Chapter 37

I circled the venue looking for signs of Momo. The dim purple and yellow lights made it harder recognize people. Everyone looked almost the same.

She better not have gone snooping around on her own!

I noticed a card on the floor. It was a ticket with Momo's name on it. She was probably here earlier.

She could be nearby.

It wasn't long before I found her with two wealthy-looking ladies who both looked like they went through every possible beautification procedure that the world had to offer. Even Momo looked plain standing next to them.

"Momo, why would you bring such a person to this exclusive event? People are going to start talking about you. She's not one of us. Plus, that phantom thief always shows up when she's around. They could be in it together! What if you get kidnapped?" One of them said.

Momo looked annoyed. "She's my friend."

They're talking about me?

I was shocked. It never occurred to me that I would be a bother tagging along with Momo and Cyrus to these events.
