Chapter 1: Survival

Survival of the fittest, Darwin's law. When simply looked at the concept, it is viewed that the strong survive and the weak perish no one could disagree with a concept. Although those who are strong in the mind can also survive.

The light was leaving the sky as Althea felt the sun pour into the crevices of her skin, warm and beautiful but distant. The sunset was approaching rather too quickly for Althea as she turned to her watch to see the time 7:51 pm. This was a problem. The world feels the terror of the night when 8 approaches no one dares to exit their homes, not while the other lurks. Each known as Phasebroods, their form was the appearance of a demon, the devil himself and time would constantly run out for Althea.

She turned the corner to see a man he held the blades of an Raxis. They hunted Phasebroods down at night, yet we're almost always unsuccessful. Most would die during or being ambushed by them. From all they know of Phasebroods is their way of murder. They charge at humans and phase into their bodies pausing all internal organs from functioning. The town is enclosed by a dome, by day none of the Phasebroods can enter, only at night when they are strongest. In the island there are 5 domes. Each are protected by the Ererix. They are the guards of the domes.

The five domes are as listed from most powerful to least:

Recter - Where the royal family live

Padwer - Where wealthy and influential live

Demonist - Training camp for all hunters

Yupitur - Middle class district

Venominy - Poorer classes / unemployed

Althea lived in the Yupitur district, her family were far more influential due to the death of her brother Desmon. He had left the house on accident trying to retrieve a neighbour's pet and was gone too long until it was realised he was brutally murdered by Phasebroods.

Althea only had one goal "save this world, and kill the Phasebroods that slaughtered her brother
