New Guild System?

They continue making their way down the street until they see a giant building that looks almost like a capitol building from earth.

The building has massive pillars along both sides of the entrance, a massive dome top. 

"Wow this building kinda makes it feel like we are back on Earth" Xiaoyi says to Weiyuan.

"It does it feel like entering a government run building." Weiyuan replied. 

Before they could enter, an old woman cried out in a raspy voice "You can not cut the line I've been waiting here for yours and I will not let anyone get ahead of me!" 

She looked to be a witch as she had a broom stick in one hand and a pointed hat. She had green skin like the witch from wizard of oz but the wart on her nose was not as big. 

"Oh sorry we didn't know." Weiyuan replied and guided Xiaoyi to the back of the line. 

As they walked past they saw a lot of hardy looking individuals through the line. All of them have weapons and armor probably suited to their fighting style. Most of them have swords and a few of them have hammers, axes and knives. Only a couple had staffs or wands showing that magic isn't a common thing to have.

Many of them had scars covering their bodies from the many battles they have gone through. 

It's hard to imagine why so many of them are currently outside the building. 

'I wonder what's happening in there. Is some kind of event going on or are they just not letting people in?' Xiaoyi questioned to herself. Of chores she didn't believe that lady that said she was outside in line for years. 'Must be an old person joke.'

"We have to go in because we wanna sign up." Weiyuan said to Xiaoyi. "So it is best if we wait a while and see how much the line moves. I really don't want to wait here for years though." He continued. 

"It might be because the world changed or maybe the box made it change. Maybe they're looking into that right now." Xiaoyi responded. 

"Yeah, We can set up for a while in line to see if it's going to be moving faster." He said.

Once they get to the back of the line he taps on a little lizard's shoulder. 

"Hello sir, ma'am why is everyone in line right now? What's happening inside?" He asked the lizard very politely. 

"It is ma'am!" The angry lizard replies in a deep voice. "Didn't hear they're changing this system because some weird boxing thing showed up" The lizard continued very matter of factly. 

The lizard had managed to grow a full beard however was tying it into small little beard pigtails. 

Both of them were taken aback by the first statement; they almost didn't hear the rest of it. 

"Right, sorry ma'am. Thank you for letting us know. How long have you been in line?" Weiyuan asked.

"I was in line for about 30 seconds before you started harassing me." The little lizard lady replied. 

"I- okay thank you." he responded feeling dejected. 

"It's okay we are almost inside." Xiaoyi comforted him with a hand on his shoulder.

Once he looked up she was right they were almost inside! Looks like a year of his life wont be wasted on trying to get in. 

Then the Lizard lady turns around.

"Wow, to think the first human I met harassed me? No wonder you all went extinct. You humans must have used some dark magic to come back from the dead. How was it being extinct? For me, my species, we are small and we can easily hide away where we want and will never go extinct. Yeah, how do you like being harassed?" The little lizard lady went on and on not even letting either of them get a word in. 

They were thankful when the guard at the door let her enter the building.

"I am never being polite again." Weiyuan said as he shook from what just transpired. 

"I really hope there isn't another line inside. I don't want to be near them." Xiaoyi, who was a victim in their little charade, said in a defeated voice. 

"You may enter." The guard said while pointing at Weiyuan. 

Once he went in the guard closed the door. After about 30 seconds she was also let in. She followed through the door and to her horror she saw Weiyuan already being bombarded by the little lizard at the back of another line that was filled with about 10 more people.

She went to the back of the line pretending not to be affiliated with Weiyuan or the lizard. Looking around she saw that there were a lot of translucent sage green boards scattered around the room.

This will be interesting to learn how to handle. After about 3 long minutes it was finally Weiyuan's turn.

"Please summon your box." The cat lady at the counter commanded as Weiyuan approached. 

"Box." Weiyuan said. 

Xiaoyi found it interesting that the lady behind the counter could see it but not her. The lady then summoned a box from a book that appeared to copy his info and print it in the book. 

"When you die your info will be deleted automatically. Thank you for signing up to be an adventurer. You can find quests on any of the boxes scattered throughout the guild building." She said in a robotic manner as if she said it a thousand times already. 

She then waved Weiyuan off. "Please summon your box."

"System" Xiaoyi responded. 

She watches as all of her info is copied word for word.

"When you die your info will be deleted automatically. Thank you for signing up to be an adventurer. You can find quests on any of the boxes scattered throughout the guild building. Seeing as you are level 1 I am required to advise you to go out with a group." The lady then waved her off and started her spiel all over again. 

She quickly moves out of the way and walks over to Weiyuan. 

"Hey did you know my box got updated. It now says I'm associated with the adventurers guild." He told her when he saw her approaching. 

"System." She can see what he means.
