Olivia looked straight at sophia when she had said that, her eyes widened

Though it was true, she'd probably only end up hurting herself more if she became so obsessed with this subject

But it was too early for it to be considered an obsession...right?

She had only seen two tapes on this 'thing' yet something about it made her want to learn more, though something in the back of her mind was telling her not too

It was Basic human instincts

Olivia sighed but nodded her head towards sophia

"I'll try not too, I just, I have this strange feeling that I want to know more about it, but if it gets to be too much, I promise you that I will stop and leave it be"

Olivia said with a smile, though she wouldn't give up easily, she wanted to prove to Sophia she could take care of herself

"Good, I'll be here to help you, were friends after all"

Sophia replied back, with a knowing smile

Olivia and Sophia had been friends ever since they were teenagers, often playing with each other after losing someone close to them

It was one of the ways they found comfort and trusted each other so easily

Though Sophia always knew when something was wrong, it was hard to hide anything from the girl

"Anyways aside from that disturbing tape, are there any connections that you have? From the first and second tape"

Sophia asks as she sits down onto the couch, along with Olivia who sat down beside her

Olivia had to think about this

The first tape was about farmers discovering something supernatural underground, though it wasn't determinable because it wasn't physically seen on camera

And the second tape was a birthday party and discovering the birthday boys ripped up body

One thing Olivia knew for sure

'this was not the work of an animal'

It was clear, what animal rips apart a human and takes the time and effort to eat their organs and break all of their bones? especially the ribs, and what animal carves a smile on their prey's faces

"Well....it's turned a smile into one of horror, there were a couple moments in some of these parts where a smile was seen, it looked like some sort of mask, and it was seen on the victim too, it wouldn't make sense for it to be an average animal"

Olivia pointed out as Sophia let out a hum

"I see, though we still have no connections on what this thing actually is"

Olivia nodded her head at Sophia's claim, she was right, they could make theories all day about the things they saw, but they didn't even know what the creature looked like, or any other type of things this creature possessed

"Well at least we know that it isn't human, so we don't have to treat it like one"

Olivia said with a small chuckle, looking down at the notes she had written, and that we're currently on her table, along with some pictures she took of specific moments in the tapes

There was a picture of a glitched smile in the distance, along with the picture of the boys body and a tail in the distance

"Well we did see it's tail, a rattle at the end like a rattlesnake, and bells as well, this must be used for a specific purpose"

Olivia pointed out again as she showed the picture to Sophia so she could see what she was pointing out

Sophia looked at the photo closely, it made her think of something

"I get a weird feeling from seeing this, if this kid has turned 12 this may have been what lured him, the rattle and the shaking of the bells may give an illusion of a baby's rattle"

Olivia looked shocked but Sophia was right

If there were bells and a rattle at the end, it might sound like a baby's rattle, peaking the interest of kids around, making them easy targets

This made her nervous, this creature didn't care to attack kids, and kids alone can't defend themself against something supernatural, making them easy prey, would this thing care to attack adults too?

She would have to research more in order to find this out

"There's a creep factor to this though, if this thing is supernatural....how can it trick a kid into thinking it's a friend? The kid in the tape said he was going to meet a friend, before he was found dead later on"

Olivia said as this peaked her interest, and it seemed to peak Sophia's interest as well, though she didn't like the reminder of the dead child, since she doesn't do well around gore

Even if it was fake like it is in horror movies

But Olivia thought about what she had just said, why would a creature like this feel sympathy to kids enough to be friends, before killing them soon after?

She remembered parents these days are always cautious on who their children hung out with, causing children to not hang out with people they don't know

"Strangers....maybe the creature wanted to make the child feel they were friends, I mean when people are surrounded by people they know, they know they can be vulnerable, meaning an easier target for this thing..."

It surprised Sophia with how much she was piecing together, though at the same time, she wasn't, Olivia was a fanatic about horror movies, knowing how the story played out from the beginning

Well she made theories which were right some of the time

Though Sophia didn't know how it would play out

Even if they knew everything about this creature

It doesn't stop the biggest elephant in the room, this creature was something supernatural, so would they even be able to stop it?

