Chapter 62

Auriel unlocked the door to Cyrus' office. We searched the room for anything suspicious. Everything else appeared to be normal. The books and documents in the room were all related to the business. I should have expected it.

I was about to walk back to the exit when Auriel tapped my shoulder and pointed at an area next to him.

There were papers on the floor.

The torn pages.

Auriel picked them up. "The missing pages, huh? What luck."

"Cyrus was the one who tore this out?"

"That is the most likely scenario. Your friend is most probably involved in this."

"He wouldn't carelessly leave them on the floor like this though..." I refused to believe it. Cyrus seemed like a careful person to me.

"We can brainstorm for possibilities when we're out of the building. Let's go."

Auriel was about to exit the room, but stopped. We heard voices from outside. In a few seconds, the lights turned on.
