a tough battle(1)

Sunny smiled wryly as the girls looked up at the island in shock, Nephis had realised the beast was a demon and was already formulating a plan to deal with it in her head.

Cassie on the other hand wasn't doing so good, Neph had told her a demon was on the island and it seemed to shake her as she was no longer moving only taking small staggered breaths every now and again.

Sunny wanted to comfort her but he simply didn't know how to, he had always tried making friends when he was younger but it was like there was an invisible wall around him which would propel them away if they got too close. So to say sunny was effectively a social recluse with little to no idea on how to deal with peoples feelings, Nephis was the same though sunny did not know her circumstances he felt she too had difficulty talking to people. Worse than him!

In the end sunny just decided to sit down and talk to the girls, they needed a plan if they were going to stay on the island for a while.

"We need to go to that island, the closest place to us is bone ridge and that's one giant step backward in our journey it wouldn't be beneficial to us" Sunny spoke garnering Cassie to look towards him and listen.

Neph nodded then spoke, "then let's just kill it"

Sunny stared blankly before stating, "Are you crazy!!" To this nephis shook her head in denial before averting her gave upward and sunny did so likewise.

They did not have much time before the dark sea would begin to rise and the horrors of the depths would show up to feast on the three, so they needed to act fast or else they would become food.

Sunny added a few points after, looking at nephis with a straight face he nonchalantly spoke, "We should use the echo as bait and run up the other side of the mountain. Then we can hide on a high branch,"

Neph nodded then added slowly, "Hiw are we going to kill the demon then?," only then did sunny slowly pull out two sacks from his makeshift bag and presented it to the girl.

"When combined they become incredibly flammable so we will use that to our advantage since you can create fire if only for a small amount of time it should be enough!"

Nephis nodded in response, she could hear the pain if it's for a few seconds that should be enough.

They had planned for too long and the sun was slowly setting which meant they would have to make their plan move faster, so Sunny stood and summoned the echo fetching a soul shard from his pouch he laced it in the echos pincers and ordered it to move toward the same place the centurion had been and kneel.

The moment it began to move the demon look at it giving it a suspicious look as it slowly began it's way down the hill, it's massive footprints made small dents in the ground the demon was heavy and if someone was misfortunate enough to get in the way of the beast when or if it fell they most likely wouldn't survive.

The trio rushed up the mountain Sunny had Cassie on his back because Nephis did not trust him with taking the sacs of fluid, if it broke their plan would be foiled and so Nephis took it upon her self to make sure that the fluids remain in the different sacks and safe from harm.

They eventually did get to the tree and sunny began to observe the demon through his shadow for even longer.

The demon was nearly on its way back up, sunny was heart broken when he heard the spell tantalising whispers;

[Your echo has been destroyed]

He grimaced as he began his way up the tree to a branch he was sure was tall enough for the demon to not notice they were there yet.

When night came and the rumbling of the dark sea had returned they would begin their plan.

They made some small final preparations, they mixed the two sacs together to create the flammable liquid they also grabbed a small stick which was picking out of the tree and snapped it to make a makeshift torch for Nephis to light.

When it came time sunny shouted at the beast to garner its attention.

"Over her you stupid crab!!"

The beast came rushing to below them looking around in an attempt to try and locate the mysterious voice which had just been heard.

Sunny grabbed the mixed sac of liquid and threw it down onto the demon, it's corrosive properties wouldn't be enough to defeat the demon so Sunny handed nephis a makeshift torch and allowed her to light it before taking it off her.

The torch had a beautiful white flame which remained only where nephis had wanted it, the flame never swayed in the wind and it never seemed to want to go out.

Truly an immortal flame.

taking the torch sunny cocked his arm back and took aim, when he was sure the demon would be hit by the flame he threw the torch at the beast.

The goal wasn't to kill the beast entirely it was to lure all of the monsters beasts and even demons over to fight it. Weakened it should die easily.

The torch landed on the demon and it set ablaze almost instantly a large white flame engulfed the entire crab like demon and became a beacon of light.

The sky rumbled.

"Close your eyes!" Alan screamed to sunny, Sunny did not.

Only when he heard Cassie shout the same exact thing did he do so, it's not he didn't trust Alan it's that he wanted to watch the thing that killed his only echo Burn.

A large gust of wind thrashed past sunny and he eventually heard a voice,

It was Cassies.