"Well...let's hope that we don't become a target.."

Sophia said slowly as she looked at Olivia

Olivia shrugged her shoulders with a hum

"I mean we don't even know where this thing lives, or if it's still even around, we'd have to find out which parts of the states it's attacking, see if it's only in one state or multiple, and see cases related to this matter, we have to find the most outdated ones and the most recent ones"

Olivia said as she was currently writing down all the theories they had spoke on

This all seemed great to promote

But it also scared Olivia, but for some reason she secretly enjoyed the horror aspect, it felt like she was in a movie

"Well the local library might have past cases, cause I'm sure they'd be registered under cold cases"

Sophia pointed out, Olivia nodded her head with a smile

"That's a great idea! Thank you Sophia, but for now, I'm going to write a article about this, bring awareness to the situation again, if this thing is still out there, it best for people to know about it"

Olivia said quickly as Sophia sighed but nodded her head, she knew she wouldn't be able to tell Olivia no and stop her

Olivia had always been stubborn, wanting to continue writing about whatever she came across

Though maybe Olivia was right about this

writing an article about the situation the world might be in may be best so people can understand and know about the situation to start protecting themselves against the creature too

This was a good thing to do....right?

The two ended up talking for a little more before Sophia went to grab some dinner for the both of them

Olivia stayed behind to write down the article, pulling out her laptop, she opened it up and made a new Google doc

"How should I word this?"

She asked herself as she thought about the situation

She couldn't put too much in due to the police possibly getting involved, so she had to keep the details vague but somehow still warn them about this beast

The Article took her some time to write, although it wasnt a big one, she knew it had the right amount of description to at least make people more aware of this phenomena

Once Olivia was finished writing her article she posts it onto the internet, se felt happy to herself that she had finally gotten something out, and with this growing phenomena, she hoped to somehow stop any more deaths from happening from this creature

The doors knob suddenly twists back and forth which makes Olivia jump from her seat, with the door opening with a hard push, olivia makes a small yelping sound only to see Sophia walk through the door

"I did text you asking for help, but when you didn't respond i assumed you were busy, sorry for scaring you though"

Sophia says with a small, shy chuckle, she sets down the sushi that she bought for the both of them, along with some drinks that she had gotten from the store as well

Olivia sits down and grabs her food to begin eating, Sophia just sits there in silence while looking at Olivia with a confused expression on her face

Olivia seemed confused by this and tilted her head while raising an eyebrow

"What's up?"

Olivia asks hesitantly, she had no idea what sophia had wanted from her, sophia lets out a chuckle before speaking up

"That article you wanted to write, did you finish it? If so, can I read it?"

Sophia asked Olivia as she took a bite of her own sushi

Olivia lets out a hum with her mouth full of food, she turned the computer to her friend so that Sophia could read the article

After about 5 minutes or so, sophia is done reading and looked back at Olivia

"Well it seems good, and it definitely brings awareness to the situation, you really emphasized our questioning for safety"

Sophia points out as she continued to eat

Olivia lets out a hum as she shrugged her shoulders

"I mean it's true, is it not? Even if people show it or not, everyone is always nervous or scared about the safety of our world, whether it's from humans or from a supernatural being, we just got....the unlucky option"

Olivia said with a awkward chuckle as she scratched the back of her hand

Sophia nods her head from this and looked back at the article

" well i wish you luck to get more info of this, i really do....but for now, lets take a break from thinking about all of this stuff, here i have an idea, interested in hearing it?"

Sophia asks with a raised eyebrow and an all knowing grin growing on her face. Olivia knew it was nothing bad or anything but still was interested in hearing Sophia's idea

"Sure, what's on your mind?"

Sophia's face lit up when Olivia agreed to hearing what her idea had been

"Let's have a movie night, just me and you, and we can watch all our favorite horror and romance movies for as long as we want, just to take our mind off of these things....so come on...what do you say?"

Sophia asks as she continued to look in Olivia's direction, both curious and desperate to hear what Olivia's response would be

"Count me in"
