Chapter 9

"Alright. Keep your chin up Michael. You need to complete a Gate after this." Michael said to himself as he pumped himself up as he entered the school.

He hadn't told his new status as a Player to anyone in school and he didn't have any plans to do that as well. And so he was going through his usual life as a student, but it had to end because the same bullies that tried to hurt his underclassman have now surrounded him.

"Come on guys, I'm just trying to go through my school life peacefully." Michael said to the three.

"Yeah well we don't care. You have been a bit too smug just because you had our videos, but we will teach you some manners this time." Bully 1 said to him with a smirk.

"And what brought this on?" Michael asked them with a sigh.

"We can't just let a Non-Player like you boss us around." Bully 2 said to him.

"This coming from the four who cower in front of Arun?" Michael asked them with a raised eyebrow.

This caused the four of them to grit their teeth in anger as they glared at him.

"You little shit. We'll show you what will happen when you get too cocky." Bully 3 said as he summoned a standard European sword.

He then swung the blunt side of the blade at him as Michael watched it coming towards him as the other students were shocked at what's happening.

*Tink*

Only for their expressions to become one of surprise when they heard that sound. The eyes of the four bullies widened when they saw what happened.

The sword of the bully was blocked by Arun using a the 5 Rings on his left forearm. He smirked as he looked at the shocked faces of the bullies.

"Surprised?" Michael asked with a smirk.

"Y-You! You're a Player!" Bully 1 said shocked.

"Yeah. I wasn't planning on revealing it but it looks like that won't be possible now." Michael said as he swatted the sword away.

The bully with the sword stumbled backwards a bit from the surprised push as he corrected him as Michael made the Rings disappear.

"Now let's not fight and go back to class okay. I don't want any trouble." Michael said to them as he he walked away.

But he was grabbed by his right shoulder by the 4th bully as he glared at him.

"Don't get cocky just because you became a Player. Do you really think that we will just let you go?! There's no way that someone like you who was always under us could be above us!" Bully 4 said with a glare.

Michael was silent as he looked at the boy. He didn't want to get into any unnecessary fighting so he kept his calm as he looked at the boy.

"Listen, class is about to start. I need to get back." Michael said to the bully.

"We should teach you some manners first." Bully 3 said with a glare.

Michael sighed at his words as he knew that he couldn't talk his way out of this now.

'I really hoped it wouldn't come to this.' Michael thought to himself as he grabbed onto the hand on his shoulder.

Then he turned the 4th bully upside down as he knees him on his face sending him flying back as he hit the wall. The other three were surprised, something which he took advantage of as he punched the back of the head of the 2nd bully and dug his head onto the floor as his body shook before stopping.

"Shit! Attack!" Bully 1 said as he summoned an oversized gauntlet on his right forearm.

The 3rd bully attacked him with his sword only for Michael to dodge the slash before he angled his right forearm at him. He made his Rings appear on it as he shot two of them sending the guy flying back and into the wall as it cracked.

He then grabbed the punch from the 1st bully as he managed to stop it as he grit his teeth a bit. He then pulled the guy towards him before sending an uppercut as it sent the guy upwards a bit. But Michael didn't let him go up much before he grabbed his leg and slammed him onto the floor cracking it as the guy is knocked out.

"This is what I wanted to avoid." Michael said to himself as he looked at his surroundings and sighed.

The four bullies were now around him knocked out. Bully 1 is on the cracked floor knocked out, Bully 2 has his head dug into the floor also knocked out, Bully 3 is knocked out stuck on the wall as it is cracked and Bully 4 is slumped on a wall upside down knocked out with a bloody nose as he is knocked out as well.

The rest of the student body and teaching staff were surprised at what had happened in front of them and in the span of a few moments. Michael had just defeated 4 of the bullies in the school in a matter of seconds without as much as a sweat.

"Wow, he defeated them so easily." A girl said surprised.

"It's high time those guys were put in their place. Though I didn't think Michael would be the one." A male student said with a smirk.

Similiar comments were said from the students around the area as they were quite happy about it. But amongst the students who had watched his short fight were Gayatri and Arun who were looking at the scene with wide eyes. They had never expected Michael to be able to defeat the group of bullies so easily. They hadn't even known that he had become a Player.

Michael corrected his dress and gave on last look to the knocked out bullies before letting out a sigh as he walked away. He was surprised to see Gayatri on his path as she has a book in her hands as she is looking at him surprised.

"Sorry for the commotion." Michael apologized before he passed her.

Gayatri turned and looked at him before she looked at the bullies. Then she looked at Arun who is looking at where Michael had gone before he clicked his tongue and walked away as she watched him.
