The Providence of Solomon: I Become The Lord of 72 Demons

"Contract with the Devil"—how many times have you heard these words? If you could sell your soul to have any wish fulfilled, would you do it? Many people ponder this question. Some would hesitate or refuse, but a small group would accept without a second thought. You might think people like this are selfish, but in truth, they are driven by something or someone more valuable than life itself—and Rafael is one of these people. Rafael is a final-year student at Royal Valtara Academy. For him, nothing is more important than his sister's happiness. By a twist of luck, he discovers that he is one of Solomon's possible heirs, the lord of Purgatory. "Aren't most people's debts insured? Even if they didn't do this, there should be no problem for your mother?" Rafael asked back.

He knew about this since he found an insurance policy at their home. Since his parents went missing, he looked for a way to claim the funds.

But unfortunately, he failed as his parents had just gone missing. In his country, missing people were only proclaimed dead if they were not found for 10 years.

"Yes, maybe they just did this to make sure no problem hit my mom in the future. After all, it's better to prepare in case something happens.

Free of the debt with the restaurant paid in full and also cash in her savings, my mother's life could be said to be settled.

As long as she maintained the restaurant carefully, or worse, just sold it, she didn't need to work again for her entire life."

Rafael was speechless hearing this. As a son without parents, he could relate to Aurora's mother's emotions. But he also could understand why her parents decided to go that far.

They were depressed and frustrated. Without any confidence, how could they get out of their slump?

In the end, they chose the best and surest method to guarantee her mother's life.

Depending on the perspective, it could be said her parents were irresponsible, but at the same time, they made sure her life was settled before leaving her.

Seeing his expression, Aurora also sighed, "Crazy, right? My mother always gets angry every time she tells me this story.

Afterward, she breaks down in tears and starts drinking some sake till she falls asleep.

She both loves and is angry at them. In the end, not knowing where to put her anger, she put it all on those responsible for her family's demise."

"What happened to them? Since, in the end, your mother married King Epsilon. I am sure he is not a man who would just take it lying down.

If it were me, I would make them pay with all interest added."

Aurora nodded, "I don't know the details, but my mother often only said, 'They got what they deserved.'"

"How did your father get your mom to accept then?"

"He just kept persisting through it all. At first, my mom was emotional and angry, but as she calmed down and learned about the reason, she slowly started accepting him.

Well, it took him almost a year and a few incidents until they finally dated."

"Based on what you said, your mom doesn't seem to be the type that would agree to your father marrying multiple women, nor would she care about his tradition."

"She said it was part of his status, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Every time she said this, I felt her eyes turn cold. I don't think it's as simple as that."

Meanwhile, Leslie was focusing on her driving, acting like she didn't hear anything.

As someone who often worked for VIPs, she had overheard many things that could easily become headline news.

The elite life was always full of drama, and this wasn't even the worst. Sometimes, she also needed to close her eyes when her VIPs did something immoral, depraved, and questionable.

This was one of the reasons, despite her strength, she only ended up as Aurora's bodyguard and driver. She was the one asking for this transfer.

The journey was filled with many small talks until Rafael asked to be let down a block away from his house.

"This place is alright. If you drop me in front, my sister will interrogate me."

"Okay, Rafael, I really enjoyed this evening. If you don't mind, could we do this often?" Aurora asked.

"Sure, let's talk at the weekend then or when you have free time."

"I just finished my world tour, so I am taking a break now from my career.

I will be free all this year. Hmm… maybe I should enter your school." Aurora said with a chuckle.

Rafael's lips twitched, "Don't you realize your age?"

"Of course not as a student. You know I can be your teacher."

"No! It's better if you don't do it. Of course, if you really wanted to, it's not like I can forbid you. But think of the repercussions, Aurora.

We can try to act as strangers, but who knows if anyone sensitive will find out it's just a lie?" Rafael asked.

He felt people like Mr. Velkan would easily realize they already knew each other.

Aurora's cheeks puffed out, "Fine, but promise then, you will spare at least a day every week for me."

Rafael let out a chuckle. "Alright, alright, I promise. Leslie, bring your princess home already. I don't want the king coming flying here asking where his daughter is."

"Rafael! I am not a child." She replied while still pouting, making Rafael's chuckle turn into laughter. He found her expression cute.

They exchanged more small talk, then said goodbye. 'It's already 8 now, I hope sis won't be too mad at me,' he thought while checking his phone.

His sister didn't have any more calls or text messages; usually, this meant he would get a scolding when he got home.

He then checked the group chat. It was filled with Airine and Suiyin talking.

"Hi Suiyin! ^ ^ How was today's class?"

"Ugh, Mr. Velkan's class is just… well, you know."

"Oh no! How was it?"

"As cold as ever. I swear he has ice in his veins."

"Haha! Seriously though, he's like a robot!"

"Totally! If you just saw how he was in the library, he didn't even move an inch when reading a book for hours XD."

"I know, right! Even in class, he was like that."

"And his assignments… they are impossible!"

"I feel you. He also gave me many assignments even though I was not in class, such as how I could learn this all by myself. O.o"

"Exactly! Do you think he ever smiles?"

"Maybe once a year... on his birthday."

"Haha, good one! I doubt he even remembers his own birthday. I just wish he could be a bit more… human? T T"

"Yeah, it would make his class less intimidating."

"Anyway, enough about Mr. Velkan. How's your day going? :)"

Reading their conversation, Rafael just smirked. It gave him a feeling of normalcy after everything he had just experienced.

He sent out some texts agreeing with their opinion, then walked toward his home. But when he came close, Rafael frowned. The house was dark.

This should never happen, as the lights were automated.

Even if his sister hadn't gone home, it should have turned on. But even if this is true, Reina will always tell him if she will come home late.
