Chapter 85

Khai cursed under his breath when Ana's stomach growled violently.

Ana hid her face in her hands. It was one thing for Khai to hear this, but what would Austin think? She peeked at him through the gaps in her fingers. He seemed unbothered, tossing a pebble and catching it in an attempt to kill time.

"Try to get some sleep. I'm sure someone will come for us." He kissed her temple and threw an arm around her.

"This is one way to end a fun day out, huh?" Austin smirked, his face turned towards the trees.

He sat on the other end of the barrier. Ana could only see his faint outline. The darkness started to feel unsettling and she wished she had her mana stone on her so she could at least produce some light.

"Do you think the werewolf will come back?" She kept her voice low, afraid of what monster would find them next.
