Birth

"Is she going to be alright, woof!?"

Prof. Dog's voice was loud and clear from inside the hospital's delivery room where Ms. Cat was giving birth to their child. Gene and I weren't allowed inside, so we just waited in the hallway.

Nine months sure went by quickly.

"Are we late?" We heard a voice.

Momo and Cyrus came running towards us like they were late for the movies. Nathaniel followed behind them in no apparent hurry.

"Hang in there, wifey!" Prof. Dog said dramatically as if he were performing in a theatre.

"Wow. You can hear everything from here," Cyrus commented.

"I hope Ms. Cat is doing alright." Momo was genuinely worried. "I heard giving birth is painful."

Soon, Mr. Shark and Ms. Butterfly appeared at the end of the hallway and joined us.

"Is the baby out?" Ms. Butterfly asked.

"Not yet," I replied.
