Supported Him Through Troubles

"Sure," answered Lilah.

Alicia was caught off guard.

"Eh!? What? Really?"

Her eyes brightened up when she processed that, and a smile bloomed on her face. Lilah had a bored expression on, nodding her head.

"Thank you then. Then, can you help him up?"

Lilah raised her leg and kicked on his waist lightly. Her action made Alicia's eyes widen.

"Maybe we should be a little more gentle with him," Alicia proposed.

But her words' fell into the deaf's ears. Lilah attacked his stomach with her heel, knocking the air out of him.

A gasp left Alicia's mouth while she was left dumbfounded.

How did this man end up offending Lilah?

The man started to cough, slowly regaining his consciousness. His line of sight was blurry, and the pain made his face contort. A footprint was left on his stomach.

Before Lilah was able to kick him again, Alicia acted fast this time and placed her hand on Lilah's thigh, pressing it back. She nervously smiled at Alicia.

"I think I will be able to take it from here. He is awake now. You helped a lot," Alicia expressed.

Lilah set her leg down, disappointed that she didn't get to kick him again. It was only starting to get fun. She added another negative point for Alicia.

"Stop lying down there so pathetically. How mortifying," Lilah commented.

Mason clutched on to his stomach. Lilah made an incredible damage. Although she might not look it, Lilah was pretty strong.

He raised his head to look at her, trying to focus his vision on Lilah. But before he could get a good look at her face, worried Alicia stepped in his line of sight.

"How are you feeling? Do you think you can stand up?"

The man groaned. He pressed his hand against the cold tiles, trying to garner the strength to get stable on his feet.

Alicia moved forward to support him. Her shoulder lowered under his weight, and she couldn't stand up straight. Mason placed his hand on the wall, trying to grip the smooth surface.

Cold sweat gathered on his forehead. He hardly managed to keep his eyes open out of pain. His face was crumpled up.

Seeing him so pathetic really brought Lilah a sense of satisfaction, making her truly determined to do worse to him.

Alicia's doe eyes fell on Lilah. Desperation and helplessness were written in them. But Lilah didn't move forward to provide any assistance.

Lilah strode forward, guiding them to the back door.

Occasionally, hearing the footsteps made Alicia tense, but Lilah was reliable. She got them out of the place safely and called a cab.

When Alicia entered the cab with the injured, Lilah coldly said, "You owe me one for this."

Then, just as she was about to turn away, she recalled something. Her red lips curled up to a smirk. She faced Alicia and added, "Also, don't forget to tell him my name and what I did in case he doesn't remember. Can't have him being ungrateful to me."

Alicia didn't think Mason would be grateful to Lilah, but since that's what she wants, she nodded.

"Do you know him?" Alicia hesitantly questioned as Lilah was about to leave.

She received no response other than Lilah's indifferent back.

Alicia had no choice but to tell the cab driver to start the car.

The driver questioned, "Where to?"

"A hospital," she answered.

"N-No, not a hospital," Mason weakly informed.

"Then..." she hesitated.

°°°

Mason opened his eyes. A dirty ceiling fell into his line of sight. As his gaze spread across the room, he could see that he was in a dingy room. The musty smell penetrated into his senses.

The atmosphere brought him a sense of nausea.

Where was he?

His dark eyes narrowed. He crumpled up the sheets within his hand and sat up, supporting his body against the wall. He was lying on the mattress.

The dust gathered on the mattress made him feel disgusted. How long had it been since this room had been cleaned.

Could it be that he was kidnapped?

But that didn't make sense since he was left free, making it easy for him to escape. He tried to gather his memories before he lost his consciousness.

Creases appeared on his forehead.

He seemed to be chased by a bunch of men. He was drugged and injured by them. Then, a girl came to rescue him.

She was dainty and weak. But that didn't make her waver. She supported him through the difficulties, not caring about the danger she will be placed into.

How foolish!

That's when, the door opened, and a brightly smiling girl entered the room.

"You're awake!"
