Olivia stayed up that night, writing more information on this thing she heard,

She did her research to see if anything could help her but she couldn't find much, nothing helpful anyways

Olivia sighs and lays her head back and onto the couch, not realizing just how tired she was, after not sleeping yesterday, she passed out immediately

Time seems to pass quickly though as she was awoken by a sudden knock on her door, thinking she only rested her eyes for a little she looked at the time on her phone

"It's already 1 PM?! Geez how long did I sleep?"

She cursed to herself mentally as she got up from her couch and straightened herself to make it look like she didn't just wake up

After that she walked over to her front door and unlocked it, before then slowly opening it

Olivia let's out a sigh of relief when it wasn't some random stranger, it was Sophia

"Jesus Sophia, you almost gave me a heart attack"

Olivia said with a small chuckle as she opened her screen door and allowed Sophia to come in, which she does with a smile, almost seeming excited

It wasn't out of the ordinary since Sophia is usually quite chipper, even in the mornings

Sophia looked around and saw the papers, her notebook and both of the tapes, she chuckled softly as she turned back to Olivia

"Wow, someone's been busy"

Olivia scoffs as she walked to the kitchen to make herself some coffee, in hopes to wake her up, for whatever Sophia had wanted to come over for

She starts up the Keurig for her coffee, as she turned around and leaned against the counter

"So what did you need? I'm just curious why you randomly came to my home banging on the door like some chase scene in a horror movie"

Olivia said with a slight grin on her face, her arms were now crossed over her chest, she was obviously joking with Sophia as the two seemed close like sisters, especially when it came to their similar situations

Sophia had also lost her mom, with it also considered a "freak accident"

Though Sophia wasn't the type to investigate anything, she didn't do great after her mom's death but she wasn't even sure herself of where to start

Though Sophia helped Olivia from time to time, often giving ideas or helping her with her research

"Ah you know me, I'm just excited, especially after the text you sent last night, what did you find? Did you watch the both of the tapes?"

Olivia shakes her head as she grabs her coffee as she pours creamer in and some sugar, mixing it up

"No I didn't, I watched the one labeled 'The Noises From Underground,' it seemed interested, but i didn't get to the birthday party one"

Olivia mentions as she sits down next to Sophia, taking a drink of her coffee while side eyeing the tapes

She found information from the first one sure, but no solid information on an actual phenomenon

Nothing that would hook someone probably

Olivia sets down her coffee and looked at the tape

The one labeled 'the Birthday Party'

This one seemed to date back to 1992, which was 31 years ago

Something recent that was recorded, something with such an innocent name, what did it hold? It gave Olivia an itchy feeling once more

"Well maybe you should watch the other one, maybe it has a story to tell, though I'm not sure if anything creepy can come from a tape called 'the Birthday party'"

Olivia glared at Sophia immediately, there were a lot of films that turned birthday parties into ones of horror

Was it some clown horror? Olivia wasn't sure

Whatever this thing wash it brought glitches to the screen from the last tape, and if it did the same on this tape, then it must be something almost supernatural

Or something that just wasn't human

"Well...want to watch it with me? And if it's actually scary, then we got something good out of it, since I know you love horror too"

Olivia joked with Sophia once more, though when Olivia looked at Sophia, she seemed...hesitant...like she wasn't sure she should

Sophia was deep in thought, playing with the strings of her own hoodie

"And if it traumatizes us?"

Olivia sighed, Sophia had a point, the both of them have been traumatized in the path, with the sight of their own dead parent, though not all, but even a glimpse made them scarred

"Then we will get through this together, if there is actually something going on...think of the countless stories we could make, the spread of awareness, people do love their horror"

Sophia still seemed hesitant, she had never understood Olivia's way to cope with her mother and brothers death, using people's own horror stories and turning them into articles of their own, as she enjoyed the various horror scenarios she heard

Though Olivia wasn't psychotic, she just genuinely enjoyed horror, she was a sweet girl but was hurt from the incident

Though she never liked showing it

"Alright....let's play it..."

Sophia said hesitantly as Olivia smiled, immediately getting up off the couch and picking up the tape

She walked over to her TV and put the tape into it

Though she doesn't play it at first

"Want some snacks?"

Olivia asked with a smile, though Sophia shook her head, she wasn't interested, but she grew curious on what the film would display

Olivia shrugged her shoulders as she walked back to the couch and hitting play on the tape

Upon playing the tape, "the Birthday party" a seemingly innocent name.

