A Momentous Night

"The Prince has arrived with King Hadrian and his wife Queen Nabi. The ceremony is set to begin in the next thirty minutes. And before that King Kirill wishes for you to meet the King of Adze." A messenger detailed it out for Mircea. Etna had finished rolling out her hair into perfect curls and the maidens had powdered almost every inch of her skin except for her private parts, of course. 

"Tell King Kirill I will shortly attend to all of his guests." Mircea dismissed the messenger with a flick of her hand and resumed assessing herself in the mirror. 

Today, for the first time Mircea thought she looked like what her mother looked every day of her life. She looked like the Queen she was.
