Chapter 2: Meeting my Father
Entering the office and finding my father bent over a laptop with all his concentration on it and he seemingly not knowing I am in. Immediately I saw him any feeling of unfamiliarity disappeared almost as if I have lived all my life with him; well I have.
"Good morning sir, how is work or are you just hiding here looking as if you are working when you are not, as usual". I say in a joking tone.
He looks up from his work and faintly smiled on seeing me. "That was just a one time thing you dumb head and seems like sending you to America to learn has made you lose respect for me".
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say you are the boss, you might even decide to retire now if you so wish", I goof off.
Children of this generation dare to say anything. On that case, you said you have a way to increase our companies popularity while spoiling the plans of our rival.
I get serious immediately I was asked and replied, "yes sir, I felt we should buy a football club like they did but instead of buying a small club like they did it is better to buy a giant club so our team building would be faster than theirs".
Oh not bad, but would the fan of the club appreciate us and be endeared to us if they are already successful?". He asks.
"And that exactly is where I am going to, we buy a club in one of the top 5 leagues, preferably England since their laws support external investment and they are the most popular league for now, we then go for a giant club that is not keeping up with the time but still retains the attractiveness of a giant club so as to make our plans easier and faster, better still if the fans of the club does not like their current owners". I explain.
"If you decide to buy a club only one team ticks all those bracket even if you get your project managers to do a feasibility study and I would keep on pressing you to buy a club, not as if anything happening would really affect our business empire and a football club would really help us". I think in my mind.
"Well I would ask my managers to do a study on all you've said and check it's feasibility". He said.
"All right try to be as fast as possible okay we have not too much time". I say and leave.
On my way home I decided to spend my time calling up on some of my fellow business and law students during my time at Harvard and form an elite group of young business men, most especially rich 2nd generations to tackle any and all chance or problem during my move or stay in Europe.
About two hours later I was able to get five of my friends who are interested in my plans and are waiting to meet me in England (U.K) to kickstart our plans in about two weeks time and take the whole of Europe by storm.
As my dad and his employees go about studying my plan I decided to act like an ordinary football fan and just read up about European clubs transfer news. Most especially trying to see if a particular club would be able to buy a particle player they spent the whole summer to chase after.
For two whole weeks, I spent my time writing down my plan on what I plan to do in Europe after getting my plan while asking friends of mine who happens to stay in Europe to link me up with a financial advisor for takeovers especially that of football teams and an influential agent who can help me get linked up with people that has energy in football.
On this blessed morning, I got a call from my dad that asks me to come to his office and further discuss my plan.
I happily stood up from my bed, get dressed and get ready to go to his office.
