extends the bandits arm and punches down on his elbow in an attempt to snap it. It takes two punches to do so, the first one merely breaking his elbow and the next one sending the bone through his arm.
"ARRGH!"
The bandit cried out in pain, James lets go of him and kicks him to the ground. Before leaving James flicks a coin to the bartender and exits the tavern. James hops onto his hover bike and starts to ride out of the town.
...
A few hours later James arrives at his employers house, it's starting to get dark by the time he gets there. James parks his bike and knocks on the door. "This place looks oddly pristine for being in the desert" James thought.
A few seconds later a man opens the door. "You must be the Bounty Hunter I employed, please, come in" The man stepped aside and James entered the house. This house was like nothing he had ever seen, "The rich can even have a decent looking place in a place like this" James thought.
James sits down and the man puts his hand out "Names Rick" he said. James didn't say anything, just shook his hand and nodded. The man pulls out a bag of coins from his pocket and chucks it to James. James weighs the bag in his hand, "This isn't enough" James said slightly Irritated.
"that is perfectly enough" The man said getting defensive, "You're about 20-ish coins off, this doesn't feel heavy enough" James said, "I'm telling you I counted them, that's enough" the man said raising his voice slighty.
James stood up. "Look pal, I don't care how rich you are, I'm getting my money rather you like it or not, in fact I should be getting a small tip for getting me to kill your daughter, so either you get me my money or I take it from you by force"
The air turned razor thin as the two men stared eachother down like two bulls fighting for dominance. James stood up and asked again but to avail, no matter what James said the man wouldn't comply.
"Maybe you don't get how this Bounty Hunter thing works" James said taking a step towards the man "See how it's supposed to go is you give me a job" takes another step forward "I complete the job" and another "you pay me the exact number you offered me"
James chucks sami's necklace to the man, he catches it and looks at it. It looks like some kind of pendent, it's in the shape of a heart. The man opens it up and sees a picture of him with his daughter when she was younger.
You can see healthy trees in the background, meaning they didn't always live here, "I.... I...." The man can't seem to be able to speak as his actions finally catch up to him.
James puts his hand out, "Pay up" he said coldly. The man paid him fully and sat down on the couch still looking at the photo, James left without saying another word.
James drove to the nearest tavern and bought himself a room for the night. He put his weapons away and took his helmet off before chucking himself onto the bed.
"Three jobs done today, that's barely anything, I must be getting lazy" James said to himself before finally falling asleep
