Chapter 78

Like a faithful member, I showed up at the society's fancy hangout again. Auriel and the wolf mask man were over at the bar discussing something. I approached them.

"So you've finally arrived." Auriel handed me a glass of fruit juice.

"Hello, Miss Peony," the wolf mask bartender greeted me.

For some reason, his hands were shaking while wiping the glasses.

"You don't look well. Are you alright?" I asked.

"See? Even she noticed that you're acting awfully nervous right now," said Auriel.

The wolf mask man tried to smile. "Yes. I'm alright."

He didn't look alright to me at all.

"Mr. White will see you now." Someone suddenly approached the counter to inform us.

Auriel stood up. "Shall we?"

I nodded and followed him into Mr. White's office.

Mr. White was standing right by his pet raven when we entered. He slowly turned his head, looking delighted to see us.
