71.Grand barrier fluctuates

Outside the ruins .

Ghost general saw Humans coming outside of ruins .From front he seems to attacking fiercely.But his attention was already divide and looking for signal .

Humans coming out of ruins was one of them .

It was a pre decided signal .

It was time for next step .

Raising his hand he directed his power to the ruins .

For some time his defenses became weak .His powers like swarms of snakes . traveled over all ruins .

Human cultivatiors didn't realise why he was doing this .But since there was chance to deal with ghost general why wouldn't they take it .They started attacking ghost general again their powers and injuries somewhat recovered.

They knew they couldn't defeat ghost general.That's why they had already sent message back to their forces .saying they weren't match for ghost general.

But they would be weakning ghost general as much as possible.So they atleast have to appear valiant and powerful.

So that they make others understand they had tried their best .

They attacked relentlessly while hoping for reinforcements to arrive .

Meanwhile ghost general's power made barriers rise from ground and all entrances/ exits of ruins were blocked by a barrier .

He wasn't assured though .He gestured other two experts to check .

"There is nothing wrong with them "

"Maybe they someone closed the exit with new barrier and it might be the work of ghost soldiers ."

Old swordsman listened after thinking he replied.

But everyone was repelled same .He even checked their bodies before and after .

So they really are not possessed .But than he noticed the unconscious youngsters who were left laid with the support of walls .

"The barrier is broken you can escape outside now .just go on the back side of mountain and escape to the 'grand fortress city' .Going from backside of mountains should be relatively safe .compared to the front outside "He said and left to join the battle .

The two experts looked at each other and than at the battle scene .

'we are just hired manpower.we don't need to take this too seriously ' They transmitted to each other .

They decided against joining the battlefield.

'Than we just follow these youngsters.if ghost general is really defeated.we will go there to take credits in last moment '

'However if he isn't defeated.we will take credit for rescuing the youngsters .'.haha they smiled .It was a win-win plan .

They followed the youngsters outside .

suddenly the grand barrier seemed to be fluctuating .it's powers seems to be weakning.

The grand barrier started to blink .appearing & disappearing.

Suddenly they don't know what fever came over the five individuals carrying unconscious lady .They started running speedily.The moment barrier disappeared.They exited .

The two expert felt their behaviour strange .But they saw other youngsters also running so they couldn't guess for a while .

"maybe they are afraid lightning will strike them "

"Also this barrier fluctuations.They are afraid it might stop them "

Two experts reasoned each other .

"But this grand barrier fluctuations is not a good sign " said senior 1

"Indeed"senior 2

"We should follow youngsters and guide them safely "senior 1 suggested

"Saving & Guiding the younger generation is also a big responsibility.we should follow them for their safety "They nodded to each other and decided to stay away from battlefield.

He overwhelmed ghost general for a while .

The round metal had transformed into spear again .Ghost general was using it to deflect long range attacks .

But still some attacks managed to reach him .

Some attacks even managed to destroy some part of his spirit .

If it continued for long he will surely die .

But if his plan managed to succeed .He had hoped for full recovery.

But before that he had to wait for signal .

Till than he could only exchange moves with these experts .

Nevertheless he wasn't getting bored .Every attack he faced increased his excitement.

Every attack that harmed him . increased his battle spirit .

After many centuries he was entertained and could finally fight .

Suddenly he noticed The grand barrier fluctuating.The energy barrier that covered the all ruins had weakened .

"Haha ha .Look here is my chance .Heavens hadn't decided my time of ascending to after life yet ."Ghost general roared .he was happy his plan had become successful.

The plan to destroy the formation points .

He released his spear .

The metallic spear turned formless And entered his smoky body .The round smoky metal started rotating.Clouds churned in the sky .

As lightning started coming down on Ghost general again.It was absorbed into his ghostly body .

"He is doing something again stop him ."

"Everyone stop him from becoming powerful "

Human cultivatiors roared .

But at the same time more ghosts started coming out of ruins .

They formed a barrier to defend ghost general.They faced all attacks .

Human cultivatiors were exhausted too .They had lost many of their fighting means against ghost general.Infact they couldn't wait to go rest a home .

But still they had to put last ditch efforts .

Using strong attacks they managed to defeat defending ghost general's.

But against ghostly general whom had appeared lightning arcs again .They were helpless .

'should we give up 'That was the thought going through their mind .

They were thinking and fighting.

Old swordsman was also thinking of escaping.He realized now .

The previous weakness of ghost general was likely for some strategic purpose .

The creation of barrier on the entrances was to make human cultivatiors inside ruins misjudge the barrier with grand barrier .

Probably in confusion or because they were unaware about grand barrier's formation points .They must have attacked the grand barrier causing fluctuations on it .

The purpose of digging tunnels was also likely to found formation points .

By making humans attack the barrier they could ghost soldiers could save up on attack power .Most importantly the effect on grand barrier was totally different when humans attacked it .compared to ghosts .

As when ghosts will attack it .it will strengthen itself and also try to repel the ghost attack .

But when humans attacked it there was no resisting power .

And destroying the formation points was the best way to destroy this grand barrier .

As it had the ability to repair itself .

But still there were many things he didn't understand.why go such a roundabout way .
