Epilogue

"Checkmate," Marcus said as he put the final piece in front of the Queen.

"Indeed," Rina said, glancing out of the windows of the library. "The weather is changing."

"Summer eventually fades, you know that." Marcus said, putting the chessboard back together. "And as much as I like beating you in chess, I know you came here for another reason."

"How does the Witch and Queen fare?" Rina asked.

"Better than to be expected. Ava has been excelling at her lessons. As for the Queen, she and her beau, have been traveling, seeing the world and causing all kinds of havoc. She's doing well, adapting to the modern world." Marcus said glancing at Rina. "This is all good news. So what troubles you so?"

"Helena," Rina said looking at Marcus. "She gave me a warning, that the ghosts of the past would return. My past. My brothers." She looked up at Marcus. "You know what we are."

"Demon royalty. That were banished from their home long ago." Marcus said.

Rina looked at the chess board. Her eyes on the still fallen Queen. "When one Queen rests, another rises to take her place. Freya might have found peace, but you and I both know that the world is a circle. What must be has a way of returning the balance. In whatever form that might take."

"And what form did it take?" Marcus asked.

"My son. My dead son. Here in New Orleans." Rina said. "I think it's time."

"Time for what?"

"To call the Ghost Riders. I think you will need more than your teenagers for this particular brand of evil."
