Feeling Of Being Abandoned

After the agent was done showing around the apartment, highlighting its advantages, the agent stared at Lilah with hopeful eyes.

Lilah said, "I will take this apartment."

"You sure? Are you not going to look around some more?" Jamie questioned. She furrowed, recalling how it was unlike Lilah to choose so easily. The woman tend to be really picky.

"It's not perfect, but it is the best," Lilah answered.

"Well, I do agree on that. With such a hot neighbor, I would easily agree to it as well." Jamie grinned.

Lilah shook her head, not bothering with her friend who seemed to have no manners upon spotting a good-looking face.

"You have made a good choice. Then, when will it be appropriate for you to sign the contract?" the agent spoke. His eyes brightened up due to the success.

"Today," Lilah answered.

"Well, then, it would take a little while to get the contract ready."

Lilah nodded.

After the apartment was rented, she paid an interior decorating company to arrange the apartment to her taste. She ordered them to get the work in less than a week and even paid extra to get that done in short notice.

She chose a fancy yet elegant design for her room, going along with her temperature well. And the expenses weren't an issue for her.

After she was done handling the affairs related to her apartment, Jamie bothered her about going to the club, clamoring on regarding how it had been long while since she had danced there.

Lilah was in the mood for getting a drink as well.

Jamie proposed to call their other friends to celebrate Lilah getting her own apartment, but Lilah was against it.

Putting Jamie aside, Lilah knew that her friendship with the rest was rather shallow. It was mutual, so she didn't feel hurt by them not caring about her when she fell down.

In her last life, she enjoyed the attention they showered her with and gave them benefits in return. But this time around, she was greedy and wanted to make sincere relationships.

After being abandoned by everyone, the loneliness was extremely bitter. She didn't wish to endure it again. Although she was hoping for too much, Lilah didn't believe anything could be impossible for her.

The loud music boomed in the club, and the bright lights flashed. At the centre, people swayed against each other while dancing. Lilah and Jamie walked towards the bar.

Lilah's silver dress hugged her figure, and a black cropped jacket covered her arms. Her long blonde hair fell in waves on her shoulder, and her makeup was simplistic, but it accentuated her features well.

Lilah attracted attention the moment she stepped in. The cold expression that settled on her face either made others be cautious of her or become more curious and excited about her.

Compared to her, Jamie dressed rather ostentatiously, showing off a cheerful and bright vibe which served as a contrast to Lilah's mature one.

Jamie had her hand on Lilah's body, leaning against her, and when someone caught her eyes, she flirted with them through her facial expressions, usually blinking at them.

Lilah helplessly indulged her friend.

Once they walked over to the bar, Jamie and Lilah sat down. Jamie smiled at the bartender and greeted him with familiarity.

"We are starting off strong today. Surprise us!" Jamie energetically exclaimed.

"Starting off strong? You can't even hold your liquor," Lilah pointed out.

"Don't I have you to watch my back, honey?" Jamie winked at her.

Lilah decided to not look at her irresponsible friend anymore.

After the bartender finished making their drinks, Lilah gracefully and slowly enjoyed the liquor, creating a picturesque image. As for Jamie, she drank the entire content in a single shot before asking for another one.

When Jamie felt that she was intoxicated enough, she went over to dance, mingling along with the countless bodies.

Lilah enjoyed her glass unhurriedly while watching her friend. She had a few people approaching her, inviting her for a dance or offering to buy a drink for her. But Lilah turned them down coldly.

After a while of dancing, Jamie appeared to find someone who suited her taste and left her alone with the words that she will be spending the night with him.

Lilah stared at her friend in displeasure, not liking the feeling of being abandoned. But the intoxicated Jamie didn't notice her gloomy mood.

Lilah felt inexplicable. She was here to watch over Jamie only for the woman to find someone else to leave with.

Not having anything more to do here, Lilah stood up, about to leave when a figure bumped against her.
