Chapter One Hundred Eight: The Save and The Truth

They were only a few hours away from the Kingdom, and the Journey remained silent for the most part. Keera continued following behind, debating as to whether she could run away or not though after more careful thought, she knew there was no conceivable way that she could get away.

" why are you taking me with you? " Keera questioned Shawn. " I understand that you want me to provide explanation to Penny but there is nothing I can say. You seem to know what happened or have an idea of what happened so you know about as much as me" Keera pleaded.

" I am bringing you with us because my daughter is not done with you. And until she is, you will not leave. If it makes you feel any better, she won't kill you. And I know that you had nothing to do with the betrayal. But you will come with us, because you helped her escape, and thus you will be hunted as well. You aren't one of them which means they will turn on you just as quickly" Shawn brought up valid points. Going back to the Kingdom would result in at best, her death.

" She is never going to believe me though. And I don't blame her..it looked very bad.." Keera couldn't bare to face Penny after what had happened. Partially because of guilt and partially because she never wanted to fight Penny. In truth, she would never want to raise even so much as a finger to her. She wasn't entirely sure why, but she simply couldn't.

" She will be regaining consciousness soon" Shawn pointed out as Penny began to groan. " I hope you know what you are going to say"

" I am just gonna be honest with her. There is nothing that I can say that would make her feel differently but I'm going to remain honest" Keera explained. This would be a bad confrontation and yet, it was going to happen one way or the other.

" What..where am I? " Penny groaned which prompted Shawn to stop walking and place Penny on the ground, gently.

It took a few moments before Penny could gather her bearings, but when she did, she made eye contact with Keera, overlooking Shawn completely.

" What did you do to me? " Penny questioned, assuming Keera had done something to knock her out.

" That was Penny" Shawn stepped forward and for the first time Penny layed eyes upon him.

" Who are you? Penny looked at Shawn, sizing him as though he were a threat to her.

" Well given the circumstances, I know that this is horrible timing..but..I am...I'm your dad" Shawn, almost in a shy tone, confessed.

" You are kidding me..." Penny stood, in complete disbelief.

" I'm afraid not " Shawn replied, displaying his wide toothy grin.

" I...don't..Mom is dead" Penny cried.

" Well that's not the reunion I was hoping for but..I know" Shawn confessed.

" Then why are you not upset?" Penny cried out in anger. She felt an immense mix of emotions at the moment and the only one she could bring to the forefront was pure anger.

" If you would like to hit me then do it. But just understand that it won't bring her back. It can't bring her back" Shawn tucked his hands behind his back.

" I hate this world..I hate it..I hate it " Penny pounded her fist into the ground, trying to release the anger.

" I know, but the world isn't to blame for this. We know who to blame for this and we will get vengeance, I promise you. But there is something that you should know " Shawn steps forward and places his hand on Penny's shoulder.

" Your mother isn't dead"