The tape starts as a kid is shown on the camera, with a big smile on his face, he had a birthday hat on with some cake frosting on him, happily eating it, seeing the cake it seems the boy had just turned 12 years old that day

The boy seemed happy to be celebrating it with friends and family, another boy was recording this, he seemed to be the birthday boys cousin, as he wanted to film his cousins special day

The parents seemed to be off to the side chatting with one another, while the kids played on a playground that was near the woods, a couple of picnic tables were spread out around the playground where opened presents were and the cake as well

After the kids played for a while on the park the birthday boy then looked at all of them, a big smile still on his face, he mentions to them that he made a new friend recently, that he was really tall and fun to play with, and they he wanted to play with him for a bit, knowing his new friend would want to wish him happy birthday

The cousin of the birthday boy films him as he is seemingly walking into the forest now with no parental figures, which worries the cousin, but he writes it off, hoping for the best.

The video starts to glitch out a bit, as the camera catches a glimpse of a smile in the woods, it seemed to be a mask of some sort

The video then cuts out and turns back on when it is darker out, the sun is no longer up, the parents start to clean everything up as one parent is seen looking around frantically for something, the cousin walks up asking what is wrong and if he could help look for whatever she's looking for

She looks dead at the camera he was holding and then him, tears were falling down her face as she desperately asked "where's my son? Where's my little boy?"

The cousin realizes that his cousin hadn't come back, looking around where the other kids helped pack up, he was no where to be seen, he seemed to be just as confused

He looked back at the mother, telling her the last thing they told him is that he made a new friend and wanted to play with him, since he thought he'd want to wish him happy birthday

More unsettling feelings come as all the parents start to look around, calling the boys name

A soft ringing is heard as the kid holding the camera hears it, another glitch is seen on the camera, as another smile shows up in the distance before it quickly disappears, along with the glitches as well

The kid follows the trail his cousin went on earlier, after a minute of walking he finds blood, not just one spot, it was a splatter, blood in various parts, it looked like a massacre, which terrified the boy

The boys breathing gets heavier as it can be easily heard behind the camera, he walked forward a bit more before freezing, a shuffling was heard in the bushes, as he turns the camera to look at it, showing more glitches as this large creature runs deeper into the forest, only the large tail was ever caught on the camera, showing a rattle at the end with bells attached to it's tail,

Showing that this creature is what lured him into the woods

After ensuring the creature was gone, the boy slowly followed the blood that trailed into the bushes, the bushes were stained red, whatever was inside was not going to be pleasant, when the boy looked through the bush, there laid a dead body

It was completely mutilated, the stomach ripped open with only a few of the organs still in there, bones were exposed and now broken, though the boy also realized that the person heart was ripped out and placed in their hand, not eaten

Upon looking at it more the face is only mutilated a little bit, the nose was smashed in from struggle, as a smile ripped into the face, the jaw was slowly starting to detach from the front

That's when the boy realized this wasn't a random person....no...this was his cousins corpse

He had left to visit his friend to play with him....instead he got brutally killed

The camera cuts out again as the boys screaming can be heard

As the tape cuts out and stops playing the eyes of both girls were wide

Sophia had a couple of tears running down her face along with Olivia

"W-What was that....."

Sophia asked with fear in her tone as she turned to Olivia, expecting Olivia to know more than she did

"I don't know, but it's going to make one hell of a story"

Sophia stands up and looked at Oliva, one of displeasure

"A child got brutally murdered on this tape and all you care about is making your stupid stories"

Olivia quickly shakes her hand and stands up, her hands waved back and forth, it wasn't what she meant at all

If this 'creature' had been real, and was something that had been happening maybe she could find people to interview, share their stories, maybe she could make some kind of connections

"No, there won't be a story, though we don't even know of this is real, it could be some random horror film some people made, we have to see if there were any cases about this kid in 1992"

Olivia said as she sat back down on the couch, this was way more than what she expected

Though the tape glitched similarly as the last one, so they had some sort of connection

Though Olivia found it weird

Olivia thought to herself, she didn't know anything that could have a description like this

to people, without much information, all it would sound like is some pedophile or some child murderer, but nothing actually supernatural

"Ill have to do interviews about this, see if people know about this mysterious creature, with a long tail, with a bone like rattle at the end, with bells wrapped around it's tail, which it uses to lure kids"

Sophia nods her head, though she seemed concerned for her friend, Sophia walked to Olivia and put a hand on her shoulder

"Olivia...I know your the type of person to like doing this journalism stuff....but Olivia...you need to be careful, you never know what could be out there, and I can only do so much by your side...don't become too obsessed with this thing..I don't want you to end up like any of these other people labeled as a 'freak accident'
